this was a somewhat uncharacteristically uneven episode for me. i loved seeing the First Order and i loved having Poe and Kaz out on a mission together. i also loved Poe defying orders (naughty Poe), and having Phasma pursuing them.

what felt off or strange to me was the pacing, generally, and the firefight at the end really felt like it lacked zip.

all that said, it was still a fun episode and i can watch FO stormtroopers running around in hallways all day.
also, in case anyone was still wondering, General Organa is played by Carolyn Hennesy in this episode, so it does look like LFL quietly gave the original voice actress the boot. Hennesy is excellent in the role, too, so yay!

I agree about the firefight, but with so much Poe, loads of Phasma and a lovely couple of scenes with Leia.. I had to give it a 5 ! :D

I'm so glad you said you thought the firefight lacked zip. I thought it was just me and my senses were dead. :p Actually, I really enjoyed the stormtroopers running around the halls hitting literally nothing they aimed at. Classic!

Honestly, the best part was that Kaz does something right. In fact, Kaz does several things right: he finds out what the FO is mining, and he rescues Poe from falling after knocking Phasma and her minions off the runway. He reminds Kaz of his orders from Leia, he was right about tripping the alarm, and he found a way to save himself from the giant fireball without relying on Poe "Oh, you'll be fine" Dameron. The second best part was Oscar Isaac's voice acting. He is fantastic.

Also, I'm calling it right now. Opeepit, the pumpkinhead maintenance guy, is the FO spy. Did anyone notice how the FO station on the asteroid looked just like him? I'm telling you all, it was a major clue.

Watched this episode on Sunday and well...it was okay. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the episode a lot. Oscar Isaac is ALWAYS amazing as Poe, and hearing Gwendoline Christie's Phasma was really nice. But this episode didn't wow me as much as other ones, weirdly enough. I should have felt ecstatic that we're getting more First Order stuff, but instead I felt regularly happy. This episode felt like it matched the sum of its parts, not exceeding it.

Overall, I enjoyed this episode and will probably be in the minority of opinions, but something was missing from this episode for me (maybe the cross-the-line-twice-kids humor?) that doesn't bring the episode up to the mark I know it deserves.

I gave it a 3 (although it really deserves about 3.75. Most episodes are a solid 4 for me).
