New vehicles, droids and troops in Episode IX

Cool! This treadspeeder you can spot in the very first teaser trailer in that chase. I wonder, what reason there would be to have a vehicle driving on treads in times of repulsorlift technique.



That guys is followed by two regular jet troopers.



Now I wonder where the newly revealed Sith Jet trooper will fit in. How many jet/air action will we see?



Fascinating for me is the special helmet feature in the nose section, with mimics the mandibles of a spider or insect head.



It seems that the Mandalorian art of warfare still has a big impact on how things are done with individual, armored troopers.

 

Here we go - that Resistance fleet really is impressive! And it’s going full retro. So it should have been ‘Old vehicles’…

The Ghost is on the front line! And next to it, a U-Wing (lower left).



To the right, looking like a Hammer Head Corvette, and in front of it, in the lower right, a Wookie Gunship (formerly only seen as animated version). And in the lower left, something not unlike a Corellian Free Virgillia-class Bunkerbuster as seen in Episode 8 (The Ninka), but with much more front armor platings. And hanging heavy in the background, a Mon Calamari Cruiser resembling the ‘Profundity’ from the late Admiral Raddus, possibly the ‘Raddus’, the flagship of the resitance’s fleet.



Lower left: A Resistance Bomber (as in Ep. 8), and more Calamari Cruise in the background.



Behind the Ghost, a Nebulon-class Frigate in it’s full glory.



From the Clone Wars era: A Pelta-class frigate, build by Kuat drive yards (although clearly looking Corellian to me).



And more Wookie Gunships.



Zorii Bliss’s very oldschool looking Y-Wing single-handedly taking on…




… the planet busting giant cannons that those classic Imperial Star Destroyers were fitted with.



I guess these cannons can be found on more than one ISD. Also nice to see, those TIE Daggers and the beloved B-Wings.


@Rieekan, @Lock_S_Foils and all you other Starship enthusiast out there, what are your findings?

 

I really tried hard to spot any YT-2400 Corellian freighter / the Outrider, but I failed. Do you know where it should be @Messi?


@Travcon: According to the Lego Set you can already buy, it IS the y-wing from Zorii Bliss. With that gunner station on top, it really looks like the 70’s concept/Clone Wars 2-seater version.

I really like how they are breaking the ice here.

I never knew that those Star Destroyers were able to act underwater. Maybe a bit over the top?


And besides that B-Wing, we have some incoming A-Wings to the left of it.



Actually, it might not classify as a vehicle, but it looks like old Palp has kind of a walking chair here, seemingly moving towards Rey. With all the lights and tubes, it even might have some medical relevance, frail legs, hm?

By the way, I never realized that the Outrider really became cannon. I just knew of the ‘Sato’s Hammer’, as seen in Rebels, also a YT-2400 modified light freighter.

I guess this one could be such a ship:



However, with that low image quality, it could also be a different Corellian modell.

I think you’re 100% correct on this.





Guys, what do you think will be the destructive magnitude of those huge ventral cannons that quite a number of Star Destroyer now possess? Note that they have sacrificed the whole hanger bay area for this! Judging on the redish look and feel, I would say it’s old SITH technology used here.




Knowing an ISD to be just over 1.6 km long, those guns are about 335 m long according to my Photoshop ruler! It seems that Palpatine couldn’t let go this “size does matter" thing.




So what object is blown to smithereens here by that ISD, a big ship or even a complete planet? Are those Star Destroyers now living up to their name?




If we got more Starkiller weapons here, what does this mean for a totally mobile fleet of hundreds (?) of Sith Star Destroyers?
