Some sort of Star Wars Galaxies style sandbox RPG. Either single player or MMO. I think I'd lose my mind if someone like CD Projekt Red picked up a Star Wars license and made something as in depth as Cyberpunk 2077 hopes to be.
I mention Star Wars Galaxies because that was such a good sandbox experience back in its day. There's a few youtube video essays that explain what happened to the game and the various changes that shaped it over the years. But essentially you could pick factions, including pirates, outer rim stuff, there was legit space flight sim mechanics too. Player housing with tonnes of decor options, same with character customisation and clothing. Droid engineers, weaponsmiths, bounty hunting etc. Jedi were part of it too, initially it was a very convoluted system that required mastering all skills in the game in order to emulate the difficulty of being a force user in the game's setting (between ANH and ESB). It's hard to describe SWG still, there were so many different elements to it. so essentially I want to see SWG 2 Electric Boogaloo.

I free-roam myst-like explorative game where you play a character hunting down ancient ruins and artifacts across the galaxy to piece together a great mystery and rekindle the power of a great temple or monument planet, and your choices along the way of how you choose to solve problems dictates whether you head down the light or dark side, and whether or not the planet reignites with its Force power as light or dark.

Basically, Myst flavored by the Kotor and Fable systems...just, without fighting.

Essentially, focusing on the non-fighting aspects of the morality elements of the Jedi/Sith ontology.

    Cheers,
    Jayson

This is actually a lot like the gameplay of Jedi Fallen Order. It's not necessarily free-roam but it's very explorative and involves a lot of ruins, artifacts and mystery stuff.

Sort of getting non-sugar chocolate frozen yogurt when you want fudge brownie chocolate ice cream.

Some spoilers for Fallen Order's ending...

My original hopes for JFO were that Cal would, in the endgame, be pursued relentlessly by Vader or Inuisitors, within the game's open world, with his objective merely to survive- with the game ending once his luck caught up with him.

That's not quite what happened (though the ending was still cool) but I do kinda like the idea of a permadeath sandbox survival game set in the GFFA. Maybe not even as a Jedi, but perhaps a smuggler or something. As you gain success, you also gain enemies- bounty hunters, Inquisitors, Imperial "entanglements", etc...

The point of the game is, ironically, to live long and prosper. Perhaps like in State of Decay, you can continue playing after death via other crew mates you've recruited, so you wouldn't have to start over each time.

Just imagine how tense that would make some situations. You're on an abandoned freighter to pick up a fortune of durillium when all of a sudden you see the silhouette of a IG assassin droid at the end of the corridor... Or perhaps you hear the sound of a lightsaber igniting behind you as the room is filled with a dim red light...

I think a No Man's Sky attempt at semi-procedural world building could make this game pretty immersive. You could fly from planet to planet in a system, and make hyperspace jumps between systems all in real time. Maybe limit it to outer rim world to thematically fit the game, but also to avoid resource taxing issues with trying to create core worlds like Corellia or Coruscant.

It would be SWJK: Jedi Academy, but only with the strong/slow stance left in the game, also no katas and only ja+ mp. The game itself is amazing, so there is no need to change much about it.

i'm new to this website, i came to put my idea out there. i don't know if anyone has thought of this yet but i think a star wars battle royale game.i can imagine a imperial troop transport dropping 100 players on the ground, then the players would disperse and find weapons, armor and power ups to eliminate other players and win. if this game was made i think we would have to make shure the devs dont turn out like the fortnite devs ;)

I think I'd be cool if there was a game set out in such a way, that its exactly if not similar to the original Battlefront II, multiplayer, and is not only the battle on a planet of choice, but also above that chosen planet in a space battle. So this would inlclude the choice of being on or above planets like Coruscant, or Geonosis and on the Republic, or Separatists, or on/above planets like Yavin, or Endor for the teams Empire or Rebellion. So basically any Battlefront, but in one world where, within that one world, you can play in space or ground (and switch when you like) and others play you in a one big battle. I do really like MMORPGs too, and Star Wars: The Old Republic does that well, but maybe if I could combine that with that first idea. To do that it would be some planets are all about battling and some would be specifically for quests and stuff like that instead (These quests may include joining an existing battle at the era you've currently joined). There would be multiple different eras to choose from, so like early Clone Wars and late Clone Wars, and early and late Imperial eras, even much later after the Imperial ears, or much earlier than the Clone Wars. Within each era would be the set planets and whether or not those planets are for battling, quests and stuff, or a mixture of both, and also the clearly set teams to choose from.
I somewhat tried to think of this within 10 minutes, ended up around that mark. I'm not sure if something similar has been mentioned or if I made obvious mistakes/missed something obvious, but that is my submission.

    @je'daii-guard that sounds awesome!

I really like the idea of applying Battlefront's large battles to an open world, and combining it with other RPG-style quests.

It would be neat to have some planetary quest lines and battles be linked, too. Kinda like in S1 of The Clone Wars, when Anakin and Obi Wan have to go to the moons of Iego while the other characters deal with the Blue Shadow virus on Naboo. Something like needing to break a siege on Malastare, so you go to a droid control ship above Rodia to upload a virus and send a bad frequency to corrupt the droids back at Malastare. Could really make the world feel big and meaningful!

And if you could play with a buddy (split screen especially) with you both on different planets, working together to get the job done... oh man, that would be cool!

A mix of Star Wars Galaxies and Cyberpunk 2077 or Grand Theft Auto influences. I want to cruise around Coruscant on a speeder and visit the jedi temple or go to a bar and have an option to smoke death stix with aliens then travel to other worlds depending on my class as a bounty hunter, jedi, smuggler, ordinary nobody trying to become somebody in the galaxy, etc.

I think there's cool potential to set it around right before or during Episode 1

If anyone plays Cities: Skylines... a Star Wars themed city builder would be awesome.

Choose a theme (desert planet, ice planet, green planet, city planet), and the rest pretty much writes itself.

If you don't play Cities: Skylines, watch a "Biffa plays" C:S video on YouTube, then watch a CityWokCityWall episode of his MARS series, or even TwoDollarsTwenty does the Simpsons.

I think it would be awesome.

A game that you can "plug and play" with multiple characters, a sort of choose-your-own adventure but it is a story mode. So you play the story of the Star Wars Saga and it will be open world, too. Your actions can affect literally every single part of the story in infinite ways. For example, every little or big action that you do will have a butterfly effect on the entire star wars universe, in real time. There is no winning or losing.

You should play the EA online versions of the rebooted Battlefront franchise. This is really close to what they do. You'd like it I think.

@AstromechRecords I am by no means any sort of expert on SW games, but I would play a strategic-level space battle game. Kind of like Stellaris for Star Wars....are there any games like that? I would play it. Also, a capital-ship level space battle game like the old "Gothic" for Warhammer would be good for SW.

    Ehh, sort of.

Rebellion is kind of like that, but it's super old (though the much newer board game is fantastic!)

Then there's also Empire at War. Nowhere near as complex as Stellaris, and it includes some (rather underwhelming) ground battles, but it's pretty fun for what it is. If you've ever wanted to just wreck the Alliance planet to planet as you deploy TIEs from a fleet led by a Super Star Destroyer, there's some this game has to offer.

Would love a game covering either the rise of the first order or rise of the resistance. focus on splinter groups so they’re battles away from the main story, but cover that period we don’t have a huge amount of lore for.
Not totally fussed in what kind game (battlefront?), but something with a deep a single player campaign - love the stories.

Also, Luke Skywalker’s search for young Jedi to build the new order. Maybe tasked with finding five younglings, spread across planets - similar to fallen order but instead of looking for tombs, you’re looking for potential padawans on empire/first order occupied worlds. It’d give us the chance to truly shred as skywalker.
