During Disney's 2020 Investor's meeting, there were several new shows confirmed & announced to be released on Disney+ :

I think Rangers caught me off guard the most. So that might be the one I'm looking forward to most now. But man... this is going to be an amazing next couple years.

Sure a lot of upcoming content for a dead franchise, being made by a company in disarray with a civil war going on inside it!!!!

In all seriousness, I can not wait. What a bright future for the GFFA.

I was seeing someone say they announced a “Rogue Squadron”?

The guy for Andor is Tony Gilroy, a screenplay writer of the first 3 films of The Bourne series as well as for Rogue One.

Yep! Feature film from Wonder Woman's Patty Jenkins. In theaters Christmas 2023, I believe.

Perfect, I've updated accordingly. Thanks! Too much information was flying there for me to keep up. :D

So I might be one of the few folks who was excited about "Andor' when it was first announced. I said it back then it needs to be a Cold War spy thriller (I'm a historian and I love the Cold War era). Damn finding out that Tony Gilroy is involved and it indeed is a spy type show? BAD ASS.

Hayden Christensen coming back to portray Vader? Oh heck yeah! I will admit, I wasn't sure what to expect from this, but this was good. I'm a bit skeptical of one or two things, but overall this looks like a good slate of shows.

Too much from Favreau and Filoni.
New voices intrigue me so much more.

In all seriousness, this is amazing news!

I wasn’t expecting this much awesomeness, but here’s my thoughts on each:

    Rangers of the New Republic
Probably the most interesting announcement to me; though it’s not the one I’m most excited for. I’m guessing Cara Dune will be one of the main characters. It’ll be good to see more of the New Republic considering their lack of presence in the Sequel Trilogy. I’m interested to see how it overlaps with The Mandalorian.

    Ahsoka
Being one of The Cantina’s resident Clone Wars fanboys, I’m naturally hyped for this. Can’t wait to see how it bridges the gap of her journey between the World Between Worlds and The Mandalorian!

    Andor
I wasn’t excited for this when it was announced but my hype has steadily grown for it. The concept art and sizzle reel really piques my interest!

    Obi-Wan Kenobi
This is going to be awesome! I can’t wait to finally see it after so many years of waiting; also seeing McGregor and Christensen return will be spectacular.

    Lando
This will be an interesting show. Hopefully it’ll feature both Donald Glover and Billy Dee Williams and show more of his Calrissian Chronicles. (Fingers crossed for at least a cameo for Alden/Han and Chewie!)

    The Acolyte
A High Republic era Sith show? Count me in! I heard that this was Headland’s show; I’m excited to see her take on Star Wars.

    The Bad Batch
I haven’t been excited for this show and wasn’t the biggest fans of the Bad Batch characters, but this trailer looked very good! It basically is Clone Wars 2.0 and I’m totally on board with that.

To make an adendum to this, I don't think they are bad or anything but rather this will give them 3 live action shows that will be distinctly their voice. Not even touching on Filoni's animated shows.

Let them handle the AT series.
    Give Rangers to someone different.

When Fennec appeared I screamed like a little girl. Good time to be a Star Wars fan. The Bad Batch looks spectacular! Seems to me like The Bad Batch is basically the 8th season of the Clone Wars, with the same creative team behind it.

Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor and The Acolyte are He only series which truly interest me. The other shows- I have to watch the pilots first.

But all these shows are too far away to really get excited about them.

All of this sounds fantastic to me! I can't wait for the future to arrive...

I'm excited for all the new shows, but the ones I look forward to the most are Rangers of the New Republic (I hope that explores the precursors to the First Order at least tangentially *), Andor (which will delve even more into the formation of the Rebel Alliance), and The Acolyte ('cause the High Republic is proving to by some of my favorite Star Wars right now).

    Exciting times! :D

*I had forgotten that RotNR supposedly takes place post TRoS. Thanks @Andrew Waples for the reminder.

No, wait, I'm confused (again).... is it the Rogue Squadron or the Rangers of the New Republic that will be set after the ST?

Amazing Annnouncements yesterday with only a very small grain of salt in a higher price for Disney+. But let's see about all those new Star Wars stuff:
    • Obi-Wan Kenobi: We knew about that one already and now have confirmation on Hayden Christensen coming back as Darth Vader. I'm really excited for the Kenobi-Series although the announcements have me a bit worried to. I'm not sure what to expect of Hayden as Darth Vader in a world 10 years after the Mustafar Duell. To me it seems weird to put him in the Vader-armour and have him voice Vader, when James Earl Jones is so iconic for doing that. So I'm hoping on a flashback episode there were we see Hayden. Maybe Kenobi, while on Tatooine, overhears Owen Lars telling Luke the story of his father he tells to Obi-Wan in the OT. Then we see Kenobi remembering how it really was...
It also has me worried that Kathleen Kennedy talk about a Vader/Kenobi rematch. I hope she was just talking about seeing the duel again and we get as Mustafar flashback. I honestly don't want them to Blast with canon again and also have Vader lose a second time against Kenobi. So hopefully "rematch" was just poor wording.
    • The Bad Batch: I love The Clone Wars and I very much enjoyed The Bad Batch. I'm really curious how this show will be done. After all we know this might be the first ever time we have poeple who serve the Empire as the main heroes of Star Wars on screen. Which is huge. I also wonder how they are influenced by Order 66 and what their view is on this orders and on the Jedi after Order 66 is finished.
    • Andor: I'm not so sure about this one. I like Rogue One (my favorite Star Wars film actually), but Cassian Andor is not really the most interesting character/thing about this movie. So having a series about him is risky imho. Although this will probably also give context to the rise of the rebel alliance which is great. So I take it! But I hope it is more about the rebel alliance in general than focused on one main hero in Cassian Andor.
    • Rangers of the New Republic/Ahsoka: I'm excited about those. The New Republic is very interesting and very poorly fleshed out so far. This series can give great context and detail on that timeperiod. I'm more excited for Ahsoka though. My favorite character getting her own show. I hope they do the character and the established goals justice (finding Ezra and Thrawn, Sabine with her).
    • LANDO: I never was the biggest fan of Lando tbh. So to me that series wouldn't be necessery, but anyway, I'll wait and see if it can get my interest.
    • The Acolyte: I don't know anything about The High Republic and I don't know if it is worth my time, but I'm intrigued that we won't have that era covered in books only. Maybe this also is a test on if a Star Wars Trilogie set in that era would be possible...
    • Visions: This sounds like a fun artistic approach to Star Wars. I definitely want to see this!
