Is anyone more excited for a Solo sequel than Episode 9?

Only because I think RJ screwed the Saga so badly that there is no way J.J. can save it in one film.

I would say JJ started the process. He left so many unanswered questions that it would of been hard to explain everything. Besides he's the one who made Luke in hiding. He's the one who didn't give us any backstory on any of the characters and relied the next person to fill in the gaps since he originally was done with SW after Episode 7. It's okay that you didn't like how Rian treated Luke (which seems to be the main issue with people have with TLJ) but all the blame isn't on him. The blood is on JJ hands too.

After seeing how much I enjoyed R1 and Solo more then the Saga movies, I have to say I'm more excited for standalone movies. Ironically, I felt the exact opposite of how I feel now when they announced these movies back in 2012. I think the Saga movies get hamstrung in their storytelling because it seems they have to do this and that to please the fans, or go the exact opposite direction in TLJ. R1 and Solo were able to tell their own story with their own characters, while still respecting the SW lore that came before it.

    My Solo sequel plot:
1- Solo and Chewie are working for Jabba, but have to drop a shipment due to Imperials. Jabba hires Fett.
2- Fett tracks them down, they escape. Fett finds them again.
3- Big battle, blasters, Crimson Dawn, Maul, and fun stuff. Han out-pilots Boba Fett to escape.
    The End

    Just a rough outline, :)(falcon 2)(han)(chewbacca)(boba fett)(vicious)

I would love a 2nd Solo, so much potential IMO. The ST lost direction after the middle act of the trilogy and it seems forced to have Palpatine return after not one hint of his manipulations in the background of TFA or TLJ. Nothing that TFA introduced was built upon and that is how RJ failed in TLJ.

Solo 2 would need to build upon Han and Lando's relationship.
    Crimson Dawn and Maul
Introduction of Fett, since Han and Fett appear to have background as well.
    Possibly introduction of Jabba

It would be fun. Though I'm looking forward more to some Old Republic stuff in the future.

If you forget 40+ years of... expectations, you'll see that the ST, R1 and Solo are fundamentally different things. ST is an epic story about characters in a world-changing conflict, R1 is an event-driven one-shot war movie and Solo is a western-type adventute story. So, it's quite possible to be excited for more of each of them at the same time, as well as for none of them.
The best thing is that we get more stuff for each. We get Ep.IX and the Season 2 of the Resistance, we get the Cassian show for R1 fans and we get the Mandalorian for Solo fans. Cassian show is what I want the most as of this post.

As for Solo 2 and Ep.IX, I personally prefer the latter for the time being. Out of Solo, I really want to know the ultimate fate of Qi'ra and see some more of Alden Ehrenreich as Han. As for Ep.IX, I want to find out what happens to Rey, Poe and Kylo Ren (don't care about Finn or Rose that much) and I want to see some space war with ships, fighters and lasers. It's been a while.

I am with you on the Cassian Andor series. I'm also looking forward to the Mandalorian, much more than TROS to be honest.

I did totally enjoy Solo and I'd love to see more (I assume if they ever do a Solo 2 it will be for Disney+) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE RO. Hopefully tonights trailer will pump up my excitement for TROS, because as it stands now, my excitement level is near 0.

If there is a Solo II, I think a differenf director is key. Perhaps Gareth Edwards, who directed Rogue One?

To be fair, much of the film had to be re-shot then stitched together in a short period of time. Ron Howard could likely do much better with a smoother production.

I did not know that. Enlightened I am. Please tell me more about this re-shooting and stitch work.

The film was originally being directed by Lord & Miller (directors of the LEGO Movie), however director Lawrence Kasdan complained Lucasfilm about the heavy amounts of improv and other issues. It ended with the pair being let go, and Ron Howard hired to take their place. Much of the film had to be re-shot, which resulted in Dryden Vos having to be recasted since Michael K. Williams wasn't able to be there due to scheduling conflicts.

I would rather see a sequel to "SOLO" than "THE RISE OF SKYWALKER". However, I know it will never happen. Pity.

This movie was OK at best but it only felt like Star Wars in certain points, in others it just felt like a generic Sci Fi movie.

I've read this before but I've never seen anything, at least in the movies, that indicates this. Is there anything in the movies that indicates that Han and Fett have some history prior to ANH? All I've seen is that Fett was one of several bounty hunters hired to find the Falcon and hung out at Jabba's place sometimes after that. If you look carefully, Dengar is also present at Jabba's in ROTJ. I'm not even sure it's fair to say that Fett "caught" Han or if Han was given to him.

Probably nothing directly - though the inserted scene with Jabba in ANH gives us Han and Fett in the hanger together, with Han making a remark about not sending one of these twerps, or something similar, after the encounter with Greedo.

At this point in hype, I'm pretty solidly excited for The Rise of Skywalker, but my wife and I couldn't stop talking about how badly a Solo sequel is needed after watching it in our marathon recently.
