Star Wars is my favorite above and beyond all. Nothing can touch it. Not even close. But Marvel is equally untouchable in the second spot. They have put on such an impressive run. They make it look easy, but let me tell you, if making a successful cinematic universe consisting of 22 movies over a decade was easy, then everyone would be doing it.

Being a Star wars fan, I especially love the cosmic side of things. Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor: Ragnarok, and Captain Marvel are my favorites. Iron Man was a favorite character of mine long before the MCU, but they way they've presented Captain America has vaulted him right up there too.

Really looking forward to Endgame this summer while waiting for Episode IX during the holidays.

The Force is strong with Marvel.

So, the new 2019 Lego sets have been released, including the Avengers: Endgame tie-ins which may or may not reveal some things about the upcoming movie...

First up, the Avengers Compound Battle includes minifigs of Thanos, Iron Man, Nebula, Captain Marvel and Hulk... which suggests the movie will see another Earth-bound face of with the Mad Titan, but this time Banner does manage to become Hulk during the smackdown.

The other reveal comes with the War Machine Buster set which (as the name suggests) implies that Rhodey/War Machine will also get his own 'Buster armour after the Banner piloted Hulkbuster armour was subjected to some pretty heavy damage in Infinity War
    [IMG]

Who knows how movie-accurate the sets are yet... for example, I'm not so sure that we'll see Cap on a flame-throwing motorcycle which is one of the other sets released
    [IMG]

...or that we'll see a virtual rebuild of Tony's Iron Man 'Hall of Armour'

    ...but there we go.

    The countdown is on!

So, these next couple weeks are the last opportunity we have to speculate wildly about Phase 4 before we actually find out where Endgame leaves us. What are you all hoping to see going forward?

I hope they start small again. They've really been pushing Endgame as the conclusion of all 22 movies so far. Instead of pushing forward right away with more huge events like Civil War and Infinity War, I'd like to see them repeat the process that worked.

Start a new Phase 1 with some carryover characters like Spider-Man, Black Panther and Captain Marvel. Do some smaller movies again with the warmth of the original Phase 1. I want to see them start to weave in the Fantastic Four and X-Men, but I want them to take their time. Follow the wisdom of the past--slowly build the characters in, give us time to be excited to see them come together.

Ticket sites crashing left and right from Endgame going on sale. Good thing my Jedi training of purchasing Star Wars tickets prepared me. I got in, got tickets to multiple showings, and got out before most even got started. Good practice for Episode IX!

The nearest IMAX theater to me is a smaller chain called Frank Theatres, so I had no problem getting my tickets and watching the rest of the world burn. :p

Aye. Mine's a small theater to (normal screening not IMAX). I was the 'first' one to book a ticket for the 10AM showing.

We've gone all in on the double bill of Infinity War and Endgame at the IMAX.
IW starts Weds night and then there's a 21min break before Endgame at 00:01 on 25/04/19... and then I'm driving home, getting 3hrs sleep and going to work :D

OK mind...blown.....just watching the scene from Iron Man 2 where Tony makes the new element to power his chest piece. Did you catch the label on the crate he opens at the beginning of the scene, to get the particle accelerator equipment?

The facility from the first Avengers where Selvig was studying the Tesseract was also designated Project Pegasus.

After some thought, I've put together my list for the Ultimate MCU watch/re-watch. In theory. This tries to connect the movies in a way that flows as well as trying to keep the chronology as straightforward as possible. I feel like I'll tinker with this a bit whenever the X-Men get folded in (maybe use Days of Future Past to "retcon" the mutants into the MCU? No idea. It's not important at the moment anyways). So without further ado, here's my list!

    Phase 1: The Avengers Initiative

    1. Iron Man - Always start with Iron Man. Tony Stark is our intro into this larger world that we just don't know yet. His journey encapsulates the Hero's Journey and despite how different from normal people he is, Tony's arc in this makes him human. It makes him relatable. We need that as the first thing. Not someone who stands for ideals like Cap does. Not someone barely connected to humanity like Thor. We need someone fallible. Someone who falls and fails and gets back up.

    2. Iron Man 2 - This movie is really here because it introduces us to the new War Machine as well as Black Widow, but it does other things well too. Tony's arc here becomes stands in direct opposition of his arc in Civil War, and seeing it start here really gives a sense of character development. This movie also sets up Tony's unresolved feelings with his father, who the audience only sees as a stickler right now.

    3. The Incredible Hulk - Frankly I left this off the list, but if we're doing a complete watch of the movies, it needs to go somewhere...The best thing it does is introduce Ross, but maybe it'll pay off down the line.

    4. Thor - Thor's origin story and continuing Fury's rough week. Introduces us to the Tesseract I believe as well as Loki. And we all know how big of a player Loki becomes.

    5. Captain America: The First Avengers - Cap's first movie as well as providing background on a multitude of things: SHIELD's origin, Howard Stark's in his youth to set up Cap's relationship with Tony, Hydra, the idea of the world of superheroes. It's an important building block and a fun movie to boot.

    6. The Avengers - The first true big step forward. Loki's return, the Avengers forming, seeing two Infinity Stones, shawarma, it's all there.

    7. Captain Marvel - I chose to place this here as I think it provides a nice epilogue to the first arc of the Avengers. We get denouement with certain characters and future teases for others. It expands the setting and shows a little bit of the galactic politics.

Phase 2: Peace in Our Time

    1. Iron Man 3 - Always start with Iron Man! Here we're given a smaller piece to reintroduce us to the world. Tony's PTSD and anxiety in this movie again make our favorite (MCU) Genius Billionaire Playboy Philanthropist relatable. Again, it's humanizing.

    2. Thor: The Dark World - It needs to go here somewhere, and this is the best place for it. Another Infinity Stone with confirmation that these are things being sought after moves the behind the scenes plot forward. Loki's ending here also pays off later. If the audience is a little disappointed by this and IM3, it'll make the next movie so much better.

    3. Captain America: The Winter Soldier - One of the best MCU films. It changes the game in terms of in-world politics and holds some nuggets for Civil War.

    4. Guardians of the Galaxy - And now time for something completely different! We continue the thread of the Kree here with our favorite ragtag group and see yet ANOTHER Infinity Stone. A heartwarming tale of friendship and family that is the genre shift we need now.

    5. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 - Let's continue the adventures of the group in another adventure that sets up the group dynamics we see later. Phase 4 stuff set up too potentially.

    6. Avengers: Age of Ultron - We revisit earth and finally see the team back together and meet some new characters while we're at it.

    7. Ant-Man - No denouement here, but a nice small (heh) story for an epilogue.

    Phase 3: The Infinity War

    1. Captain America: Civil War - Always start with Iron Man. Here we see how dynamics have changed and how people deal with it. Ant-Man's story gets a little follow-up as well. This sets the tone and the hero's allegiances for the rest of the Phase.

    2. Black Panther - WAKANDA FOREVER!! This story follows up on a some threads left by Age of Ultron and Civil War, and is the soonest after Civil War (taking place one week later I believe). It explores a new world for all intents and purposes, shines light on a character we previously met, and provides a nice palate-cleanser.

    3. Doctor Strange - I really had a difficult time as to where to put this, but right here seems the best place. This brings us back to the original type of origin stories, but we get a new Infinity Stone of out it, and Wong!

    4. Spider-Man: Homecoming - Another genre shift and a smaller story. Like Black Panther, we explore a previously introduced character and flesh them out. This movie builds Tony and Peter's relationship in a heartwarming way, as well as setting right a little something for Mr. Stark.

    5. Ant-Man & The Wasp - Another smaller story that provides a lot of fun and character relationships. The ending sets up the next few movies, but placing it here lets the story and the action flow. In my mind this is the "prologue" of what's to come.

    6. Thor Ragnarok - A fun and funny adventure that answers the questions of where Thor and Bruce are, as well as finally explaining Thor's vision in Age of Ultron. Valkyrie is introduced, Loki matures, and Thor gets a haircut. I consider this Part 1 of The Infinity War.

    7. Avengers: Infinity War - This movie picks up right where Ragnarok left off, and I believe that watching these two back-to-back is the best idea. Although if someone said that between this movie and Ragnarok all of Ant-Man & The Wasp took place, I wouldn't fight them. Part 2 of The Infinity War

    8. Avengers: Endgame - The grand finale.

Of course this is all subjective and subject to change. I personally liked having Doctor Strange after Ant-Man & The Wasp, since all those funny quotes about magic and misdirection would lead into true magic in the MCU. But Doctor Strange in that going from a novice to the complete master he is in Rgnarok and Infinity War in such a short time movie-wise would seem a little jarring.

I'm actually really excited that we have a few years before seeing Fantastic Four or X-men. I want them to use this time to bring back the phase 1 vibes.

How cool will it be to start getting the little references and hints here and there? Like a Weapon X crate in the background of a scene and stuff like that.

Soooo any last minute Endgame speculations before we see it this weekend?? (Please refrain from legit spoilers, I know some leaks are out there).

I think we will see Cap and Peggy have their dance when Cap dies. And I will cry like a man.

I also think we will for sure get some small hint of either FF or X-men. The Fox purchase as been basically a certainty for over a year now, I wouldn't be at all shocked if they've filmed some sort of name-drop. Like the mention of Stephen Strange in Winter Soldier. Nothing big, but enough to make real fans freak out.
