    Please, no disrespect in this thread. Yes, he lived a life many would call strange at times...but he was still one of the greatest talents the music world's ever had. I never got to meet him, but when he died, I still felt like I lost a friend.

    I love his songs.

    Off the Wall and Thriller albums are fantastic! Bad i like also and Dangerous was pretty good too. I didnt like invencible except the excelente single You Rock My World.

    I think "Invincible" is a highly underrated album overall, though its definitely different from what many were probably expecting at the time. "You Rock My World" was definitely the most popular song from that collection, but I also like most of the others. "Privacy", "Speechless", and "You Are My Life" are real standouts for me, though I didn't care much for "2000 Watts" or the title track. "Threatened" was very creative, with both monologues entirely constructed from audio clips of Rod Serling's "Twilight Zone" narrations.

    I'm more a fan of the Jackson 5/Jacksons than Michael's solo career, although there are plenty of great songs there. While Michael's voice was always insane I'm not that crazy about the production and musical arrangements on many of those songs. It just sounds like (with some exceptions obviously) they didn't think the music mattered as much as Michael's voice and laid down the cheapest synth/beat track they could manage. I just find his solo songs aren't usually that interesting musically although they have amazing vocals and melodies. The Jackson 5 had more traditional arrangements played by some of the best session musicians Motown could find, and Motown had some TALENT. Tito and Jermaine weren't slouches either.

    Listening the album Dangerous from 1991.

    I can't believe that it was 30 years that I went to a place in downtown to buy a fake cassette (cheaper) of Dangerous.
    Used to listen in an old walkman.

    Unfortunately I don't have that k7 anymore but It was something like this.

    Great thread topic. I grew up on MJ. When thriller came out, I was in middle school in Anchorage Alaska. Myself and a few of my classmates got a "band" together and did a talent show. We performed "Billie Jean" by MJ and "Jump" by Van Halen. It was awesome. Fake instruments n all.
    Thriller altered the course of my life as well as millions of others I'm sure. #mjacquittedandmurdered

    MJ almost made it into TPM as Jar Jar Binks I read recently, did anyone else read about this? that would have been earth shattering but I think George and MJ had creative differences.

    That's a bit of an exaggeration. Jackson offered, at one point, to play the role, and (quoting from memory), "George considered it for half a second before rejecting the idea as madness." (Something like that).

    As an example, Christopher Walken was almost Han Solo much more than Michael Jackson was almost JarJar ;)

    I like Michael Jackson since I was young and enjoyed his music. Also when I'm young I thought Michael Jackson is a woman.
