The Black Series

Looking for RotJ Lando, Royal Guard, and Ahsoka. I love my Kanan, k-2so, and shoretroopr(TRu excl.) black series.

 

Bought time for Revan to come out.

 

I've read that there will be plenty of them released, so wait for it. Don't pay scalper prices.

 

Hope so. I really want to get him and Sabine without having to give up half of my allocated monthly allowance for action figures.

My Sabine Wren just came in today. Did not even have to pay the scalpers price.

In order to find a Revan at a fair price I had to buy the whole series of figures that he came in. Thankfully I actually wanted all those figures, so now I also have ANH Leia, ANH Obi-Wan, Snow Trooper, AT-AT Pilot and Sabine to go along with my Revan.

Seriously though, scalpers are the worst. It seems like whole series of figures don't even reach the store shelves sometimes. I think part of the problem with this series of figures was that they were released too close to the release of Rogue One, and store shelves in many stores are still overstocked with Rogue One merchandise.

 

Revan is coming in Solid Case packs eventually. I too bought the entire wave since it just made sense, however, i ended up buying a few more Revan's off Amazon as they would come in stock and provided a few of them to fellow collectors at cost (i don't upcharge fellow collectors). The TRU's around me have been getting in the Revan wave lately, unfortunately since that wave is all single packed characters, Revan is gone before he gets out of the box. But, if you don't mind buying online, the solid case packs are coming and the secondary market price will plummet with that. That is the unfortunate part about B&M is that they don't order solid case packs so you'll need to go online for them.

Also, you can go to your local Gamestop and Pre-order Qui-Gon, ERG, and Lando. Very sad Hera got delayed on that wave, waiting for her.

Yes there my favorites unfournatley none of the recent of Solo Line has been released in my local stores

 

Dusting this thread off a little bit...

It seems that the first wave of Black Series Archive releases are now up for pre-order. It's a really good opportunity for collectors who got in on the Black Series later in it's run to plug some holes in their collections. And I'm personally looking forward to some of the improved paint applications on the faces of the human characters with this new facial printing technique that Hasbro is using on 6" Black Series figures. The original Anakin Skywalker release doesn't look anywhere near as good as the one that Hasbro showed at NY Comic Con.

 

Pre-orders are up at a number of the bigger online retailers for the 6" Black Series deluxe General Grievous. And it looks like the General will be available as soon as March. I'm definitely looking forward to adding this figure to the slowly growing ranks of PT Black Series figures.

At first I was disappointed to hear that this had gone from being a general retail release to an exclusive. But this new "fan channel" exclusive scheme seems like it might be a little bit better for collectors than initially thought. EE, BBTS and Dorkside Toys have all proven themselves to be solid sources for collectors. And it seems like Grievous may also turn up at brick & mortar retail at GameStop and ThinkGeek stores.

 

Any word on the release dates for the Ezra and Chopper? I can not find any info.

 

Not yet. I would expect Wave 20 (Holdo, Dryden Vos, Mudtrooper Han, Padme, Mace Windu & Battle Droid) to ship around March. That fits in with the pattern of how Hasbro handles releases after Toy Fair which is coming up in a little over a week. And Hasbro likes to get new product out pretty quickly following Toy Fair.

Ezra and Chopper are most likely in wave 21, and the complete lineup for that wave is still TBD. I would expect the lineup for that wave to become more clear at Toy Fair. My educated guess is that wave will probably ship around June.
