Kevin Smith about Ready Player One: "A series of pop cultural hand jobs and every more satisfying than the last." :D

Put it on a poster, Steven.

Fantastic. I'm floored by some of the bad reviews. People are smoking crack. It's a masterpiece.

Going to see it again tomorrow. Probably a few more times this week atleast.

Let me say that I am (along with my wife) a fan of the book. A big fan.
The movie had me worried - I was afraid that Spielberg won't get it as he's a bit too old for all the references. But the movie's fine. Just... fine. I'll wait for the Blu-Ray to watch it again.

One thing I can't forgive them is Rush. Their music was in the trailer, but not in the movie. That's harsh. Otherwise a nice flick, worth a watch.

I didn't like the movie but the book wasn't terrible, I thought it was corny and pretty transparent fan-wanking but I couldn't help kinda liking it. At least enough to read Armada and then wish I hadn't.

One was a lot of I grew up in the 80s and really wish I could go back, I enjoyed it. Armada was not any where close to it.
The movie was okay if you never read the book, I often compare it to John Dies at the End. Great book meh movie.

Yeah I read it, like I said I didn't hate it but I could tell that it had nothing to do with Ernie or his "writing" (he's more of a pop culture collage artist than writer or creator of anything original), as a child of the 80s I just like things like Robotron: 2084 and Oingo Boingo. At least the books reached back and actually found things that were capable of creating nostalgia, the movie wanted to be safe and make sure even a 5 year old could get all the references and it was just a collection of franchises that are still being regurgitated. Character's you hadn't seen on the big screen since last summer. It felt more like a bunch of product placement than nostalgia.
