1313 reboot and is Disney too PC?

SUMMARY:
1313 was an open-world video game that Lucasfilms was making until Disney shut it down in 2014. You would play as an unidentified bounty hunter killed by Boba Fett. Following this exchange, you would become Boba Fett and get to explore the lower levels as Coruscant and get to use many “exotic” weapons as you uncover a criminal conspiracy. The game would have been centered around human skills/combat, not force skills. It was supposed to be tied into the live-action TV show Star Wars: Underground which Disney also shut down. Jesse Harlin said he was making music he was “creating music for street performers who would play in back alleys, there were Star Wars dance clubs.”

Colin Campbell and Dominic Robillard were going for a mature rating on this game - different from the kid-friendly Disney series productions (minus Mando.) Contrary to popular belief, the M rating is not because of gore, but rather because of the motivations of the characters and the world itself (I assume because of clubs/drinking and such.)


Jason Schreier says that despite the rumors, 1313 will most likely not be restored as the game is eight years old along with the team. The Boba series and the Mando hype have given the video game more attention and there have been rumors of a reboot. It has also sparked conversations about whether Disney is too kid-friendly and destroying the EU and stories that have less to do with the force.


On the other hand, the OT was made for kids and had a lot of kid attention. As the Star Wars universe has progressed along with the EU, the darker part of Star Wars has been revealed more. Even in the OT, while it is fun action for kids, there are darker meanings there as well.

PERSONAL/OPINIONS:
Personally, I would love to see 1313 rebooted. I love the darker part of SW and I would love an open-world video game. I think Disney could do a lot with video games, but there is the danger that they make it for kids. While I think that is important, we all have tried to use the force or pretended to live on Corasant and video games is an amazing way to get there. The darker parts of that world are super important to the SW universe and I would love to explore that. Darker motivations along with the underworld life. At the same time, it could be dangerous or exclusive for kids. Many people think there should not be a darker part of SW. Is it worth their resources?


What do you guys think? Has Disney gotten too PC? Should 1313 be rebooted? Or would you like another type of open-world game? Give me your thoughts or else it’ll be super awk if no one responds haha plus I’m super curious.

Yes, that and republic commando. I would cry. Currently, my tear ducts are blocked but I would find a way. Yes while EA does do that (I'm bad with this stuff) I think it was Disney that shut down 1313 and or Lucasarts. I just wanna know why. PC might be the wrong word, but I mean blocking out the ugly parts of SW/the darker parts. Apologies for any confusion haha.

the lack of completion is disturbing. Obviously, it needs a lot of updating if not a total remake, but the idea should be rebooted. It would make sm money and people would love it.

Yeah realizing PC isnt the right word - jsut Disney doesnt always like the darknesss of SW which ive always been drawn to (maybe not a good thing lol.) Like why would they shut down 1313? And yes seeing the underworld was fun, just hoping for a LOT more of it and more EU.

I dont remember this nor have a read anything on the reception of it - why was that not well-reveiced? Did they want the player to be their own customizable character?

 

mhhh i just will never understand why they would cancel it. hopefully they will hear us and give us an open world gave, im just afraid that it will be made mainly for kids (not a bad thing) but i do wanna see that darker SW side.
