A few extra notes from watching the show with my dad:

First is that I didn't fully appreciate how gorgeous this show was. When I watched it the first time I was watching it on my phone at half-size via Discord so I could watch it with my friend half-way around the world (no regrets here - I plan on doing that every week!). But the quality suffers because of that. On a nicely sized television, I can see all of the details I missed otherwise, and boy-HOWDY does that make a difference!

Second is the music. I love it. It's different from the other shows, but pays enough reverence to what came before when necessary. It's great.

Third is the voice acting. @Andrew Waples said it earlier this week I believe, but Dee Bradley Baker is NOT getting enough credit for this show. He's crushing it, and I'm still in awe every time.

Fourth, I can't believe how much I missed this style of animation. I don't know if it's the increased quality, the beautiful cinematics, or the unique aesthetic of the time, but I weirdly want all of my Star Wars shows to be like this from now on. (This is a bad thing of course, as every show should have it's own unique stamp and identity, and leaning too far into the similar style won't allow other shows to carve their own mark on the Star Wars universe...and yet, if I had to choose between Rebels having TCW's animation and it's current one, I'd take TCW animation any day of the week.)

Lastly, who's liking this show. I have a friend who I've been trying to get to watch TCW for years, and this show was the tipping point. He LOVES the Dad Batch, which threw me for a big loop. He also really likes The Mandalorian, and once he realized Filoni was behind both of them and also TCW, he dove straight into the series. I'm curious of what he'll think of Rebels if/when he gets to it.

On the flip side, my dad, who enjoys TCW and Rebels didn't really care for this show. He had some really weird (and incorrect in a LOT of different ways) comments about it, which felt out of character for him, but besides those things, it was weird. He went from wanting to watch half of the episode, to the whole episode, to not caring about it. If I had to make a guess, I'd say it was Omega who turned him off.

Other than that, I don't have much to add. I liked how the latest episode tied back into TCW's characters, and I like how we're on the trail of one clone commander who's name is a homonym of one Krogan mercenary we all know and love. I still think bringing back Freddie for Kanan's voice was a bad move, and I still think using Saw is a crutch. But hey, I'm 100% into the show now, if only for the music and visuals, so that's good.

    Episode 3 was too dark!

I don’t mean dark subject matter. I mean I seriously couldn’t see what the heck was going on.

I for one am definitely enjoying the show a lot more than I expected. I'm very intrigued and I'm especially surprised I'm okay with Omega

I wouldn’t think he would face execution. Killing Krell was more than justified. And with BB, I think we will see more clones who were defective or got their chips removed some how.

I liked episode 3. Those clone trooper dressed on all black are really cool. I kinda like Crosshair too. There was some dark subject matter like when that squad killed those rebels and civilians. Im sorry. Can someone teach me how to do spoiler tags lol

Yeah, when I was writing my post, I was like "hmm, maybe I am on to something" with Dogma showing up, haha. Agreed, we might still see clones whose chips malfunctioned. I also hope we get to see Wolffe and Gregor's story leading up to Rebels.

Crosshair will totally get a redemption arc and probably die for the bad batch.

Yeah you just reminded me of the Wolffe and Gregor thing. You can’t have those two men without rex. Don’t forget that Rex was mentioned in ep 2 of BB. Maybe in the future we will see this kind of story with those 3 clones.

I liked it too. Just saying those ‘too dim for daytime’ scenes played about as well either way. It wasn’t like that GOT episode where a whole battle was happening under a blackout curtain. “I just hear lots of grunting. Either people are getting killed or everybody’s doing push-ups in a windowless basement.”

I get Death Trooper vibes from his getup. Just throwing this out there: Maybe he becomes the "first" Death Trooper. Or his squad becomes the first DT squad.
Truth it, your theory is probably more on point than mine. Just spitballin'.

Wrecker will become evil. At least for a period of time. It's heavily hinted that the chip in his head is functional.

As for the more recent episode, It felt slightly more filler than the other two though but I LOVED the antagonist narrative part of it if you will. A solid 7, perhaps an 8 from me for this one, with the pilot being a 10 and the 2nd episode a 9. Crooshair's part of the episode elevated the whole thing to a new level for me.

I think we have never seen something be so dark in Star Wars animation.

Overall, The Bad Batch exceed all my expectations so far, I knew that the show had a lot of potential given its timeline and the possibility to explore concepts such as Clones' PTSD, early years of an authoritative rule attempting to preserve the political status quo and so forth. Can't wait to see what the show has in store for this season and many more to come.

Oh and one more thing: good soldiers follow orders.

Can't wait for the Stormtrooper story to reveal the helmet. I hope they make a big deal out of it, like maybe Vader or Palpatine designs it.

Also very interested in what the Kaminoans do. Yeah, Wrecker is going to have some issues, maybe chip related. Problem is same as Crosshairs though: if there's no jedi to kill then what does Order 66 really do? If it's simply "Good soldiers follow orders" then what would cause Wrecker to flip out if the chip kicks in? Croshairs is obviously feeling something regarding loyalty and his split with the BB crew. I think they're building this series up nicely.

Just saw ep.3 and it was pretty darn great! (Albeit very short).

People call this a filler episode? *sigh* People are very much clueless... :p This is definitely not a filler; it advances the BB characters' arcs, the overall series plot, AND it provides exposition on the transition from the PT Republic to the OT Empire, and thus offers valuable insights not only into the core characters and plots of the series, but the Star Wars franchise as a whole!

The episode highlight was the proto-Stormtroopers refusal to obey immoral orders (just like the non-Crosshair BB clones before them), demonstrating the strength of ordinary troops (independent thought and moral) and also the strength of clones (ruthless loyalty). This is fantastic show-don't-tell storry-telling and moral commentary! This segment also demonstrated a brilliant way of using a cameo/call-back to tell story-points; the use of Saw Gerrera in these 3 episodes has been just fantastic writing.

Oh, and Omega is definitely a super-learner. Again, she learned a skill (tracking) by watching one of the clones for 2 minutes, and she figured out the energy-feeder thing all by herself. Yup, Omega is a "super power-absorber", alright!

I have great hopes for this show. TBB might, very well, grow into one of my all-time favorite Star Wars thing :)
