Definitely. Without a doubt. While I enjoyed Rogue One, without him it's just enjoyable. With him, Rogue One is freakin amazing. That ending.... BEST EVER.

To anyone who hasn't read or doesn't intend to read both of the outstanding Vader comicbook series'(2015 & 2017)….I FIND YOUR LACK OF FAITH DISTURBING!

Also, I absolutely loved the "Lords of The Sith" novel by Paul S. Kemp, would love to read through a comicbook adaptation of that story, it's action packed and full of Sith-y awesomeness, plus the story is quite good, a little rough around the edges, but good:)

I find your lack of serious villains disturbing.

    (vader) (pwned)

This sums up the biggest issue I have with the ST.

I get a hard time from my inlaws because I like the villains in movies, especially Star Wars. Even though he's evile, Darth Vader is just the coolest looking and sounding character around. Even without his cool mannerisms he should win an award for best designed villain purely on looks and sound.

Star Wars basically is poetry. You know, it rhymes.

Just spent a rather enjoyable couple of hours ploughing through this thread and thought I'd share a pencil drawing I started not long after Revenge of the Sith came out.
I loved the imagery of the half cloaked face of Anakin/Vader on Mustafar and really wanted to do something with it.
As you can see I got so far incorporating the different stages of his life but then real life happened and it got put to one side and I never got round to finishing it.
One of these day the spark of inspiration will strike and I'll finally finish it. :(

If that's for my pic, thanks for that.
My drawing escapades may have been put on the back burner for a while but my fascinations with our favourite Dark Lord are never far away.
Got back into LEGO a few years ago and as consequence entered a forum based competition to design a Mosaic. Of course, being such a Vader Groupie he became the focus of my build.
    This was the result...

It's just a digital render at the moment because there are approx 1400 bricks, plates and tiles in the build but I'm getting there.

One thing I don't like: why did they have to change his voice? I love the diverse range of regional dialects of my country and would have loved to see Darth Vader with a Bristol accent. They even disparagingly referred to David Prowse as 'Darth Farmer'. A slight not just on him but on our cultural and linguistic heritage.

And while I am here, I really would love to see a Star Wars actor with a Black Country, Geordie or Scouse accent.

My guess would be that George wanted Vader to sound ominous.

Vader's rage towards the end of Rogue One had me fall in love with him and he overtook Boba Fett as my favorite Star Wars character. :D

    You're welcome.
Note how all of this is subtly set up in opposition: white environment for Pad, black for Ani. Both are medically assisted only by droids. Both are overwatched by the most eminent figure of the two orders: Yoda and Kenobi for the white/light, Sidious for the black/darkness. Yoda and Kenobi are crying for a death and their defeat, Sidious is exulting for a rebirth and his own victory.

This is a masterful yin&yang sequence.
