I need to answer this after I give it more of a chance. Hopefully that will come this weekend!

    ALSO.
Seems that Flacco is headed West.

Definitely will bring some more credibility to Denver's chances of doing any damage this year. The Broncos are getting more and more interesting this offseason....

    Guess that settles it. :D

I fully expect @Alamact will now try to get @Dork Lord of the Bith to join the Denver side of the Force. At least they share a color scheme with the Apollos.

THE BRONCOS FINALLY GOT AN ELITE QUARTERBACK!

    It is January 2020.
Flacco and the Broncos sneak in the playoffs at 10-6 and are the wild card against the 10-6 North champs Baltimore Ravens. 4th quarter, game on the line, Denver down by 7. Boom. Hail Mary to Emmanuel Sanders to tie, force OT and squeak out the win, en route to Denver's 4th title! Time is a flat circle.
Thank you for putting this together Al! The Commanders sound like an interesting team. Not too good not too bad. I don't think I want to root for Memphis.

How's my boi, Colts legends Trent Richardson doing by the way?

Haha wow. I might just join the league on memes alone!

Birmingham Iron sound very interesting now to me. I'm in the market for a defensive team and it sounds like those 2 are it. Only reason I'm not as keen on the Iron is their affiliates. I don't like a single one of those franchises except maybe the Bills.

    You know it.

Joe Flacco remains the last and only player to defeat Tom Brady and the Patriots while on the road in the Championship game. Since I understand @Dork Lord of the Bith has been groomed on the spite and bitterness New England has caused the rest of the league, it's fitting to show him the team that's not only historically good against the Patriots, but are now helmed by a quarterback who is notoriously a magical thorn in Brady's side.

I hope the Denver Broncos treat him with better weapons than we did. At the very least, they will get a great mentor in him to train the quarterback of the future.
The Championship game between the Birmingham Iron and the Orlando Apollos would be awesome to see. I don't know which team they would face from the West (which is shaping up to be the more competitive conference of the two), but I doubt the Legends and the Express will mount a comeback in their inaugural season. The talent just isn't there yet.

As I understand it, the Patriots seem to be something like the NFL equivalent of what Real Madrid has been to the UCL, so I'm not terribly predisposed to feel for them. With that being said, if they did happen to be the team whose play I like the most, I wouldn't count them out as a possibility. :D

Newbie question, is the guy Denver acquired actually really good, or is it more of an in-joke?

That's the thing. It's been 10 years and we still don't know!

He won a Super Bowl with the best post season performance ever seen in NFL history by a QB in a legendary stretch of 4 games where no one (including myself at the time) thought the Ravens stood a chance. They beat us (the Indianapolis Colts) at home in Andrew Luck's rookie season. He fumbled the game away which was an issue for us all year.

Flacco then went on to beat Peyton Manning ON THE ROAD in Mile High Stadium (which is notorious for having a big home field advantage). Peyton was our former QB that we traded to Denver and is objectively considered one of the best to ever play the game. After that Flacco went to beat Tom Brady on his own turf in New England only to cap it off by winning the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers and their hot new team led by Colin Kaepernick. What's crazy is that through this stretch of 4 games Flacco didn't throw a single interception.

He went and signed a big contract with the Ravens but never lived up to the promise of that post season. @Alamact is right that Baltimore never treated him with good offensive players and instead focusing on defense but since his contract was so big, you can also make the argument that they couldn't. So the jury is still out.

Don't look now folks, but this greatly increases the chances Baltimore snags away Le'veon Bell from the evil clutches of Pittsburgh. Imagine a rushing option offense run by Lamar and Bell.
To build on @Capt. Andrew Luck's wonderful recap, I would like to present the counter-argument from a Denver Broncos fan perspective (specifically, why this is considered both a good and a bad move).

Salt Lake's running game and offensive line just keeps impressing me, but the biggest surprise of the league thus far is how much I'm enjoying Marvin Lewis as a color commentator with that Eeyore voice of his.

Dude! Did you see that crazy Iron TD? Forced fumble on the Salt Lake punt returner and recovered the ball in the endzone! I want a clip of that ASAP. :D

I am 100% aboard the Commanders train.
Is Logan Woodside the best player in the AAF? Recency bias says yes!
    --- Double Post Merged, Feb 17, 2019, Original Post Date: Feb 17, 2019 ---
And Williams is the Lamar Jackson of the AAF apparently!
I am loving this San Antonio 2 QB punch!
