Geez, i just read this thing in one day, it was so interesting. That was the best Star Wars book i have ever read.

Does anybody else have any thoughts about this book.

Dark Disciple’s a great read; it’s my favorite Star Wars book as well. Each time I read it, I can perfectly visualize the story as The Clone Wars episodes they were originally intended to be. The ending really hit me in the feels when I read it again back in February.

As @The Hero With No Fear says, the concept behind the book was originally an arc planned for season 6 of TCW, and when the show was canceled, the idea was turned into a book instead. It's definitely not my favorite Star Wars romance, but what I did like was how it demonstrated how thin the line is between dark and light. I actually found this book hard to read because the Jedi Council is just so awful and corrupt and of course they don't even see it--for some reason for me it's incredibly disheartening to read it in black and white as opposed to seeing it on screen.

I really enjoy it! It's one of the Star Wars books I remember most fondly, and one of the very, VERY few I want to reread (other's include Kenobi, Master and Apprentice, and Lost Stars). I do have a friend however who couldn't get through the first chapter. Different styles for different people, although I'm sure he would have liked it had it been the four arc episode it was supposed to be. ...I need to reread it sometime.

100% Agreed. Honestly, I felt that way with Son of Dathomir and the Unfinished Episodes as well. Honestly, I wish that Season 7 finished all of the episodes with rough animations and even reworked the comics and books that were supposed to be episodes...back into episodes. Son of Dathomir was a PAIN to find back in the day, and wrapping up Asajj's story in a book, while necessary at the time, feels a little like a disservice to the character. And besides! If Star Wars is willing to retell all of its movies in comicbook, LEGO, and cartoon shorts after they come out, why can't it rework a book into its original format again?? And the Wookie-Clone-Yoda arc.

I guess what I'm saying is that TCW Season 7 reminded me of all of the cool arcs we'll never get to see animated, and that Dark Disciple, as much as I enjoy it, is one I'd also like to see reworked into animation. Would it have taken potentially another year for all of the episodes to air? Absolutely. And I understand why they didn't - Disney+ needs original content, and Filoni is a very busy man. But at the same time...man...what a season it could have been...

I don't want to sound ungrateful! I'm just getting lost in reverie...

It has been on my list of books to read for so long, but I can't find a copy of it anywhere online or in local stores! If any of you got a copy online or read the e-book version of it can you tell me where you found it? Would be awesome to finally get my hands on a copy!
