I couldn’t agree more. Battlefront II is the one game that I regularly play on my Xbox, and while I frequent the online content, I’m a huge fan of the offline/single player stuff, too, especially because as the game ages and new stuff gets released, less people play, and for those of us who do still want to play, it’s harder to find people to play with. It’s come a LONG way since launch, though.

If they ever do a Battlefront III, I really hope they include everything from this game, as well as the content that was never transferred over from the first EA Battlefront game (especially the heroes/villains –– Greedo, Dengar, Nien Nunb, Jyn Erso, Krennic). I’d also love to see more heroes (who I would consider far more essential than BB-8 and BB-9E ever were) –– Padmé/Jango Fett, Ahsoka/Ventress, Poe/Hux, etc. –– and maps –– the Tantive IV, Mustafar, Coruscant, Utapau, etc. There’s also plenty more skins we never got either.

I love this game and will still be playing it for a long time. But there’s SO much stuff within the Star Wars universe that I’d love to see fleshed out in this game, so I hope we do get a Battlefront III at some point that takes everything we loved about the first two games and everything that we wanted but never got to create one massive, cohesive gaming experience.

    Exactly.

Star Wars means so much to everyone, but because we have to have every hero balanced perfectly as well as their cards (UGH) the developers don't have time to just let us have crazy battles.

For instance- I don't want to downplay the work that designers do, but there are definitely some shortcuts that could've gotten us quite a few more heroes. Take the PT, for example- reskins of Anakin and Obi Wan for Windu, Fisto, Plo Koon, etc... wouldn't have taken all that much more resources than the outfits. Vocal lines would need to be recorded (which honestly, I wouldn't mind whatever minimum they could muster).

Reskin Leia as Jyn. Solo as Cassian. Luke and Ezra. Add in Ventress, then resin her as Ahsoka.

Again, I'm not saying it's as simple as throwing a switch, but I'd happily take a dozen reskinned heroes with existing stats over a single totally new one. Heck, that's almost basically what they did with BB-8 and 9E anyway.

I agree entirely. I think a huge reason they weren’t able to achieve this is because there was so much behind-the-scenes crap with EA –– I mean, it’s a miracle we got as much content as we did considering the majority of the game’s development team was ultimately taken off the project to focus on other endeavors. I think most of us would’ve rather had re-skinned heroes over questionable new ones. (I’m sorry, but did anyone actually ask for BB-8 and BB-9E?)

If they do ever decide to pursue a Battlefront III, I think it would be in their best interest to get some input from hardcore fans on how to improve upon the previous two games. Again, I realize that, as a Star Wars fan, I –– and pretty much everyone else –– will always want more because there can never be enough content. But there were some glaring omissions from this game that I’d love to see appear in a future Battlefront installment if EA (or anyone else, quite frankly) is given the opportunity to make it happen.

Coming back to this, not even a year since the last post and I'd just like to say...

EA is really missing out on the options that they've been given to them on a silver platter currently. The game has had a massive boost since the free Epic Games promotion and they could easily reinstate live services OR announce a battlefront 3!

I’ve had a blast revisiting Battlefront 2 this past week and I also hope EA makes the right decision and give us a Battlefront 3. Just imagine them building and improving on all of the content from Battlefront 1 and 2, plus adding even more to it.

Imagine all of the seasons worth of content they can do:
    • The Clone Wars Season
      • Playable Characters: Ahsoka Tano vs Asajj Ventress; Padme Amidala vs Jango Fett; Mace Windu vs Savage Opress; Bo Katan vs Gar Saxon; Captain Rex vs Cad Bane.
      • Maps: Mandalore, Coruscant, Utapau, Mustafar.
      • Reinforcements: Elite Squad Trooper (from The Bad Batch) vs MagnaGuard.
    • Rise of the Empire Season
      • Playable Characters: Jyn Erso vs Director Krennic; Cassian Andor vs the antagonist from his show; Cal Kestis vs The Second Sister; Ezra Bridger vs Grand Admiral Thrawn; Kanan Jarrus vs The Grand Inquisitor; Sabine Wren vs somebody; Enfys Nest vs Dryden Vos.
      • Maps: Eadu, Mimban, Lothal, Bracca, Vardos, Malachor (Heroes Vs. Villains), Vader’s Castle (Heroes Vs. Villains).
      • Reinforcements: Rebel Pilot vs KX-Series Droid; Rebel Honor Guard vs Royal Guard; Mimbanese vs Range Trooper; Partisan vs Purge Trooper.
    • The New Republic Season (i.e. a season primarily based on The Mandalorian and its spin-offs)
      • Playable Characters: Din Djarin vs Moff Gideon. Cara Dune, Greef Carga, Fennec Shand, IG-11, and Grogu could all be playable characters too but I don’t know who they could go against.
      • Maps: Nevarro.
      • Reinforcements: Tusken Raiders vs Incinerator Stormtrooper; Bounty Hunter vs Mortar Stormtrooper; Mandalorian Warrior vs Dark Trooper.
    • Age of the Resistance
      • Playable Characters: Poe Dameron vs General Hux.
      • Maps: Ahch-To (Heroes vs Villains), Pasaana, Kijimi, Exegol.
Not to mention all of the money they could make by just selling character skins alone.

EA is the McDonalds of the gaming industry. Their primary concern is how to exploit the fans, everything you stated above is not even on their radar.

Then they will seriously be missing out on a lot of potential profit they could make from a Battlefront 3.

Yes, I do know Battlefront 3 is pretty much a cursed title but what Hero With No Fear said would actually work. They could even... potentially add a season pass to Battlefront 2, and some might say it isn't possible cause the game is too old, but look at Sea of Thieves which recently had a season pass added. That game is about the same age as Battlefront 2.

If they wanted to restore live service, a season pass system might be the first way to go about this sort of thing. Give you the season pass rewards via the lootbox system that they had for the daily crates. And of course, if someone wanted too, allow them to buy levels on the season pass. Make everything on the season pass cosmetic and not pay2win and they should have a good system there.

That would also give them some more money to go towards their Battlefront 3 development while keeping the fans of Battlefront 2 satisfied until BF3 is ready for release.
