I am open to the second season of mystical exploration of the Force with Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon Jinn and maybe some Obi-Wan Batman-like action like in the comics. But, I am happy with what we got and I don't need it.

If I had to grasp at something, I’d say that “the path” story element still has tons to mine. I’m sure we’ll see more elsewhere on other outings, but it’s ripe to continue it within this story if they wanted. Obi-Wan knows there are surviving Jedi out there in the galaxy helping those who can’t help themselves. It’s not crazy to think he might offer a helping hand.

Actually I didn't want her to die, when I was suggesting she could watch Leia. I just wanted her to do something meaningful after being redeemed without dying (unlike all other redemptions before). Unfortunatly that solution would make it likely that she would die on Alderaan. Otoh why would she still be there while Leia is cruising the galaxy.

See, I don't want him to leave Tatooine again. Leaving it for Leia made sense. The Path has its own caretakers. There is entire planet of people needing help on Tatooine. Plus, I'd like to see his and Qui-Gon's exploration of the Force.

I saw complaints online about Leia being the center of attention, capable, and Luke not doing much. Darkness has fallen in the world. The sun is down, and the moon is up. Luke is the mythological solar god, and Leia the moon goddess. It's not dawn until the original trilogy, and the sun rescues the moonlight from inside the dark new moon (death star)and she's freed from bondage. Sun's asleep and knocked out. Just a little bit of light on the moon.

I am still trying to work out what people actually like about this show, it feels like a willing mass delusion. Each to their own I guess.

This show will not age well and will end up like TLJ with its general perception I think.

If I may, what was it that makes you feel that way? Especially because TLJ is, at least, mixed, leaning positive (in my experience), in reception. At least I personally loved it.

with this, it’s some similar things. I loved seeing Kenobi’s mindset after everything that happened with the fall of the Republic, his seeming brokenness. I loved watching him interact with Leia, adding to why she sees him as her only hope, and how he grows through that, through seeing people willing to risk themselves to help other Jedi.

I loved seeing how Vader is still enough of Anakin and Obi-wan is able to use that. And then their final duel, his apology, the lighting on Vader’s face as they talk. The Force powers went a bit crazy, but….i found myself enjoying those moments in the context of the fight. And that Leia and Luke, protecting them, just who they are, is what allows him to rise up.

Reva was odd at first, but she grew on me and her story, and conclusion, works for me. And now
we might actually get to see someone walk a path of reconciliation, atonement? Yes please.

idk. That’s just me. And I honestly found myself enjoying this story far more than Mando, personally, in terms of the Disney+ shows. It was tighter, it had a nice focus. Mando.. only ever holds me with how Din and Grogu interact and grow. The rest is..eh to me.

Sadly, the sequels hammered home that in SW there is no redemption but death.

For many Star Wars is almost an art form, and with Disney churning out so many products in such a short space of time, consistency and continuity is going to be all over the place. As a product owner I sigh

I’ve made peace with myself in that for everyone good series/film there will be double completely mediocre to bad that follow.

Personally I feel they should leave Obi Wan alone now, and not oversaturate the use of Vader.

If they absolutely have too (I mean it’s Disney, they are going too) I really hope they focus on new characters, hidden Jedi (Vos - could explain him chilling out in Tatooine), birth of the rebellion bits, and perhaps Obi Wan learning from Qui Gon.

I do think if Andor comes out and it’s terrific, it will show this series to be fairly mediocre, although with a fantastic ending.

Disney are starting to introduce characters popping up in other shows now (like Marvel) which I find a cheap tactic - not everything has to be connected, you can build new characters.

I’m cautiously optimistic but Filloni is my only hope.

What this finale really struck home for me was Obi-Wan’s recognition of how much a Jedi serves as a beacon of hope for those who need it. He starts this whole chapter of his journey off defeatedly believing that ‘the fight is over, we lost’, and ends it with realizing just how false that perspective was. He regained his faith in himself, his faith in others, and his faith in the future.

“If you ever need my help again, you know where to find me.” I don’t think that offer is exclusive to Bail. That’s where he is now. If people need his help, he won’t turn them away.
Sure, I guess. But I’m looking at this more from the view of continuing unresolved narrative elements of the story we just saw. Helping to preserve the lives of innocents that are being hunted by a great evil is pretty potent and exactly the sort of thing this renewed Obi-Wan would put his energies behind. No?
No reason you can’t do both. Or rather, dovetail them together where whatever challenges he faces spiritually are reflected materially with external dilemmas. Dilemmas like: However much you might want to, you can’t save them all and Why does Obi-Wan want to preserve his identity beyond death if not for the benefit of others?

Anywhozel, I’m perfectly contented with this series. It doesn’t demand a second season. But there’s some really cool places they could take this story, if they decided to, that would be enrichments. There’s still plenty left on that table.

    That's beautifully said, eeprom!

Obi-wan also recognized that Luke has protectors in his Aunt and Uncle; he doesn't need to be obsessive about watching over him -- and shared these feelings with Owen leaving him free to help others in the gathering darkness of the Empire.

    PLOT HOLE!
At the end of part 6 of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Obi-Wan has a ship which he used to go to Alderaan. Presumably, he also used it to return to Tatooine.
So why does Obi-Wan need to hire Han Solo and the Millennium Flacon to take him to Alderaan in ANH?

Headcanon: Obi-wan gave/sold the ship to Teeka so he’d stop stealing his parts to sell back to him. Got that lot for the house in exchange.

You could say the same thing about the ship he flew to Tatooine at the end of episode III.

I mean, we've seen what Jawas can do to a ship when they strip the Razor Crest of all its crucial parts in the Mandalorian!

But really I'd presume he simply returns it to the rebels who will be very much in need of every ship they can get hold of at this time. It's not his ship anyway, he's just borrowing it. The rebels want it back!

Besides that, anything could happen in the ten years before the events of ANH, and not knowing what happens to a thing in that gap isn't a plot hole!

He probably returned the ship, which was not his to begin with, back to the Rebels. All he had to do was contact one of them or get Owen to contact them to in order for them to retrieve the ship.

Re-watching the first couple of episodes I realised the green-skinned kidnapper is a Falleen, like Prince Xizor from Shadows of the Empire!

Is this the first time one has appeared in new canon?

In live action, definitelly. But, I want to say there might have been Falleens in TCW or something? Not sure.
