Many fans haven’t been too keen on the cyber-punks that have been featured in this series — me included (although I do think the girl biker is badass.)

That said, I ran across a YouTube comment about them that stopped me in my tracks and had me reconsidering the whole mod thing. It was a reminder that cyber body parts have been important to Star Wars since the early 80s when Luke got a cyber-hand in ESP. I’d somehow forgotten that.

Even right from the beginning with Vader.

I dug that about TBOBF right away. Begging to remove some of the stigma attached to artificial limbs etc. And perhaps phobias about perceived otherness in general.

I don't think most people have a problem with the cyberpunk teens per se, but rather them being at Tatooine which feels totally out of place. This kind of aesthetic is something you'd see in the lower grounds of Coruscant, Nar Shaddaa or even Bespin (thinking of Lobot).

One thing that made George's Star Wars so good was that each planet had its own unique look and feel to it, and he made sure that these looks stayed consistent and didn't blend into other planets. He was a master at world-building. But this consistency is long gone under Disney's Lucasfilm, because now we have more and more planets blending into each other, and random stuff popping up where it shouldn't be. Jawas for example, a species that was originally unique to Tatooine, is now found basically everywhere, like on Arvala-7.

But it's just nitpicking, right? Why should one be so sour and spread negativity?

Sure. Bionics have always been a thing in Star Wars. The second draft for Lucas's screenplay had a character named Montross who was a cyborg and struggled with his humanity.

What's novel about the approach for these 'mods' is that their prosthetics are all voluntary. They've chosen these alterations rather than needed them. 'Body modification' and 'unnecessary surgery' is a very real subcultural thing in our world. It's interesting to see that blended in with an existing in-world element of the series.

I'm cool with the cyber punks, their bikes and the mod parlor but the issue for me is just those bikes on Tattoine. They would all work much better on Coruscant or maybe that place Din visited in the last episode

Doesn’t have to, no. But that’s the fun for me. That’s what gives me those ‘nerd chills’. When a story can do both - be fun in a vacuum AND reflect the larger themes? Even better :)

Now its over still trying to figure out how I feel about the series. I mean it was star wars so I enjoyed it, but for me it may have been better as a tv movie as it didn't really have enough story (and arguably budget) to last 7 episodes. Then save the Mando stuff for season 3 of that show, for me including elements from the Mandalorian and especially including Luke took away my interest from Boba Fett 's story, as I was more intrested in what was going on with Luke and Mando rather then Fett.

    Things I liked/loved

    • Spending time on Tatooine
    • Fett riding a Rancor
    • Fennec - awesome character!
    • The scenes with Luke for me was just Magical. Yes i know the CGI wasn't perfect, but every second I get to spend with Luke as a fully fledged Jedi Knight instantly makes me feel 5 years old again with a massive smile on my face, it just makes me sad that the show isn't all about him and his adventures
    • Seeing the beginnings of Luke's School
    • Krrsantan - uttery badass
    • Seeing Cad Bane in live action
    • Glavis station - looked awesome
    • The prequel references
    • Learning more about sand people/tuskan raiders society
    • Garsa Fwip & Sanctuary
    • 8D8
    • Some of the desert visuals were stunning.
Things I wasn't as keen on:
    • Like i said i thought the plot was a little thin, I think they could of condensed the first 4 episodes into 2 episodes maybe even 1.
    • The portrayal of Boba Fett as basically a nice smiley man who sees violence as the last option trying to be a crime lord. I don't want nice man Boba Fett he's meant to be a cool bounty hunter.
    • I wasn't a fan of techno biker gang for me there look and at times acting felt a bit out of place
    • Grogu leaving Luke so quickly, we just had a full season of basically Din Djarin trying to get Grogu to a Jedi, then he is back with Mando before even the next season starts. Felt very rushed almost like it was a corporate decision to get Grogu back 1asap.
    • i wasn't really a fan of David Pasquesi character and i've never been a big fan of Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto
    • I wished they had built up to Luke and Ahsoka meeting
    • Also a daft small point also is that I don't really understand how Mando having a Naboo star fighter will work when transporting bounties.
Over all its star wars and i love spending time in a galaxy far away.

I enjoyed the action and most characters with the visuals being great but I have to agree about the story definitely being weak! (Except all of the Din, Grogu and mandalorian show related stuff , I love that)

The flashbacks all should have been done in one episode with the rest being about the Hutt twins and local syndicate families focused on gaining control that would maybe lead to Crimson Dawn in the finale!

    Now it's done...

In the beginning, it was not so easy to have a story centered on the poor Tatooine biome.
But, the same Georges did when he opened and expanded his 1977 "The star Wars" world, once with TESB and ROTJ, and later even more with the PT, we must admit that the BOBF show did the same enhancement about the little world of Tatooine : it made it such a larger world.
The town of Mos Espa is a symbol, who reveals to be a great and complex city in the end, far from the impression of almost junk village it had in the movies.
The Mandalorian, once, opened a window on a new vision about the Tusken people ; TBOBF expanded it way farer. We learnt a lot. It was fun. Their customs, the lizard, the trip to the tree, the dance, the forge... all of them were such unexpected, informative, cool and enchanting moments.
Jawas! So they're cunning negociators, they're furry under they mysterious robe, and also they can date a human. Good and simple lol (lotv ?).
And what ? Banthas eat meat. So uncivilized !
Loved the great enhancements modern techniques permit on all those good'ol dudes : aqualishs, trando, weekays, they all looked so good and so living, far far than the latex marionnettes used in the 1977 movie. It was a comfortable yet simple SW joy to look at them.
As fans, we were given gorgeous cameos. By the force, did I dream, or did Black Krrsantan, Cad Bane, a top-convincing young Luke, alongside with returning Ahsoka and Cobb Vanth, actually came full live in a TV show, plus some solid moments with the Mando himself and the little green dude? Without forgetting a blink to Max Rebo. And that fiery rancor ride, by the dark side of the force!
The shots. The visuals. The landscapes. The numerous references to the larger SW universe. Some humor.
The story... OK, lets admit some moments were lighter than others, and the overall Boba's story and strategy was not to exciting, to say the less. The spice traffic was the needed plotline to drive the story - why not, even if we will probably never know where that train comes from. And were disappeared the oceans of Tatooine.
    In the end?
See episodes1-4 once. In the name of Boba and the Tuskens.
Watch episodes 5-7 multiple times, as much as you want : a thousand times is a good start. In the name of some pure freaking SW fun ride. And enjoy ;)

Well there’s a lot of differing opinions on the Fett show, but you can’t deny the amount of creative memes and content it’s spawned! :D

    Interesting video.
The part where the rancor is explained to be the brutal part of Boba, how, and why, is breathtaking, and so right.
Cad Bane being the "father figure", needed to be overthrown in order the "new" Boba can rise, was also something I didn't see coming. Even if I've already spoken about the parricide and the oedipal complex, both at the heart of the history of Star Wars.

Glad Boba Fett got his series, even it got negetive comments. I did enjoyed it and see like how he got out the monster to end up in Mos Eisley. Also knew there be flashback on what he up to. Also knew The Mando and Grogu will appeared, never expect other things. Never seen much Clone Wars, so I do not know Cad Bane, my brother know him. Guess some people are not happy on Boba defeat or killed Cad. BD-1 (start having it as my profile pic) become one of my favourite (I may have a thing for these things). Maybe Grogu is so popular, they bring him back, maybe he won't be a master jedi but he maybe more special than that.

I find the "making of" videos to be a great follow-up to the Disney+ Marvel and Star Wars shows. I thought for sure we'd get a TBoBF "making of" wrap-up show like the week following the end of Mando Seasons 1 and 2. But, alas, nothing has surfaced.

I'd like to cross-my-fingers that one is still coming.
