The marathon I went to before TFA is one of my fondest memories.

It started the night before. People showed up to the theater in pajamas with pillows and blankets. There was a little snoring during the prequels (not a critique of the movies) because they were in the middle of the night.

In the morning there was a break before the OT started. We were given lanyards so we could easily come and go. The theater gave out free coffee and donuts at a table in the lobby. The theater still wasn’t open to anyone else yet.

People started changing into their regular clothes. There was lots of great Star Wars conversation to be had. Everyone had theories about TFA.

As the day progressed people started putting on their cosplay. There was another break after the OT before TFA. I went out into the mall to grab some food. A table was set up selling shirts and other commemorative souvenirs.

By the time we got to TFA, a real camaraderie had formed. It was a lot of fun. I wasn’t able to attend the marathon before TLJ, but hopefully I can make it to this one.

I know it's not a critique of the movies but I haven't been able to stop laughing at this.

Wow, you kind of inspired me, @Rodney-2187. I don't know if I could stand sitting in a theater seat for that long, but wow, how much fun would a full marathon be?! I doubt there will be one at my local AMCs, but I will definitely look into it.

I had a similar experience with a LOTR marathon a few years back. 13 hours in the cinema with fans. It was awesome. The crazy thing- I wasn't tired one bit! The movies started at 1 P.M. and ended at 3 A.M.

But for TROS I wouldn't want to do something like that because I want to be fit and well... cleaned! Haha!

I actually envy people who can sleep in a theater...

Never done one of the marathons. Are you free to come and go? Could you come for just the final 3/6 films?

Yes, you can come and go whenever you want. You paid for the ticket, so you can decide all by yourself what to do with it. But personally I would call this "wasted money"- to just come for half the fun.

I know, but I also need sleep and showered. Also some of my party wouldnt want to be there for all of them (my wife in particular) so would arrive at different times.

There’s short breaks between each movie and longer breaks between trilogies. Time actually flew by.

Look like Cinemark is doing a marathon as well, but there isn't any info on it yet.

My fighter is the Whisper? How weak. I would have prefered the Annihilator. (kylo ren)(crossguard)

If I remember correctly, TLJ marathon tickets were around $60. I wonder how much these will be?

The 22-movie Marvel marathon (59 hours) was $125 but I didn’t do it. Really wish I had.

I feel asleep in The Pirates of the Carribean: At World’s End due to boredom and the length of the movie. Only time it happened. :D

Sounds like a great fun event @Rodney-2187. There’s definitely something about joining in a fan event which is pretty much just populated by like minded folks who all want to really get into it... I admire your commitment too, like @NinjaRen i did an LOTR marathon and that nearly broke me, I can’t even imagine a 9-movie SW run

I remember Celebration L.A. did the movie marathon of 1-6!!
I flew all the way from Australia for that with about 6hrs sleep.lol.
    Totally worth it.
The only other Star wars marathon(other than at home)was the May the 3rd and 4th marathon in Australia where the PT was shown on the 3rd and then the OT on the 4th.
    Good times!!
I know Australia won't do a Star wars marathon like you guys get in America so I am a little envious.
These event are both amazing for meeting and making new friends plus the sentimental value that goes along with it.
C3 and Celebration Anaheim will forever stand out for me due to the friends I made online and met inline at the Cons just to wait in snow and sleet to see GL or to watch the amazing sizzle reel of ROTS to catching a flight from Sydney to Anaheim just to go drop bags off at a hotel and shower to standing inline 18hrs for the TFA panel and subsequent trailer..and "Chewie we're home" moment!!

That bottom picture is the one I remember seeing. Reading the write up in The Ultimate Star Wars guide it says that Kylo modifies a TIE Whisper for his ship. So it appears that a TIE Whisper is a type of FO TIE and that Kylo just has a tricked out version of one.
