Best lightsaber fight in the prequels?

Without a doubt, I think the lightsaber fight on Mustafar between Anakin and Obi-Wan was the best one. It was also really important for both of the characters.

 

ObiWan & Anakin v Dooku (Episode 2)


To be precise Anakin vs Dooku minus Obi-Wan.

 

Anakin vs Obi Wan is absolutely the best fight. Anakin, an ex jedi, uses for the last time his jedi lightsaber and embraces completely the dark side by closing himself to Obi Wan and Padme. And the battle background is fantastic, a volcanic planet is something unusual and uncommon.

 

I liked Anakin vs Dooku: the rematch. I like that it happened so early on, setting the tone that Anakin was not messing around anymore. Also had my favorite Dooku line, "I sense great fear in you, Skywalker..."

 

Whilst it was one of the best saber battles in the prequel trilogy, I still don't like the way Anakin turned over to the dark side and how Obi Wan left him to burn alive.

 

Infact that is my second favorite battle, even better than Qui Gon Jinn and Obi Wan vs Darth Maul.

Why not? Sooner or later, Anakin would have turned to the dark side. Moreover, the fact that Obi Wan battled and almost killed Anakin is fantastic. Obi Wan and Anakin were like brothers, Obi Wan said that at the end of the battle. That poor man was in great conflict inside. Having to battle and kill your former padawan it's not easy. Same thing when Ahsoka battled against Darth Vader in Rebels. It is a strong decision but is something that has to be done to protect the galaxy peace.

 

Yeah, Obi-Wan vs Anakin/Vader in ROTS is definitely the best of not only the prequels, but ALL of Star Wars! Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon vs Maul is the easy second best choice here though.

 

But don't forget the battle Luke vs Vader. I agree that Obi Wan vs Anakin is the best battle in the prequels but overall I also consider Luke vs Vader. It's not just the battle itself but also a clash between father and son and of cours good vs evil.

 

I agree that there is more than just the battle itself. But Obi-Wan vs Anakin has other stuff too. Master vs apprentice. Best friends. "Brothers". Plus, after watching the whole movie and seeing all the evil that Anakin has done it's great to finally see someone put a stop to it. Plus the actual battle is simply so epic that that just about defeats any other battle anyway, haha.

 

Obi-Wan vs Grievous for me

 

I have to go with the most common choice of Anakin vs Obi-Wan. I like all of the duels but the last one is by far the best to me in so many ways

 

always maul vs qui gon and obi wan...it seems a little bit more natural to the ROTS one and more organic

 

I just loved the Anakin vs Obi Wan duel on Mustafar. Obi-Wan having to kill his own apprentice who is like a son to him as Anakin has turned to the dark side and for him, theres no going back. This duel displays emotion and really does a good job finalizing the PT. Not to mention how well the duel choreographed. And when Anakin is burning, nearly dead as Obi-Wan takes his lightsaber and leaves, it hits me. They had such a relationship and Anakin on has turned to the dark side, as Darth Vader rises. There are so many amazing duels in all the PT, like Duel of the Fates, and the Count Dooku fights are fun to watch, but in my opinion, this one just stands out.
