I get that but at the same time, this wears thin eventually.
    It's concept art in motion.

If they want to draw it out, that's fine but they can't completely abandon the story in the process. It's like they couldn't decide if it was going to be a procedural with a different bounty every so often or one long arc.

That and... we actually didn’t see her die. She was shot and then he talked to her but... did she die?

Have you identified the starfighter? Quite interesting design.

The planet from ep. 1/2/3 is Navaro ( name is not very original but ok ).

Tatooine is not the same as we remember it, but a lot of years went in between. I am somehow happy that it is still a lonely place to be.

Killing the assassin is such a waste. Unbelievable. Who wrote that script?

The man from the closure is having droids, the sound of them can he hearth in the beginning of the scene. The clacking sound is very interesting, my first thought was Darth Maul, is that possible? Most probably this is the sheriff or the man in the black armor which can be seen in the trailer.

Sure, but ... it's been two episodes.

And I'm certainly not saying that the final three episodes are all going to follow suite as well- I think there's no doubt that there'll be some sort of big series of developments in this latter half of the season, still.

Just agreeing that I'm sure there won't be much of sense of "finality" this year. After all, Season 2 is already confirmed (and either in the writing or maybe even filming process, if I recall correctly?)

That's a quarter of the season though. If this were a 22 episode show...different story.

I believe s2 is filming now.

I just think this feels like it could have easily been an X-Files Monster of the Week type episode that just sort of worked this story into it. IDK. I'm probably over thinking it.

I think you kind of get similar things in the Netflix Shows and even the later GoT seasons. There's so much to do and so little time to do it, that episodes like this tend to be looked back on as "was this necessary".

I'd prefer the baby Yoda situation to be resolved this season and an entirely new challenge for the second season.

I wonder where Baby Yoda is during the sequels. You don't think... they wouldn't..... could something happen to him?

It's what I love of the new SW, see "old things" like this.

Edit: with the shadows and forms on the left river in aerial photo, we can see clearly they have used the old panoramic one but with filters and some changes.

I can see where you're coming from.

I think part of this all comes down to how it all ties together.

I assume we'll see Cara in the future, Fennec probably as well. Maybe even Omera.

How they play into this, and what they (or the Mandalorian) may have learned during these episodes might just makes these a bit more important in hindsight.

Take Rebels, for instance. I'm not sold on Filoni's claim that there wasn't a single filler episode in Rebels, but I do think that in hindsight some ended up being a lot more important than they initially appeared.

I can agree with all of that. and after all, we're just opining as we go along for the ride.

If this is something that will cover multiple seasons with one arc, that's fine. It's bold and an impressive undertaking. I just wish they would advertise it as such then I wouldn't feel like that finish line is coming up at full speed with a brick wall 5 yards behind it lol

Well according to Rian Johnson, he saw him while they were filming S2.

I think (and this is just my opinion) that The Mandolorian is only set in the Star Wars Universe. We get a lot of what we know and love sure but, I don’t think they will bring in well known characters. The show feels like it’s building it’s own momentum and I wouldn’t want to see them build in confines to what they can do with the story.

I feel like whoever spurs is, he’s/she is going to be someone new with a history the fans know (like having an ex-shocktrooper show up, or a sith remanent ). I think it would be great to see a Mandolorian and a Jedi/Sith go all out. Most of their tech was made to fight Jedi anyway (Mandolorian-Jedi war). Then again it could be a Bounty Hunter with old separatist droids. That would be good too because ,as we saw in chapter 4, Mando hates them*. (More then likely it’s just a scout for the commander in black armor from the trailers)

I feel like the show creators are going to introduce a new character and we are going to love to hate them.

*Looks like a Droidka was what opens the hatch after Mando’s parents are killed in his flashback 81E28879-4AF2-49A7-BAF7-979197E50CE6.png

I thought as the camera moved up, it was going to be Greef Karga, but when they didn't show who it was I thought it must be someone else, somene new (to the series at least), because it wouldn't make sense to not show someone we've already seen around.

My guess is it's Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito). The Client really wanted the kid, and he was former Emprie, so it would kinda make sense that another former Imperial would be after Mando and he kid. There's definitely more to the story. Also, Gideon does have a cape.

I really think fennec survived. And she wont be happy.

Whomever it is that comes upon her in the desert is going to be important going forward. I suspect that is the most important plot development of the episode. I think if mando thinks he's had it tough- he aint seen nothing yet.

Very old school. Made me feel like a kid again watching RotJ.
The bounty hunter is Cad Bane I think.

It's not a "I really think" she survived, it's she survived. There was no point of showing that shot otherwise.

The mysterious character walking on spurs upon Ming Na's body is...
Boba Fett!!! I haven't given up on this Space DAD series yet! The ultimate confrontation: Boba Fett versus the Mandalorian. source:

This was done in the old Legend's Star Wars Dark Horse comic books series. Boba Fett vs. Jaster Mereel. The Mandalorian's Ship pays homage to Jaster's Legacy. Therefore, the Mandalorian is Jaster Mareel re-envisioned.

    https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Jaster's_Legacy

Jaster Mareel is the bounty Hunter who wore Boba Fett's armor

    https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Jaster_Mereel

I still cherish my Dark Horse Star Wars comics. I hope that issue skyrockets into the atmosphere:cool:

Why wouldn't they just use the canon character who supposedly has Boba Fett's armor from Wendig's books?

Filler episode is being over used. It's especially silly for a show 5 episodes into a multi season run. This is as show about Mando. It's a rather small story that will unpack itself slowly.

That's a good one! It's canon ;) LFL can still cherry pick from Legends content. Thrawn... anyone? Also Favreau might of been a fan of that old comic book rather than reading Wendig's book.

    https://www.starwars.com/news/mandalorian-mysteries-who-was-jaster-mereel

George Lucas is a fan of comic books as well, for example; he created Aayla Secura from a character in an old Legends Dark Horse comic book series. Lucas was on set of the Mandalorian giving a helping hand, the Gunslinger episode is directed by Filoni. Jango Fett could also be Jaster Mareel re-envisioned. (Jango/Jaster).

Jango Fett's first ship, Jaster's Legacy looks overwhelmingly like the Mandalorian's ship, same exact design.

Furthermore, Favreau voiced Pre Vizsla in TCW TV series. He also voiced Pas Vizla in the Mandalorian chapter 3 The Sin a descendant of Pre Viszla. Jaster Mereel fought Tor Viszla also related to clan Viszla, a member of Death Watch in Dark Horse comic book series.
