Man, I'm really rooting for Birds of Prey. McGregor looks awesome, and I'd love to see more of the other leading ladies (enough of Harley in the marketing material, already!).

But, like, what even is the DCEU anymore? Are these films supposed to be connected? Are we to assume they take place in the same universe, but will essentially be standalone films with nods to each other, rather than a full blown Justice League happening again?

It's such a bummer how clumsily these films have been handled (and, in my opinion, how overly-critical fans have been). All I want is a fun DC cinematic universe for heroes to play off of each other. Say what you want, but I think at least Justice League came pretty close.

After watching the trailer, I had a brief moment where I thought there was too much Harley Quinn material floating around. But then I remembered that the Harly Quinn show (from what I've seen of clips on YouTube) is HILARIOUS, so I'm all in for more shenanigans. I'm torn on Cassandra Cain's non-comicbook origin, but the rest of the new looks I like. Seeing different iterations of the classic heroes and villains is always exciting to me, so I can't wait.

Yeah, the DCEU is a mess. But honestly, It's kind of growing on me that way. It's like a wild ride where you have NO IDEA where the road goes, and there's a sense of fun in that. It's not good for marketing or business, but as a fan I can see the fun in it. DC wants to do a "inheriting the throne" type of movie, with sweet action scenes starring a character from two worlds (like Black Panther)? LET'S DO IT. DC wants to do a fun, if not slightly meta "coming of age" story that also has the value of friendship and family (like Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse), worth it. DC wants to do a Joker origin story that apparently has little to no connection with everything else, because they just want to have a really good movie? Enjoy!

RIP to all of the movies that'll never come out though (Cyborg, The Flash, Batfleck, Superman maybe). So long as each movie is good, the connections can be minimal and enjoyable. (But other than the Joker, each movie does seem to be connected. Aquaman and Shazam! both take place after JL, and WW's movies take place before. BoP mentions Harley breaking up with the Joker, so I assume it's after SS...and that's about it).

For fun DC superheroes playing off each other, the CW shows do a pretty good job of that for me now. I don't watch nearly as often as I did when they were just starting out, but I enjoy the episodes the characters crossover, and how they do live in the same multiverse. Need to watch the Crisis crossover event though, even if I already know all of the twists.

Man, I am huge fan of Flash in comics... hence I am watching the show of course and in the Crisis Crossover there was SPOILER!

Ezra Miller's Flash meeting Grant Gustin's Flash! That was one hell of a crossover!

I wish I could Enjoy The Flash again, but Season 4 was a turn off for me and I haven't been back since, The CW has gotten a little to feminist for my taste. Anime + The Mandalorian helped fill that void I got when leaving the Superhero franchise

I really hate the Iris character, in the whole series and I was thinking that nothing can top Iris, which I can ignore but enter Nora-West Allen.
She didn't act her age, was dumb and even that shocking reveal of her working with Reverse Flash didn't explain her actions. Both actresses are actually OK, but man, their characters are somewhat not sympathetic at all. At least, Iris got lot better in later series.

I kinda liked the Season 4, but Season 5 for me was really heard to watch because of Nora-West Allen, that almost stopped me from watching The Flash.
I am enjoying Season 6 so far as I like the new villain a lot.
What I really can't finish are Legends of Tommorow Season 3 - uninteresting characters and little action probably because of budget, as Atom is kinda not Atom since Season 2. I am for equality but Sarah Lance character is really cringey and combined with the actress that can't act, it is a dissaster to look at (looking at Rey, as Daisy Ridley can play a strong woman character for comparison).
Aaaand Arrow. First, I liked it as it was as near to Batman show on TV is it can get, so I did forgive them for butchering some Batman rogues and Arrow being more of a Batman than Robin-hood like anarchist turned mayor. But after Season 3 with Ra's coming after the top-notch Season 2, it went slowly downhill with Season 4 and in later Seasons, it was struggle for me to watch, as I have definitely stopped in 6 not being able to go forward... Maybe, I will pick the last one for being short and because of the Crisis event, but probably not. One of the lightsides for me was introducing Ragman, that was my favorite from comics, but maybe for budget constraints, he was quickly shelved.

Currently, I do enjoy Titans from DC series and can't wait for Young Justice.

I don't mind strong women, having one and living with her, but as I said, I am kinda annoyed by Sarah Lance in Legends, combined with her being annoying as both the character and actress. I am looking forward to Batwoman tough as I love the source material and did like what I saw from the CW so far. Gave try to Supergirl, but that show was pretty blast. Thus so far, I enjoy just the Flash from CW :)

Yeah Nora was a cool idea, but I've seen so much vitriol for her and Iris; which sucks because I like both actresses.
Arrow Season 5 was as good, if not better, than Season 2; and it's one of the few shows where I fully endorse skipping entire seasons sometimes (mostly Season 4, as I personally don't mind Season 3. It's it weird and strung together? Yes, but if that's the worst new fans will have to see, they can endure it). Season 6 was a mixed bag, and Season 7 was just boring. Like you I'll probably watch Season 8, but mostly due to the Crisis stuff.

Have you watched Black Lightning yet? Season 1 & 2 are great.

And a Titans fan! Part of me wants to check that out with my DC friends, but the major one will NOT watch that show under any circumstance, so if we did watch it, we'd all need to get super drunk first and then binge the show.

You could always look into different interpretations:
    • Marshal Law
    • The Boys
    • All Star Section Eight
    • The Hitman
    • Black Summer
    • No Hero
    • Supergod
    • Irredeemable
    • Incorruptible
    • Promethea
    I hope this helps.
