I noticed on my DVR last night that I have a pile of unwatched Resistance episodes....beginning at Ep. 3...I just couldn't do it anymore.

I was a diehard watcher of Clone Wars and Rebels, but I just COULD NOT get into Resistance because I felt that it was too "Kid-centric" as the dialog seemed drawn out, and the package as a whole seemed to cater to 5-10 year old kids.

I suppose that I'll just probably (and sadly) delete the series from my recording list and just move on. I personally just feel like Filoni either missed the mark with this series, or the series was intentionally shifted toward a younger demographic.

Either way, I couldn't do it, and it does make me a bit sad.

Do you watch it or not, and why?

I caught the first few episodes but then I too fell off. I didn't find any problem with the show really, it was a fun and easy watch but Star Wars animation, regardless of whether it's Clone Wars or Rebels has always been a binge watch for me. I'll catch up with it once the first season ends.

Yes, I've been watching it. I really enjoy it. I literally look forward to having some Kaz and crew time on Sundays.

I don't mind watching kid shows now and again. I know I'm not the target audience but I'm fine with Star Wars not revolving around my tastes all the time.

The interesting thing for me is that I liked CW--some aspects far more than others--but I really couldn't watch Rebels. Mostly because I couldn't stand Ezra. But yet I really like Kaz, who is often just a big ole goofball.

I guess maybe the difference for me is that the show itself doesn't take Kaz too seriously...except when it really matters. Like when Kaz and Poe found the abandoned mining center, or in the lastest episode, when Kaz (well, OK, and the gorg too) just casually blew up an FO ship and a valuable part essential to its mining operations...

Also I really like just knowing something of what is going on in the GFFA with "normal" people, away from all the drama of the Skywalkers, during the time of the ST.

I watched every episode so far, and I enjoyed them all. Not enough that I couldn't wait to see what happens on the next one, but I at least was watching every week. I'll definitely keep watching in the future, too.

It has that old-time "Saturday Morning Cartoon" feel to it, and I just enjoy the overall light-hearted theme of the show. You always know the good guy is going to win, but it's still a fun ride throughout.

I’ve been watching it pretty regularly. Not because I particularly like it, but because, well . . . it’s Star Wars. I feel it was kinda heavily marketed as being directed toward kids though, so I think it’s a bit unfair to fault the show for being what it was pitched as.

It’s a family friendly entry point designed to hook a new audience while they’re young and graduate them to older, more mature, content as they age. It wasn’t made with my demographic in mind at all. I was never going to buy any of the toys or apparel. I’m a non-entity as far as the show runners are concerned and I accept that. It’s . . . tolerable. It’s doing its job and that’s bearable for 20 minutes out of a week I think.

I haven't watched. But it sounds like how Rebels started.

That’s not a bad point. Rebels did ease its audience into increasingly dire scenarios. Mostly, at the start, you had the silliness of this bad of misfits running circles around the Empire like they were impotent nimrods. That issue never totally went away, but the stakes did get gradually raised. Something similar might happen.

Rebels aired on Disney’s XD label targeted at young teens though, while Resistance is on Disney proper aiming more at grade-schoolers. So a massive tonal shift won’t likely happen here (I wouldn’t think), but a more serious slant might kick up the closer the timeline gets to TFA and TLJ. I expect it’ll keep pretty light and goofy regardless though. That’s still the audience. I doubt they have much interest in subverting anyone’s expectations with this one :)

I still have to catch the latest episode, but I fell off after the third episode and binged the rest recently. I get the impression that Resistance is much better as binge watch - I know I enjoyed it immensely. Now I'm waiting for another 2-3 episodes to be released before I go on. :)

I watch it and haven't missed any of the episodes. Only reason why i'm really watching it is due to the lack of SW content (that isn't books) that is out right now. With that said, there has been a handful of good episodes that shows the potential of this show despite some episodes being predictable within the first 5 minutes of watching it. As of right now, i'll put it on par with the silly Rebel's episodes. However, SW Resistance is begging for a video game adaptation like a SW racer but it's not going to happen until Disney starts licensing out SW for any video game developers to use...

I don't watch it. I am 48 and, as far as I know from the trailers I've seen, this show is is aimed to kids, so it is not for me.
A while back, I was expecting a lot from Star Wars Rebels and I have been very disappointed. Didn't want to waste my time again.
In fact, I think the story that is told in these shows (Rebels and/or Resistance) is not really necessary to the whole saga. It's an add-on and not a prerequisite.

I'm a big fan of The Clone Wars and Rebels but haven't seen Resistance yet, mainly because I don't have the channel. If it makes it to prime or netflix I'll give it a go.

i still the love the show. i'm a little impatient for the BIG things to happen now that we know they're coming, and i agree that binge-watching this is maybe the best way to go. none of the "kiddie" humor bothers me (and some moments have been genuinely funny).

this was a lot easier for me to get into than Rebels, though Rebels ultimately had a lot of great stuff in it. i can see myself rewatching this show, whereas i have never gone back to do repeat viewings on either The Clone Wars or Rebels.

part of why i like it as much as i do is that it's all space ships and aliens and pirates and pilots. if you like stuff like TCW and Rebels, this couldn't be more different in terms of the characters and the focus. if your main meat with Star Wars is light sabers and the Force, then yeah, this may not be your cup of tea.

I watch Rebels and Clone Wars along with reading (I'm actually way behind on reading because I bought the Star Wars bundle on Steam so a lot of times I'm just browsing different genres of old SW games) so I don't have a lot of time left in my free time to pick up the new show. The art style kinda bothers me for some reason that I can't put my finger on. It's not just that it's animated because Clone Wars and Rebels are BOTH animated but it just irks me for some reason. I don't have anything against it but I never really gave it a shot and probably won't for a couple of years after I'm through all my reading and I finish Clone Wars and Rebels.

I watched the first episode. Clearly not aimed at my demographic and even the usual mass appeal of Star Wars is not there for me. This is a kid's show and that is fine. I will watch Clone Wars and Mando when it comes out.

it's like you stole my words.. ditto !

i really struggle with the wait between episodes, and the mid season break damned near killed me. I can't wait to get to the end of this season and binge watch the whole lot in one go ! :D

Yes. However, Clone Wars and Rebels were "kid-centric". Both "grew up" with their audience. So, I except the same will happen with this. The mid-season trailer looked very good. But, when I'm watching I have to remember it's a kid show. I wish though the movies were a bit more alien. The junkyard owners, I forgot their names they're fun side characters.

I love anything Star Wars and yes it’s very different to clone wars & rebels ( no Jedi or force lore so far )but even they initially had a lot of light “ filler” episodes before getting into the phenomenonal , amazing arcs . I loved getting my Star Wars fix on a Saturday morning with this show but we’ve had nothing in UK since episode 10 ( before Christmas) and so feel like we are getting left behind here . Hope to carry on watching it when it returns to Uk screens - whenever that is:(

I'm too old for that like Force of Destiny.

So far, I've watched every episode. However, lately I wait till my DVR has 2 or more recorded. I don't think it's a bad show, just a little childish from time to time, but still funny too. Either way, I'll keep watching because I need to stay current on all SW canon because SWRules. (duel)
