Cleveland is my #2 team. I don't follow them as much as I'd like, as the Lions take up every ounce of energy and heart and frustration that I have, but, I do want to see the Browns have success.

A strong Cleveland team would do wonders for the AFC North.

    RIP, Lions.

Guess it's (already) time to re-adopt my playoff team.

That game did not go how I expected. But on the plus side San Francisco won so we kind will f came out even on those picks. The Playoffs this year are going to be really tight but I'm backing the Eagles (Who also lost last night) but it was but a bump in the road hopefully.

Speaking of... Gronk should have been tossed from that game and he should have a suspension coming. However, it will be like 2 games and Bellicheck is too smart to waste time with appeals. Considering that there is a better chance than not that the Pats make the playoffs, he'll serve the suspension and be back in time for the post-season.

I learned last night (I have not been paying attention to their schedule) but the Eagles have gone on this streak against primarily bad teams and their 2 losses are to KC in week 2 (which was dominating the NFL at the time) and to Seattle. Turns out that before last night their only game against a team that is currently above .500 before last night was the KC game in week 2. It will be interesting to see if they can bounce back and beat the high-powered LA Rams this next weekend.

That said, I REALLY want them to bounce back against the Rams next week. Seattle's ownership of the NFC West could use that little push.

Giants fire their head coach Ben McAdoo and General Manager Jerry Reese. Probably 1 week too late. You deserved better, Eli..

Still don't understand why they fired Coughlin, I mean I know that he resigned, but it sounds like that was the choice that they gave him. I could understand if they had a crack to get a coach with a proven record, but they fired their 2-time Superbowl Champion coach for a no-name only to fire him not even 2 full seasons later. That whole team and their fans deserve better.

Seems like house-cleaning needs to start with management.

So who takes on the coaching duties for this weeks game do they promote one of the co-ordination for this game & perhaps the rest of the season while they look to hire a new guy for next season or do you think they will try & get the new guy to in for the rest of the season.

Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will reportedly serve as the team's interim head coach.

No, they'll promote someone from within as an "interim" head coach. Actually I just looked it up, they promoted their D-coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo. He actually was a candidate for the HC job a couple years ago, but McAdoo was chosen instead.

There's a chance that Spagnuolo could remain the HC, but he would have to make it through the eventual hiring process just like any other candidate once the offseason begins.

edit: ha! @TheBBP bbeat me to it :D

Thanks for the information. It sound similar to our Football in that they normally promote from within at least temporarily & then open up the process of finding a new coach. Of course we have relegation from the leagues as well so owners tend to be a bit more trigger happy with there coaching staff & it's now quite normal for the PL to have several clubs change manager during the season.

They just hit a landmine... Eagles QB Carson Wentz is done for the year after tearing his ACL.

Just seen it that's not good at all I know diddly squat about there back up though he seamed to fill in ok last night & they can still use the run game so there is still hope but the Super Bowl may be one step to far for them now.

Foles showed a ton of promise early on, but has floundered a bit since then. I do still think he is plenty capable of guiding that team deep into the playoffs, but am worried that the Eagles instantly become one-dimensional and their opponents will key on the run game and dare Foles to beat them with his arm. Could mean bad news for Eagle Nation.

Foles has an opportunity to stick a resume out there that shows that he's ready to command an NFL offense. At least that is the bright side that I take from this bad news.

Haslam has got to be the most inept owner in the NFL. He had a lot of influence over past 3 Univ of Tenn coaching hires, and all were underwhelming. Finally he was blocked out of deciding our new coach... I'm not sure if the Browns will ever be much under his leadership. College or NFL, any team he has power over -- it's downhill

    Well the playoffs have started.
& it's all ready going south for my choice How did Tennessee 1) Get to the playoffs & 2) Actually win last night.
& The Eagles are going to be toast next week.
Could we see a repeat of last years SUPERBOWL something I wouldn't have considered even 3 weeks ago.

How the hell are the Jags No 3 seeds.
The Bills RB who was injured now has more yards then the entire Jags offence
Also the one of the Ex Players on the BBC basically said the only way for the Jags to win was this was to not let ther QB have the ball seriously how bad is the Jag QB when he is a liability to the team.
