    Totally agree - that is how you do a movie poster.
    Even though the placement of D-0 kind of annoys me (looks like Lando is wearing a huge earring) and Threepio's head is just kind of floating there as if it has been detached, this is still the best poster I've seen so far.
    Proper old school.
    Used to love Flemming's covers for the old Dark Horse Star Wars stuff...

    So, how about Palpatine did not literally survive the second Death Star, but the Dark Side endures and *someone* is trying to resurrect this force as a new entity.
    The "Palpatine" body in TROS is just a shell, but all these different personas and voices are able to inhabit it. It's just the Dark Side, and Palpatine's spirit is "taking the lead" as it were.

    That works for me, if it's more abstract and it's not really the case that the guy who got electrocuted and fell down a shaft on an exploding space station survived.
    But his essence remains, and where it would usually be lost in the netherworld of the Force, as Lucas used to put it, (him not being a Jedi and all) it can now be retrieved from the Unknown Regions due to *reasons* relating to the events of these movies.

    I just saw the latest and truly amazing tv spot and
    I do to believe that Palpatine is not alive. Terrio’s words were vague enough to entertain the idea
    that he’s there, but not in the traditional way. I thought it was about him trying to get a new physical form...
    To be reborn so to speak. But now... I am start thinking is not even that.
    It’s something more, more powerful.
    The Dark side itself.
    Something that somehow he (Sidius) “activated” but it’s a far more powerful thing.
    And the voices.... the voices are all “odd”.

    there’s I believe Matt Smith’s voice, but I don’t think he’s a young Sidius, whoever
    the character is, he’s posing as Palpatine. He’s not him.
    Then there’s Snoke. Then there’s Sidius/Ian then... before Vader, the voice telling “the voices you have ever heard” in my opinion is a Dark Yoda.

    A dark manifestation of him. It’s a power that manifests itself “posing” as Dark Yoda and as all those characters.


    And not related to the tv spot, but I believe that the hounded person that Rey sees sitting in on throne is not Palpatine. It’s Dark Rey,

    It's worth noting, we haven't actually seen anyone sitting in the throne yet, apart from the leaked image that Disney took down.
    FWIW, I'm convinced that was not a proper movie still. Something about it looked off. May have been Disney content, a pre-viz mock up or something, but it didn't look like an actual still to me.
    We've only really seen *a cloaked figure* on the mechanical arm thing and heard Palpatine's voice...

    I am talking about the scene we see in many trailers / tv spot of Rey standing in front of the throne.
    Sitting on it, we only see someone with a hood [/spoilers].

    Ah, no, I agree with all the stuff you said in the initial post.
    But I'm not sure any of the shots we have seen have anyone sat in the throne. Do you mean the frequently used shot of Rey backing away with the lightning rising up from the chasm? Isn't the hooded figure actually moving, attached to the mechanical arm/upright bed thing in that shot?

    and about what I was talking about above...

    I think we may get something that basically merge the Mortis Acr with the Son taking the appearance of several people and the Yoda Arc. Not that I think that the Son will be directly referenced. It may just be “the dark side”.
    And Kylo is literally facing all his fears and... ambitions in that scene imo. Those kind of fears and
    ambitions that feed/are the Dark Side...

    Also... speaking of this and Drak Yoda, here you have it... it won’t be the fist time

    Sorry, just updated my last post to include a screenshot - you can see all the gizmos attached to it when the lightning fills the frame. It looks nothing like the surface of the throne. And if you look closely, Palpatine is actually moving towards Rey in that shot... but in a strange way, as if he's gliding, attached to something...

    That spot was amazing. The emperor’s theme, duel of fates and imperial march all on one was genius marketing move. I still have some iffy feelings about the film but Kylo and Palpatine mixing it up, not in physical combat but sort of battle of wills both together and against each other might just make the whole movie worth it.
