    I'd say Force Awakens.

I am on the fence with this. I love the whole trilogy but I often think TROS could have been first in the trilogy. I only think this because of palpatines return and reys connection. We could of had 2 other movies exploring her dark and light roots with kylo ren still being a key character ofc......apart from that though TROS is one of my favourites because it has a lot of gripping moments in it which propels the franchise into greatness for a final time..........For the time being that is :D

It's The Force Awakens for me. It feels like it's the most well-rounded ST film. It 'feels' like the best watch.

TLJ is brave and so fresh, but a few things let it down for me. TROS has magical moments, but trips over it's own story in my opinion.

Yeah I also love The Force Awakens, it is such a good start to a trilogy and for me there is little faults in it. I think all of the sequel films are pretty decently put together and they are such cinematic films. I have to say that TROS is my favourite because it is so so gripping although the story can lack in parts !

I truly found TROS's story to be engaging at all points. The biggest issue to me was just the pacing of the film. It lingers on some plot points too long, and it moves away from other plot points too quickly. I legitimately believe the entire film has the capacity to be as emotionally gripping and thematically captivating as the Han and Kylo scene if the film was given time to breath (which likely entails cutting out a few things). To me, TROS is always "better" after the first viewing because you already know what's going to happen and you have the ability to see the story for what it is.

The Last Jedi for me and it isn't particularly close.
I find it fun, funny and engaging.

TFA is a nice fun chill watch where I can zone out for it.

TROS is fine background noise while I'm doing some other project I guess.

The Last Jedi by at least 12 parsecs.

I wish Johnson had done the entire trilogy even if we had to wait three years between each to allow enough time.

I like The Force Awakens quite a bit. I enjoy The Rise of Skywalker as long as I never think about the beautiful, nostalgic mess that lacks verisimilitude well beyond any other film in the series.

As far as I'm concerned it is the ultimate fan flick and a false conclusion but I like the pieces enough to actually like it but I will never respect it nor believe it.

It would probably be controversial no matter which one I pick, but I have to go with TLJ. No matter it’s faults I am just glad it felt new. That’s what I want. I want a new experience when I go to see a film.

    The Force Awakens

It's the one I would re-watch the most, and it gives considerable screen time to BB-8.

    Thanks.
TLJ is my fave, far and away. I liked TFA very much but TLJ is an outstanding film. I enjoyed its visuals, it's storyline which constantly sprang surprises but most of all the acting. Everyone acted their little hearts out but Driver and Hamill blew me away.

I also liked how RJ developed all the characters...particularly Poe, who was at his most interesting here, especially as his character was only slated for a cameo in TFA. And he scored a big winner removing Adam Driver's mask.

I think part of my complete and utter loathing for TROS stems from how 90% of it was retconning TLJ.

Try reading TROS novelization by Rae Carson, it might help with the retcon of TROS.

I absolutely adore TLJ and thought TRoS was fine. Actually, apart from the dagger plot -- which admittedly is pretty dumb and broken -- TRoS was a whole lot of fun! To me, I don't see any retcons in TRoS, just different perspectives and further reveals of the ongoing, onion pealing of the overall plot. Also, despite Rose being one of my very favorite SW characters ever, I didn't feel her deminished role in TRoS was a problem; she fulfilled her role in TLJ -- had her full character arc and everything -- and that she had less to do in the last one was no problem for me. (Now, I'd love to see her having a new role in later shows and films, however; she'd be great as a passing-the-torch character between the ST and whatever comes after).

For me, the ST film rankings go:
    TLJ
    TRoS
    TFA

    TRoS is fun
Some parts of TLJ annoy me but I like luke and the third act
And TFA is ANH but better, in my opinion
