I mean just talking about it. Based on recent employee events, which shall not be discussed here. Let’s just say I am not a fan of Disney employment practices and leave it at that.

What??!? This feels to me like someone who is trying really hard to find fault without any real justification for it.

The TV audience is aware that Baby Grogu called out to a Jedi through the Temple. But we, as the audience, know diddily-squat about: 1) how the message was received; 2) who received the message; 3) whether Luke received the message directly or if it was somehow relayed to him?; 4) how far away Luke was at the time and how long it took the message to get to him; and 5) how long it took him to locate the child since Grogu was unceremoniously yanked away from the Temple.

Because of all the mystery surrounding Grogu 'calling out' using the Force, quite frankly it doesn't require the audience to 'invent or assume backstories or obstacles or anything of that sort. Given the storyline that was presented, it's logical for the audience to expect that a Jedi wasn't going to show up immediately -- yet was likely to show up in Season 2's final episode.

One of the rumors I've heard about the future is that we'll see Hera Syndulla (one of the characters from SW Rebels) where we might have seen Cara Dune in the past. I personally like the idea of a new -- and very different - character versus recasting Cara Dune or introducing a new character with similar traits.
Given how well they did with creating a live-action Ahsoka, a live action Hera shouldn't be a problem.

Hi everyone, I'm creating a fan video for the TV series "Mandalorian". I also wrote a short article about the process of creating it. Yes, it's hard to say anything about the video after a couple of shots, but still, what do you think?

I hope this really pans out. Hera would be an excellent replacement. I wonder if they would include flashbacks of her relationship with Kanan, or the Rebels crew.

Here's a link to our rules and regs for those who need a refresh :)
    https://thecantina.starwarsnewsnet.com/index.php?threads/rules-regulations-v1-5.1/

Congratulations on your creativity, mate :D While slef-promo links are not allowed on most forums, you CAN a serious link in your own Information section thingy, and also if you find a thread specifically about SW fan videos, you can post it there as well.

I'll cut your link from the above post, though.

Update: You can post your link in this sub-forum, @alexeygraves :

I’m looking forward to The Book of Boba Fett and the other shows coming out next year, but I’m ready for Mando to come back.

Honestly at first I thought the show was overrated, seeing how I'm not real big into mandalorians or boba fett really.
Firstly im glad they made boba fett live up to the mythology that surrounds him, in live action.
It didn't start really getting good, for me anyway until season 2 episode 4 i think where they were on the water planet and met up with Bo Katan, that's when the story kicked into overdrive.
Now im really looking forward to season 3.

I've been a fan of The Mandolorian from the beginning but you definitely hit the episode when the series went from a fun show into something really special. All the episodes from The Heiress forward were absolutely amazing.

Let me preface with stating that I've really enjoyed TBoBF and Mandalorian so far. In a few ways I've enjoyed TBoBF more than Mando and vice versa.

I find it funny though, and funny in a kind sad, funny peculiar way, the way the tropes of criticism that , particularly for TBoBF come and go on such whims. Not to say that there is a definable consensus around the show. But the latest episode of TBoBF highlights the likelihood that many of the things that become the received wisdom of the show are, if not inauthentic, things that are said at the time to lend pseudo objectivity to people's gut reactions, predilections and sometimes just the basic desire to appear expansive on the pros and cons of new Star Wars material.

One of the most popular critiques the past few weeks has been the perceived lack of urgency and time being wasted on things we didn't need to be shown etc. This week we had a chapter which did no even feature Boba Fett and literally every second of it is stuff we literally don't need to be shown. So far I haven't heard a peep about the time wasted. Instead, The Return... is being hailed as the best episode so far.

Let's be honest. Mando's inscrutable persona (at least to begin with) already gave a lot of people the Boba they had created in their minds. Faverau and Filoni exploited that and then flipped it by making this fearsome bounty hunter a doting father to a baby Yoda. And that means a lot of fighting and travelling. And that is just inherently more compelling to most than the way they have fleshed out the actual Boba Fett into an actual character rather than just a suit of armour. Boba, while essentially the same as Din when suited up and in battle, is aiming to be the Don Vito of Tatooine. He just wants respectability so that he can improve not only his lot but perhaps change things for bounty hunters in general. Guess which one of those stories appeals to the most people? You don't have to guess. There's been a chorus of "this is a waste of time" until chapter 5 which advanced neither the story of Boba Fett's rise to power, or the Mandalorian's story (so he's estranged from his covert, which we already sort of knew, and he's still hung up on Grogu, surprise). A big slice of this episode was concerned with Din arguing with a boarding clerk about carrying weapons on to a star cruiser and then eventually relenting. Can you imagine if a previous episode of TBoBF had done something similar with Boba?

Why should this be depressing, or even bother me in the slightest if I'm enjoying the show? Well it's because more often than not, the things that SW fans say, repeat, post etc get picked up by the more mainstream media. Pretty soon people that haven't even watched the show, and won't watch the show. know what's "wrong" with it. While the fans who posted those critiques have watched the episode several times. So you end up mentioning a certain show you can get people who have no idea what they are talking about saying "Oh that show that's a failure" because some journo did a sweep of message boards and social media and found that a lot of fans posted and/or repeated the same pseudo objective critiques because the show didn't rub their tummies sufficiently or in the way they wanted this week, and posts an article claiming that to be the consensus for the show. And this tends to have a snowball effect.

A lot of the critiques that are troped around the SW fan communities are ways of compensating for essentially a shallow popularity contest. I'm not criticising anybody for having that kind of response. But the credibility of a lot of the things written about why x works but y is not good Star Wars is seriously affected when there are such clear double standards and inconisstency.
    --- Double Post Merged, Jan 27, 2022, Original Post Date: Jan 27, 2022 ---
Sorry to come back to this. But Luke not sensing through the force that everything is going to hell and not responding to it was one of the things used to condemn the Last Jedi. And even though ultimately he responded to Rey's and Leia's request within the 18 hour timeframe of the movie, it was still condemned as ruining the character but not having him jump into action as soon as he was contacted. If we're being consistent we need to compare it with the days of not weeks between Grogu calling out and Luke showing up. It's not looking for anything to complain about. If people can declare that a movie ruins a character by the tardiness of his response to a request for help then they can't complain when it's pointed out that they're applauding a show that depicts the character taking even longer to respond. Maybe they could just admit, hey I didn't like it. I was wanting something else and this is all just me trying to articulate it but really it just didn't ring my bell. It wasn't what I wanted. Chapter 16 Mandalorian is what I wanted though."

Firstly, I am a sequel trilogy hater. I’ve upset a lot of people here on this site because of this. I’m not trying to rehash my negative feelings towards the ST. But I’m a Star Wars fan. I’ve read over 400 Star Wars books 3x now. I still hate the ST, but I love the mandalorian, the book of boba fett, solo and rouge 1.

I have tried to like the ST. Believe me, I have tried. I can never accept the ST. I’ve been called many negative things because of this and unfortunately I’ve replied many negative statements. It’s been a long time since I typed anything on this site. It’s the only Star Wars site I am a member of.

I wanted to share this information because I want Star Wars fans to understand that just because I hate the ST I’m not a bigot, racist, sexist or troll.

i love these spin-off shows. I can’t wait for the obiwan series. I know…Nobody wants to discuss the reasoning as to why some Star Wars fans boycotted solo or disliked the ST. I’m infatuated with the mandalorian and fett series because each entire series is a continuous story that has a direction. Kinda like the last 3 years of Star Trek deep space 9.

I feel it’s important to point out my dislike of the ST while still expressing my love of the other projects. This is important to me. Once I finish reading the entire DUne series, I’m going to start reading all 400+ extended universe books for the forth time.

As for season 1, episode 5 of the book of boba fett, it exceeded all my expectations. Jon favreau has done a phenomenal work with these spin-offs. I can’t wait to see what happens next..

    cheers
