No but seriously I'm like a pretty cool guy I think. I'm self employed 35yo bachelor, living the dream. I like drinking, cursing and rock and roll. Im a rebel, but I'm still a responsible adult, most of the time.
I like Star Wars and thats my only nerdy vice, that and history. I wouldn't call myself a buff, but I find true stories more interesting than marvel.

    That's about it.

I hope this is the right way to do it.
    Hi everyone,
I'm from Italy (so forgive me for my English). I've been a Star Wars fan since I was a child and I've been writing stories since I was 13. In January of this year (also due to the lockdown) I decided to combine the 2 things and start rewriting the whole Star Wars saga.
A project that soon became much bigger than expected:
But I've come to a standstill, because writing without an audience isn't that exciting anymore. The initial idea was to turn the scripts into YouTube videos, but before taking this step I would like to understand if what I write can really interest anyone.
There is a fanfiction section in your forum, and I would like to ask permission to post my works there. I am open to new ideas, criticisms or suggestions. I am looking for references from the EU and if you have any stories or characters that you would like to have included in my version they are welcome.

I wish I could talk more about the project but I look forward to hearing your response.
If not, I would still be happy to be part of your community and I'm sure to find other interesting discussions to participate in. Thanks for the attention and bye.

Hello there. I'm Rob and I'm pretty much new to forums, but I do have a pretty strong passion for Star Wars, so I'd very much like to get used to it so I can discuss more about this wonderful franchise

Hey @Flying spaghetti monster I have seen you around here a bit and haven't had the chance to say hi....so....."HI!"

What areas of history are your most favorite to read about/study/discuss? I am a history nut too. Mostly military/warfare related history. My two main areas where I focus are WWII both Western Front and the Pacific. Also have read quite a bit on the US Revolutionary War and the Civil War.

@Angelman is also a History EXPERT on here and an all-around amazing dude....

Thanks man. Yeah mostly I like American History, but I get on kicks where im curious about something. Like recently I was obsessed with pirate history, before that I brushed up on Japanese history. Ww2 history is definitely interesting. I always thought the north africa campaign was underrated.

Thanks for the enthusiasm, I hope to be able to publish something, but I wanted to warn that I am not English and my books may contain various errors. Also I was used to writing short stories and novels, this is my first time writing screenplays (there are short descriptions of the scene and dialogue, but no introspection). Also I wrote fictional stories, I never had to submit to the rigor of a "canonical" universe (so many things are a bit different, sometimes I used characters from the EU but I totally changed their personality).

    Greetings. Just signed up yesterday.

I'm originally from the UK, but now live in Alaska with my wife and 2 young sons (11a nd 8).

Star Wars has been a part of my life for 45 years. Im 53 next saturday. Back in the day (late 70's and into the 80's) growing up in the north of England (Liverpool) was bleak. Unemployment was at an all time high, we were living in Prime Minister Thatcher's England, which was utterly grim and devoid of anything resembling escapism (except maybe two great soccer teams in my city), hp[e and a bright future. We needed something to hang onto, to grasp that made us all believe there was fun, excitement and a sense of positivity to look forward to.

Then, in late May/early June 1977 I remember watching the 6pm news. Among all the usual doom and gloom topics, a feature popped and on something the news anchor referred to as a "a couple of androids, on a daring space mission looking for long lost Jedi Knights, laser swords, The Force"....and something dark and looming, that I swear to this day was described as 'Dark Father'. Then a picture popped up on the screen of this golden android with shining eyes, a blue and white garbage can with legs, and this black caped figure that was absolutely frightening. Other than being completely intrigued what the heck I was looking at, I was completely gobsmacked that these characters were all standing outside a movie theater, somewhere in America. Being 8 years old, I of course had heard of America, and knew that it was on earth! For the next 6 months, myself (and what seemed like EVERYONE) else I knew, every TV show I watched, every newspaper or magazine cover I saw, was talking about Star Wars. Im sure America felt the same, but the rest of Europe was smitten, and just HAD to see this film.

I must point out here, that back in those days, major movies were released in America first, we in the UK and Europe had to wait. But for 6 months we couldn't get enough of it. Who are these characters, who are these amazingly 'cool' Americans who dress up like these characters, what are these incredible toys that are popping up in our stores......By the end of the year 1977, the excitement and anticipation for this movie was ridiculous....the UK, and probably Europe and the rest of the world were ready to be thrown into this galaxy far far away, and revel in its wonders.

The UK Premier of Star Wars was December 15th in London (I think but could be wrong) and it was coming to my local cinema in Liverpool just after the New Year (Jan 29th to be exact). Tickets in hand, queuing around the block, my first time in life experience of going to the movies, my dad and I were lining up to see Star Wars. It changed my life. And I'm still obsessed with it now as I was back then. Its difficult and too long winded, on this already too long post) to go into. Suffice to say I played with my figures daily, made up my own adventures, my bedroom was shrine....which all led to the best part of all this, the anticipation for the sequel, the actual viewing of TESB (a wealthy person hired and entire movie theater for his son, a school friend of mine, and all the school it seemed were invited to a private screening of what is, in my mind still today, the best movie I have ever seen).

    Let's speed this up........

My top ranked films in order, 1. The Empire Strikes Back; 2. Star Wars; 3. Rogue One; 4. Solo; 5. Return of the Jedi.
I 'like the PT, it has some really good points, but many issues drop it to my least favorite Star Wars material.
I really like the ST. Yes they have their issues, but to me they are MUCH more watchable than the prequels, and my young sons love them.
Our friends Mando and Grogu - freakin love them, and so far, the best non-movie material in the franchise.
The Book Of Boba Fett - ok, it has flaws, but I still enjoy it.
Animated series - love them all. Ranked - 1. Rebels; 2. The Clone Wars; 3. The Bad Batch; 4. Visions. The last 4 episodes of TCW - "The Siege of Mandalore" is the best 2 hours of TV I've ever watched, animated or otherwise. The episode "Shattered" is beyond amazing....and heartbreaking! They did SUCH a good job with this. It also helps that Ahsoka Tano is a particular favorite character of mine.
On that note, how do you pick favorite characters in this massive universe. To pick a few in no particular order - Leia, Han, Vader, Jynn, Rey, Darth Maul, Hondo Ohnaka, Kuiil, Mando/Din, Fennec, I could go on and on and on here......but Ill stop.

To conclude my long post. Ahsoka Tano is a favorite of mine because I think she has the best story arc, and character growth in the entire franchise. And Rosario Dawson nails the live action version of her. The Ahsoka series is my most anticipated upcoming show. As mentioned earlier - that Clone Wars episode "Shattered" - when she experiences the devastation of Order 66 with here clone troopers, is extraordinarily brilliant and packs such an emotional punch its ridiculous. For an animate show too! Wow!

Rogue One. Just a brilliant film. I rank it just below Star Wars for sentimentality, but I always watch them back to back now and it's perfect. The movie actually made you care so much for the entire team, Baze, Bodhi, Casian, Jynn etc....K2S0 was genius, and Krennec was a brilliant character too. Out of all the Star Wars movies released outside of the OT, I had the most amazing fun, and came out of the theater after the show believing I had just watched the 'most Star Wars' movie after RO.

Enough. Thanks for listening. May The Force Be With You!

    Spacejunk.
