I really liked Chapter 6. I enjoyed it much more than I did Chapter 5 ( which I still enjoyed but I felt was the weakest of the episodes. There definitely was a real tension throughout this episode which I thought played really well. I loved when Mando was stalking the others one by one. I think it was shot and directed excellently. I also laughed out loud at the end when “Baby Yoda” looked at his hand when Zero was destroyed like “I did that”. While I liked the mercenary crew, I was not a big fan of Xi’an (sp?). She was kind of off putting to me.
While I respect the opinions of those who feel like the overarching story is not being addressed and needs to be pushed forward before the season, I do not share it. As others have said on this thread, there is going to be more than just one season so slow playing the big theme while learning more about our main character and his motivations is perfectly fine and that is what they are doing. While we all live “Baby Yoda” and he is a big part of the show, he is mainly the MacGuffin. The Mandalorian is the main and title character. While at the end of “Baby Yoda’s” arc he might end up playing a larger role, his role right know is to be the change agent that turns the Mandalorian from a killing bounty hunter/ mercenary to the man we are watching him develop into. There has been a huge change from the guy who sliced a fleeing man in half in the first episode to the one who hunted down and captured but not killed the crew that double crossed him and was out to get him. Now when it comes to the Obi Wan series I expect more urgency to push the plot forward as we know that it is a limited series of just one season.

I’m looking forward to Chapter 7. Deborah Chow hit it out of the park in Chapter 3. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.

One last point. It is obvious that Mando is finding there are not many he can trust. I think in the last two episodes that is where Cara Dune is going to come back in because he can trust her.

I have not read this but I watched it tonight. It is a Shame Feloni did not do all 3 of the ST. I’m in love with Mando and Baby Yoda. Similar to Ahsoka.

I’m not sure if anyone has already mentioned this, but— omg —the sound of the three x-wings “blupping” out of hyperspace was pure, elegant beauty.

And “pilot Filoni” almost sounded amused when he said: “Looks like they’re launching a gunship.”

Short scene, but delicious. Especially for those of us who relished the old x-wing simulator games. I didn’t realize that ALL of the x-wing pilots (Jib Dodger, Trapper Wolf, Sash Ketter) -were writer/directors... that’s bloody lovely.

From this already great episode, this was an ultimate “icing-on-the-cake” -scene.

Episode 6- overall, this episode was pretty great. Some pros and cons.

On the upside, right from the beginning, you knew this job was going to go sideways. Even before he met his crew, you just knew. The tension built throughout the episode was perfect. Solid direction. It brought a new feeling to star wars, and although it was a bit shaky at first, it developed fantastically. I loved the plot of this episode. I loved the easter eggs. I loved the double crosses. And although i wasn't fully sold on most of the crew's in universe portrayals, i was totally sold on them being dirtbags, so kudos.

It was nice to see that although this episode maintained the primarily procedural nature of the show, this episode gave us a glimpse into the mando's background.

The downsides, for me- although i generally don't care about swearing, "smart @ss" didn't feel like star wars lingo. I've noticed other American idioms that don't fit as well like "lunch money" and so forth- these sorts of phrases don't seem in place the GFFA and they can pull you out of it- they seem like placeholder phrases that were never replaced with appropriate in universe dialogue. Its a nitpick, but it keeps occuring.

I've also noticed throughout the series, some of the actors just don't feel like they're in star wars- even if they are supposed to be a bit silly, typically the actors in star wars play their parts more earnestly. This is a problem i notice in marvel movies- everybody is so busy being clever that they sometimes forget to be authentic. In my mind, the blue guy in ep1, the rookie bounty hunter in ep5, and the crew in this episode (other than clancy Brown, who is always great) felt out of place. Also, the ep6 crew's costuming looked a bit too earth-y for me.

Flaws aside, this episode was fairly outstanding, and even in maintaining the mandolorian's basic plot structure, it brought a very new feel to the franchise.

Regarding our ongoing discussion about the over-arching baby yoda plot- I'm becoming complacent in the fact that this story is going to unfold more slowly than i expected. Filoni loves the lore, particularly force stuff, so i suspect patience will reward us handsomely here.

I do want to learn more about the client/imperial angle. And im looking forward to more of the mandolorian culture, current status, and the background of our main character going forward.

    Current episode ranking for me- 3/1(tie), 2, 5, 6, 4.

Looking forward to a probably intense chapter 7!

Some imperial credits ... I know that these don't go so well, but should be ok for starship fuel and urgent repairs ...

I have this theory that the Client is not so much after baby Yoda, but he is having something with Mandalorians. The empire purged mandalorians looting their beskar, it's true - the beskar is very rare and valuable but without mandalorian blacksmith is almost useless. The knowledge how to forge beskar is mandalorians most kept secret. So after they purged the mandalorians they realized that they need them to forge the beskar. Here comes the Client, having a lot of beskar, searching for blacksmith. I am very curious to what happened with the enclave on Nevarro, did they managed to escape?

Bad words are bad words because we teach they are bad words. Better to teach your kids what is right and wrong and let them experience life as it really is.

This was probably my favorite episode of the season so far. I loved the crew being psychotic killers (the fact the Mando used to run with them without a problem shows some growth on his part). I loved the betrayals, I loved the gritty feel of the crew's ship juxtaposed with the sterile nature of the New Republic transport. The fights were good too. Overall the tension and design really sold this episode to me.

They are already (officially) working on the second season, so we have at least two seasons, possibly more.

They haven't confirmed anything but it's implied that it's going to be on season. I guess we'll see when the time gets closer.

I really enjoyed this episode. The hallway droid fight was darn good and I couldn't help but smile Baby Yoda looked down at his hand like did I do that.

This was the perfect cameo episode for Bill Burr. Glad to have him as a wise-cracking jaded bounty hunter. I kind of wish he could have been Dengar just because that would have been hilarious but I'm happy he's in the GFFA canon now.

Baby Yoda was fun again, and I love the back and forth he's getting with Mando like in the final scene. Mando saying, "I told you that was a bad idea," shows how they are becoming something like a parent/child or that Little Yoda is something like a pet to him. That moment with the droid and his hand was adorable and is how we all feel when some weird coincidence makes it seem like we used the force.

Overall, I liked the design of the space station and the prison transport craft. The long hallways felt a little like the cat-and-mouse scenes from ESB on Cloud City.

And I continue to be impressed with the sound design on this show. It has, more than anything, brought out the Star Wars feel that we all know and love and has helped make weaker episodes a little bit better.

Ah, sorry, I missed that. Until they start and see what they have we won't know. If they like it, they might extend it for another season like Mandalorian even before release, but I have my doubts. Mando's timeline is open, Kenobi's limited. Still, it's 19 years, anything is possible.

If anyone is interested in looking at this episode through the lens of Campbell/Jung/Bly, I recommend this podcast. It goes into how each member of the team represents an aspect of the Mando's shadow.
