According to Jordan Maison, video game is real but does not kick off Luminous as previously reported

Seems unlikely a video game would kick things off anyway. An unannounced video game is a long way from being released. Seems like books/comics would be where things start. Maybe an animated series.

 

I never thought that was true. Video Games and animation really takes the longest. I expect we will get books and or comics.

 

Mostly a book/comic is the launch. I would of preferred a 1 off 1 hour plus show on D+.

This project is panning out to be kinda fascinating.

It's been a while since we've had a big unified, multimedia push with Star Wars. I guess the "Road to" movements count, but this Luminous deal is almost starting to feel like what Shadows of the Empire had originally tried to be.

Very exciting!

 

I'm very wary about this PL (New abbreviation created 4 Project Luminous by created by me!).

Now I was cautiously optimistic about The Mandalorian & it turned out to be IMO the best thing Disney has done with SW so far.

I'm just below cautiously optimistic 4 PL right now.

 

It is smart to have Project Luminous focus on books. Books are cheaper and quicker to release than video games. And the focus of books has been (obviously) “story.” This is a superb way for Lucasfilm to test the waters to new ideas and concepts, setting up the new batch of films and D+ tv shows. I hope the writers selected (such as Claudia Grey) show their most imaginative skills as storytellers. I’m thinking of this entire Project Luminous as something similar to how Marvel selects content for their movies: there are hundreds of comic books, subplots, minor characters, etc to choose from in Marvel. Disney looks like they’re doing a similar technique with Star Wars.

 

Ok. Is this game the long rumored & hoped for KOTOR reboot/ remake/ reimagined / sequel / remaster?????

 

I'm hoping those two things are separate since they would be happening in different time periods but we will see. I'm interested in seeing the High Republic and Old Republic as distinct periods of time and political history to be explored in their own ways.

 

From a strictly business point of view the Kotor Reboot/Remake/Reimagining/Remaster/Sequel makes a Frick Ton of sence. Unless Disney is totally planning recanonization of circa 3000BBY.

 

I think they want to try something a little different for the time being. Something along the time when the Jedi were in a false sense of security and there was a sense of overall optimism. A hint of what they were in those days when they were more idealistically driven and not yet tainted by politics.

If they do make a game, I really hope they use Nordic or Germanic folk bands like Eldrim, Heilung, Warduna and of course Skald. Bands who combine indigenous instruments with modern methods to create a new sound. I know they did that with The Hu.

 

I just hope it's a console game.
