+1, but at first I thought it would be a novel about Luke and Ben and I wasn't even more excited. Haha! But Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan is also awesome!

I wonder if Claudia Gray will use a romantic side plot. I really liked the romance of Lost Stars. Furthermore the romantic tension between Obi-Wan and Satine in Clone Wars seems to work too, so...

Is this the first time the duo has been featured in any sort of canon book material (Legends or current canon)? In terms of a book form?

There is Claudia's story with the same title in From the Certain Point of View (Master and Apprentice), where Qui-Gon shows as Force Ghost (also explained) to Obi-Wan when Luke goes back to the farm (and finds Owen and Beru killed). Great story and the most we got about Force Ghosts in canon.

I've never read the Legends, so I don't know. Some EU expert might help.

No, there was a lot of reflection by Obi-Wan about Qui-Gon, but no direct interaction. As far as those two went, I believe that it mostly had to do with Obi-Wan struggling to learn how to converse with his former master. I think by the end he was finally making progress, though I don't recall any big interaction between the two (as I was a bit let down by that).

My memory might be failing me though... I don't retain books like I used to!

    edit:
I just went back to the final chapter of the audiobook for confirmation, there is a lot of meditation by Obi-Wan in which he is speaking to Qui-Gon, but he never hears back from him

It's a harmless little book that I really doubt would do anything to challenge the current canon.. it picks up right after RotS. I would highly recommend it to most but especially to Kenobi / Tatooine fans. The audiobook narrator, Jonathan Davis, does a very good "Kenobi" and the dialogue is pretty enjoyable, and its an entertaining read at that. But if you're expecting a complex or multi-layered plot, you'll be disappointed.

I can't wait for this. I loved Lost Stars and I can't wait to see how Claudia decides to approach this story and the characters.

IMHO, except for Zahn, she is the best of Disney's new-EU writers. I can't wait to read this book.

Personally, I hope that's not the case... I would prefer if it was a pure Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan adventure without focusing on a plotline that would be a tie-in to TCW. But it's likely, to be honest... They like to connect and mix stuff in these novels. Something completely fresh from time to time would be a good move, though.

I agree. I don't need to see a romance. Just some adventures with Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon. I would love to see a father-son relationship between them.

we got too little of this too late in the PT; the Clone Wars helped, but yeah, i'd like to see an actual full-blown well-developed friendship between the two. make me cry, Star Wars. do it! : D

I wonder how far back they will go for this one. Like are we going to see the very beginning stages of Obi Wan's time as a jedi and more backstory on why Qui Gon was so respected by the time we meet him in TPM? If they're going to explore the dynamic from a father/son point of view, I think it would be amazing if they started from the very beginning.
