Fair. I didn’t hate the scene at all.

In retrospect I definitely got swallowed up in the debate to the point I started arguing a more extreme point of view than I really had about the topic at hand just to defend my (not very strong) position.

To the extent that I brought down the conversation, I apologize.

Just a couple days ago I was thinking how much more I liked this thread than the ST ones because this one is WAY more positive... then I go and screw that up.

    Apologies to all.

My take away from this entire episode is that there is a group out there that does shoot worse the Strom Troopers!!!
It was nice to see baby Dr Zoidberg in the first part.

I was thinking this exact same thing today!

Would they be able to hide the identity of a female character(s) from being part of the show though? What they managed to achieve in keeping Yodling out of the toy stores then if Filoni/Favreau have said this actress needs to remain anonymous until the big reveal then I guess it could happen.

and the more I think about it, why have the ending of Rebels skip forward to after ROTJ and show Sabine, Ahsoka and Hera like they did, was a tv show already a splinter in the minds eye for Filoni?

To have The Mandalorian season finale be a link to sabine/Ahsoka and then see the ghost and razor crest in the final battle of TROS, fighting side by side knowing that they know each other would be fantastic!

season 2 onwards could all still be years prior and lead to that point in TROS over many seasons

What Yoda had Luke work on first, was lifting rocks. Lots and lots of rocks. I think rock lifting is the first thing all Force Sensitives work on. It's basic, no fancy moves, just lift it straight up and hold for as long as you can. It's what Luke did, and what The Child was doing, something he knew, was able to do and he had a great excuse to do it.

I'd agree, but I'd like to clarify that I think lifting rocks is important not necessarily because it's "easy", but because it's also unobtrusive to other lifeforms.

Lots of ways that the Jedi can manipulate the force could affect life, even if it's just a plant. But lifting a rock is detached from that, at least as much as possible.

Also, note what Luke (who at this time is pretty anti-jedi) tells Rey- "reach out". He's seen the Jedi's aversion to attachment as a problem, and is having her instead connect herself to the outside world by the powers that "bind" them. Yet, she's still doing so in a pretty unobtrusive way- basically pinging nature, but not affecting it.

Going back through the Clone Wars, I also notice Death Watch did not remove their helmets too much either. Haven't made it to Rebels yet.

    Nice word-slinging there.

Guys, do you consider Rey a grey force user? I think the term grey jedi is not really correct as jedi is the light only user as sith is the dark only user, but grey use both sides yet they are not corrupted by the dark side. Do you remember that scene when Rey is fighting Kylo Ren on Starkiller base, she gets power from her anger, even I think her eyes star to glow a bit and face changes to anger, the same way Darth Vader gets power from his rage which saved his life on Mustafar. I am pretty sure in TROS we will see not only Rey going darker but also Kylo Ren going "enlighted". In general I believe neither jedi nor sith are good, as both are extremes of the force users, where the truth is in the balance.

I think that's an interesting question, but we're veering pretty heavily off topic now (I'll admit I'm partially at fault there).

If you'd like to make a new thread for it, I'd be happy to participate, though :)

Err Cara Dune seems rather young... Cassian takes place before R1. Mando is five years after ROTJ.

It's still possible. She's only 37 in real life, so lets say Cassian series takes place 10 years before this show (1 year before ANH), that would put her around 27, or worst case scenario, if the show takes place couple years before RO, then that would put her around mid 20s. That's of course if they base her character on her real life age. You got the show Better Call Saul (awesome show if you haven't seen it) which is a prequel to Breaking Bad and the show starts off roughly 6 years before the events of Breaking Bad using some of the same actors that was featured in Breaking Bad. So it's possible for her to play a younger version of her character in the Cassian series.

Roughly about 3 years between ANH and ESB, then another year to ROTJ.

    So around 4-5 years total.

Though I just realized, doesn't she say that she was conscripted for the Rebellion near the end of the war? That would probably rule out Cassian.

    That's what she......

Anyway, so that makes Mando about 30 years old minimum.

Joining this thread late. I liked the episode. I'm amazed with how much we can relate to Mando's character without ever seeing his face. I felt like we really got to know him...he did a lot more talking in this episode.

@Kato Sai please don't leave. We've had some great discussions. When someone is rude to me I just ignore them and focus on people who can debate in a healthy, reasonable way. I hope you reconsider.

Definitely. I'll do you one better- this is the worst thing I've seen Star Wars related since ATOC.

This episode was objectively awful, and I can't believe people can't just be more honest about star wars stuff.

The farmers or whatever seemed like they were out of a skit. The raiders seemed like they were from a bad star trek episode.

The dialogue, the production values, everything was cringe worthy.

The gaps in logic in this episode were almost insulting. Mando and that terrible actress did all of that extra stuff to trap the ATST, why didn't he just go get his ship?

They turned those farmers into fighters that quickly, huh?

Why would the Mando have to move on from the planet because wrestler woman is there, he can't just go to a different town?

Mando and widow are vibing like that after one day?? and she can't even see his face? That was ATOC level forced and corny.

Why would Mando think the yoda tracker (which is the worst plot device in star wars ever, even worse than hyper space tracking) just wouldn't work on this particular planet?

Why did he take his helmet off clearly view of so many kids?

He is over-the-top protective of baby yoda EVEN IN THIS EPISODE (not wanting him to go play), but he leaves him with a waitress he just met??

The show is somewhat interesting, but slow. I get the western theme is kind of cool but for the love of Obi-Wan, do they have anything else? They are really just beating us over the heads with "look! western in space!" This episode was so terrible I'm considering bailing.

Why can't some of yall just admit this was rough? Some things are subjective. This was objectively bad. Stop letting them insult your intelligence.
