Ah, man... I'm so looking forward to watching this show! :D Disney+ cannot come soon enough to my neck of the woods

It'll be really cool watch Resistance together with the ST from next year onwards; kinda like we (I assume) all watch RO & ANH together now. Having not seen the show yet, I Imagine the viewing order would be something like:
    Resistance s1
    TFA
    Resistance
    s2
    TLJ
    RoS

    ...right? :)

Mostly right. The end of Season 1 overlaps with TFA so I think you'd want to take a break from Season 1 a few episodes before the finale to introduce the plot points that you will see also happen from a different perspective in Resistance.

I have a feeling that Season 2 will begin by overlapping with TLJ but will likely extend a bit past it. If we think about the chronology of the first two films of this trilogy, they happen over a very short period of time and almost back to back from the closing scene of TFA to the opening moments of TLJ. I'd recommend watching those last few episodes of season 1, then TLJ and then season 2 (maybe with the first few of season 2 sprinkled in there between the films).

Agreed. My personal order would be to watch Resistance up to "The Core Problem", as Poe heading off to his mission on Jakku is a really nice lead-in to The Force Awakens. Then after that to resume Resistance with "The Disappeared", as it ends on a cliffhanger which kicks off the momentum that leads straight to the season finale.

Anyway, I am certainly looking foward to Season 2. As others have expressed, however, I was surprised and a bit disappointed to see that it's already the final season. Once I got over my initial surpise, I can see why this might be a good place to end the show, as it lines up with the release of The Rise of Skywalker, and there's already several other Star Wars projects coming down the pipeline. Still, I kinda wish they'd gone up to Season 3 at least; I feel there's enough room in the time gap between Ep 8 & Ep 9 to justify it.

If those Star Destroyers in the TROS D23 reel are the Sith Fleet hiding in the Unknown Regions, then the people on the Colossus are about to make a BIG discovery in season 2 of Resistance.

EDIT: Maybe that's why it's ending after only two seasons!

Kaz’s snow outfit reminds me of one of Cassian Andor’s look from Rogue One, mainly because of its use of yellow.

And I agree with @Apprentice of the Whills, that is definitely D’Qar. Maybe the Colossus will be spending the first half of the season trying to find the Resistance or maybe they’ll be thinking that the Resistance was destroyed on D’Qar? I believe that that was the story the First Order was trying to sell in the last arc of the Poe Dameron comic.

Nice work guys! It has to be that....

This is the explosion we see in TLJ as Lt. Connix and the rest of the Resistance makes their timely escape:

If we see this, there's a good chance that we get to see the rest of the battle from afar, don't you think? Unless it's just D'Qar still burning.... hard to tell but that might be Dreadnaught debris just to the right of the red dot.

New scene from the season 2 premier just dropped:

This confirms our thoughts about it begin D'Qar in the trailer. Also gives us a good guess at the timeline of this season. Based on them arrived from hyperspace 3 parsecs from D'Qar and sending out a message to the Resistance shortly after this scene ends, it is highly likely they will be just missing the battle and the beginning of the chase so that they begin this season with Leia's warning and may get her call for help at the end of the second episode (pt. 2 of this first arc) as a similar catalyst that Hux's speech was in the Season 1.

They also talk about not having enough fuel for another jump and being worried about surviving the first. My original suspicions of this season loosely resembling the Battlestar Galactica premise and structure may be coming true. Having episode 3 be called "A Quick Salvage Run" makes me think this will be raiding a FO coaxium fuel depot for another jump and then having a new FO villain (or the ones we left last season) pick up their trail on a new jump-to-jump chase across the galaxy with the villains getting closer to capturing/disabling the Colossus each jump.

Should be a fun season to lead up to Episode IX. I'm excited to see what tie ins they do with Rebels, Clone Wars, and potentially Galaxy's Edge.
    --- Double Post Merged, Sep 30, 2019, Original Post Date: Sep 30, 2019 ---

I like the idea that they think the Resistance was wiped out there. Since the first two episodes are a single arc, I bet they tie together with the first part being that feeling of being alone and desperate with them regaining hope and direction with Leia's Crait call for allies.

Now I am seeing that "Into the Unknown" is not a double episode, but just a single one. Can't seem to find the article where I got that it was a double episode. Maybe I read it wrong or they corrected it.

    1. Into the Unknown - October 6
    2. A Quick Salvage Run - October 13
    3. Live Fire - October 20
    4. Hunt on Celsor 3 - October 27
