I’m a sucker for anything new with SW physical media releases. And it doesn’t help that I’m OCD when it comes to this stuff as I’ve wanted matching BluRay covers for the Disney and Pre-Disney movies.

They know they got me! Lol

Hold up...is Anakin's lightsaber red on the cover of Attack of the Clones?

The Original Trilogy on Disney+ is in 4K HDR (Dolby Vision). It's still the special edition, but it looks and sounds amazing.

    Welcome to The Cantina!

The spruced-up versions (from what I hear! :() on Disney+ would seem to lend credence to hopes of a 4K UHD disc release sometime soon, and round the time of TRoS getting a home video release would seem logical.

I would dearly love a 3D box set too. I mean I think 4K on disc is pretty certain now at some point, but I would so love to see the PT and OT in 3D. I actually loved The Phantom Menace conversion when it was in theatres and I find it appalling hardly any fans have been able to see the others (2-6) in 3D (I don’t remember if the OT was even fully converted?).

UK release is available to pre-order on Amazon.co.uk, but no images of the actual product yet, just a generic-looking temporary box. I am hoping the packaging will look like the US version, which I think seems lovely from what I’ve seen so far.

27 discs?! I realize that the majority of it is the 4k and blu-ray version. So then there should be a bts disc then for each movie?

The only way I'm getting this marvelous collection is if it comes with the original versions.

The Last Jedi and Solo are the only ones currently released on 4K. $250 is a lot of money, especially if it doesn’t contain the unaltered original trilogy.

For me to pay that much, the box set would have to contain something special, like the unaltered versions, but it doesn’t sound like that will happen. I might wait for them to be released individually or in separate trilogies. I’ll stream the Disney+ versions until then.

Also really want Rogue One in 4K UHD. I’m sure it’s coming. I hope they release The Mandalorian on disc eventually too. Fingers crossed!

    Sounds right.

Each film has two versions: 4K and regular BD. Nine films included, that means each film has two discs a piece meaning just the films consists of eighteen discs. If each film has a bonus feature disc, that totals twenty-seven.

Hopefully that individual bonus disc inclusion for every film means we'll see at least the unaltered trilogy in a similar presentation to those limited DVDs from a decade or so ago. It's not the ideal way they can be put on Blu-Ray but at least an acknowledgement is good enough for me.

So I finally got around buying all the SW movies on 4k. I already had TLJ and Solo on 4k so I didn't need the box set. I arranged the movies in time-line chronological order. Was hoping these movies would of gone on sell by now but after few months of watching, they didn't really go on sale.

I have my Star Wars movies stacked the same way. I only wish all the spines matched as my anal-retentive personality obsessed over it. Lol :D

Its borderline embarrassing but I got a milk crate full of "versions" in the attic.
The original VHS versions, remastered, THX, Special Editions + the DVDs, laserdisks, Blurays etc.

Love SW but am done. I'll buy the streaming rights and call it a day.

“You must do what you feel is right, of course.” (obi-wan 4):)

I have a lot of different versions/formats myself, I’m sure many of us do. I enjoy collecting them really but it is getting increasingly wallet-wincing with all the new films too, so I can understand your position too! I got the 4K box set and now I’m collecting the UK steelbooks... which is stressful and pricey(!). They might be the last physical format I can get, we’ll see. Having said that, I don’t really welcome a time where physically owning the movies is not an option...

The SW VHSs is the only reason I kept 2 VCRs. Also have the OT copied from the local rental joint back in the day.

I gave into temptation the Dark Side and bought the Best Buy boxed set today, and will be using it to finish my in-progress rewatch of the Saga films (I'm on Revenge of the Sith).
