Bryce Dallas Howard is receiving a lot of praise for her work directing Chapter 5 of The Book of Boba Fett, and shortly after its release, DiscussingFilm's Editor-In-Chief Jacob Fisher posted on Twitter that she would be coming back to direct an episode for The Mandalorian season 3, according to a source of his.

After the outstanding job she's done working with Favreau and Filoni so far, this should come as no surprise. Chapter 5 might be the first episode of The Book of Boba Fett that was universally loved, and her work on both seasons of The Mandalorian confirms that it wasn't just luck. She is quickly developing a reputation as one of the most talented directors currently working on the Star Wars franchise.

    Here's Fisher's Tweet:

The Mandalorian season 3 is currently shooting, and if past seasons are any indication, it likely has around two more months left of principal photography. With this piece of news, Bryce Dallas Howard would be the first director confirmed for the third season of the Din Djarin show. We wouldn't be surprised to also find out that Dave Filoni is returning to direct, being the only other director to have helmed episodes in both seasons of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. Filoni also has the Ahsoka series on his plate, which will reportedly start shooting right after The Mandalorian. Filoni has written the scripts for that series and is assumed to also handle at least some, if not all, of the directing duties.

The day Chapter 5 aired, Howard expressed her excitement with the following tweet:

Bryce Dallas Howard's future as a director is bright, and fans can only hope she sticks around the Star Wars franchise for a while. With the amount of announced and unannounced Star Wars content coming our way, it's certainly possible she could follow in Deborah Chow's footsteps and direct an entire series herself.
