A twin baby Skywalkers to carry on Vader legacy would be satisfying end and way to merge Rey into Skywalker “Vader” Saga. In Gffa you can use the woman’s surname to honor Luke.

Following Vader’s legacy is satisfying and should continue.

It's time for the Skywalkers to end. This doesn't mean that we have to kill them off, they should just have a minor or even no part at all in new movies.

It looks like we will be getting that in the future. We know Rian’s New trilogy is going to be something and somewhere different in the galaxy and I would think the series of movies from Benioff and Weiss is going to be different as well

I can be on board for Reylo babies, but I agree that this is the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga.

If I have to be 100% honest, I’d rather prefer to kill them all and end the Skywalker saga with some dignity.

If Rey and Ben die together, I can accept that, too, though I'll probably cry.

Rey is a strong and independent female hero, who was sold by her parents for drinking money. I don't think she is going to have children from anybody.

you got it all wrong! she's not going to have twins, she's going to give birth to Anakin!

you see, Kylo knocks her up in ep9 and she ends up going back in time (he's that potent a lover). upon realizing that she is now pregnant and decades in the past she takes the name Shmi and the cycle continues...

And as far as I know TPTB have never said anything about the Saga story stopping.
They have said the Saga is a "generational story" and if they want to continue a generational story they probably need Skywalker children.
KK says “the Saga films” here and not "the sequel trilogy" which may or may not be an important distinction.
Regardless it does seem unlikely to me that Disney would end such a lucrative property.

If they do choose to continue the Saga it's likely...
    • that there will be a long break between trilogies,
    • they will focus on a new generation,
    • and if Adam or Daisy chose to reprise their roles it will be in the background to the new generation's story.

i thought there was some mention of this being the final film in the Skywalker story? i think it might have been JJ?

i'm not sure exactly what language they used so you may be right, the distinction between Skywalker and Saga may be critical in breaking down their motives.

No one is disputing that she is a strong or independent female character? But ok

From the Episode IX press release

The role of Leia Organa will once again be played by Carrie Fisher, using previously unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. “We desperately loved Carrie Fisher,” says Abrams. “Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We were never going to recast, or use a CG character. With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we shot together in Episode VII.”

It sure sounds like this is the end of the Skywalker story. We know that Rian’s new trilogy is going to be completely different. It is assumed that Benioff and Weiss’ series of movies will be different as well. They just started callling the saga from I-IX the Skywalker saga since the acquisition from Disney. This leads me to believe there is going to be other “sagas” moving forward.

I'd rather not have baby-factor-rey be a thing, we barely know about her already.

Strong and independent and motherhood are not mutually exclusive. I mean just look into Queen Matilda who developed an awareness of her majesty after her husband died suddenly, She Wolf Margaret of Anjou at the time of the Wars of The Roses or the ruthless Chinese empress Wu Zetian (well if you have a garden of state, sooner or later you will need to deadhead those roses).

BBC She Wolves England's Early Queens:

No doubt you will find these educational.

You mean like have the Skywalker family be the equivalent of the Plantagenet kings? Oh I can dig that.

Medieval queens are a special case, true. But at the time I was talking about a current trend of female characters, who are "strong, independent, don't need any man and are neither sex object, nor a baby factory". Think of MCU Captain Marvel. Rey isn't quite there, but, as I predicted, didn't end up with any men or children.

    I see it more like a co-dependency.

Consider Slaine Mac Roth from 2000AD's Slaine. Slaine is completely devoted to the earth Goddess Danu. No question. Equally, Danu is equally dependent on Slaine to remove harmful elements whether they take the forms of the twisted Drunes, the cruel Fomorians, the Cyth who manipulate history and feed on pain and their Faye servants, the 'civilised' who seek to conquer nature, the alien Archons and myriad other threats.

In fact Slaine has a history of strong female characters:
    • Niamh- wife of Slaine and proud warrior woman
    • Scota- Egyptian princess who accompanies the Atlantean king Gael in his invasion of Ireland
    • Nest- Druidess
    • Medb- Witch and lover of the Lord Weird Slough Feg
    • Boudicca- Slaine meets her while travelling through time
    • Sinead- captured by agents of the Drunes, freed by Slaine to become his travelling companion and the host of the Goddess Herself
In the world of Slaine, femininity and nature are regarded as sacred.
