I was...informed of a way to watch Season 2 of Beast Morphers, and I've been mostly skimming the major episodes in order to see all of the fun crossovers and references. I'd say this season solidifies my earlier feelings on the show. Beast Morphers is a great first step in the Hasbro Era and a truer legacy season than Megaforce ever was. The characters are fresh, there are genuine romantic relationships, and the theme of "legacy" hits stronger than ever - there are Ranger history courses, the Morphin' Grid is seen as a clean energy source to power the future, and characters, costumes, and weapons from previous series all return. The three-part crossover and the second to the last episode are highlights of the season, with the latter possibly becoming my favorite in the entire Beast Morphers run due to what it does to and for the series.
This is a season older fans would regret missing out on and younger ones would probably enjoy. If someone was making a list of "necessary seasons" for Power Rangers, this would be the latest entry.

All of that said, I wouldn't recommend it as a first Power Rangers season. I'd say go with something like RPM or Dino Charge first. If one wanted to watch with kids now, I'd say RPM, Dino Charge, maybe a few episodes of MMPR and/or Dino Thunder to show them the history of Power Rangers, and THEN Beast Morphers. Alternatively, RPM, Season One of Beast Morphers, Dino Charge and the other things, and then Season Two when Beast Morphers hits Netflix.

Overall, I'm not sure I can categorize this season as great but the qualities in it are indeed great.

...heck I want to make that list right now!

    1. Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (skip the Alien Rangers stuff)
    2. Power Rangers Zeo
    3. Power Rangers Turbo (at least the passing of the mantle and season finale)
    4. Power Rangers In Space
    5. Power Rangers Lost Galaxy
    6. Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue
    7. Power Rangers Time Force
    8. Power Rangers Ninja Storm
    9. Power Rangers Dino Thunder
    0. Power Rangers SPD (this one isn't as necessary, but it has two great team-ups and one of the best Red Rangers and Blue Rangers in the series history)
    1. Power Rangers Jungle Fury (I'm not as sold on this one, but it's underrated apparently, so it can stay)
    2. Power Rangers RPM
    3. Power Rangers Megaforce (so you can see how a legacy show shouldn't be done)
    4. Power Rangers Dino Charge/Dino Super Charge
    5. Power Rangers Beast Morphers

The ones cut out: Wild Force, Mystic Force, Operation Overdrive, Samurai/Super Samurai, Super Megaforce, Ninja Steel/Ninja Super Steel.

Wild Force doesn't make the cut not because it's bad. On the contrary, it has many likeable things about it, and if someone wanted to add it back in I wouldn't disagree. But it needed to go because it's not really referenced again and it doesn't bring much to the table. If you've seen Power Rangers and Tarzan, you've seen Wild Force. ...but I will say that Wild Force does have some of my favorite Ranger suits in the entire franchise. The White Tiger Ranger costume is PHENOMENAL.

Mystic Force is cut because the focus on the Red Ranger hampers the entire show. Rangers are a team; besides, it gets old after a while (the show and the focus on the Red Ranger). The magic aspect is interesting, but we need more than a good hook to stay invested.

Operation Overdrive is cut because it's somewhere between bad and forgettable. I know the Pink Ranger is one of the best in the franchise, and if one wants to meet her, go ahead. But Time Force and Dino Charge have better Pink Rangers, and the show isn't that good. The team-up sort of stinks too, which is really disappointing.

Samurai/Super Samurai are in the same boat. They're not bad, they're just not good enough to make the cut.

Super Megaforce. This might be the most disappointing season of Power Rangers to exist. The rangers had such cool costumes, and the premise of PIRATE RANGERS is such an awesome thing to work with. But the show bound itself in legacy and adorned itself in forgettable characters. It's become a disappointment, not a celebration.

Ninja Steel/Ninja Super Steel. From what I've seen of these two, there just isn't enough substance there to recommend it. The team is okay, but apparently they always forget the Aesop learned. The premise is okay, but it's a weird mashup of things that don't really match. Maybe if they made it so that ninjas were not created as assassins, but protectors of alien and supernatural threats...but it's fine. This show is skippable, so save your time and skip it.

I finished Chinese show Reunion: The Sound of Providence which is basically the first half-season, because Chinese censorship declared that all dramas have to be shorter than or exactly 40 episodes. They filmed 70 and divided drama into 2 seasons to pass. Basically Chinese Indiana Jones + Tomb Raider with great cast and chemistry and for once great FX, but uneven pace. Still, enjoyed it a lot.

Started Disney Gallery The Mandalorian. I like it so far.

I watched the first episode of Star Trek: Lower Decks on YouTube for free. Overall it wasn't as bad as I feared it would be! I found the characters to be pretty amusing and the overall plot to be intriguing. Said plot isn't anything new - apparently Star Trek: The Next Generation also had an episode titled "Lower Decks," but it was more dramatic in nature; and the book Red Shirts does the same thing from what I've seen about it (I tried reading it once, and it wasn't for me). Lower Decks is a very modern show in a way that clashes (or maybe highlights) the operatic and philosophical styles of Star Treks series past. It's not bad, just very noticeable. The main things I worried about were the tone and humor, since apparently one of the writers or creators worked on Rick & Morty, a show I actually have absolutely no interest in. But the only things in common right now are the sci-fi setting, the lightning-speed pace, and the character aesthetic. Which, admittedly, is a lot, but it still less than I thought it'd be!
I'd hesitate in calling it good, but this show was amusing enough that I wouldn't mind watching another episode.

Now, my dad on the other hand is a different story. He's a giant Trekie - so big that he watches Discovery despite his dislike of the show - but cartoons are different thing. I've watched My Hero Academia and Avatar: The Last Airbender with him, but those have a stronger sense of narrative and a slower pace than this show currently does. I'm positive he'll give it a try, but Lower Decks has a LOT rooting against it for old-school fans like him.

(I also like Beckett Mariner. She's cool, awesome, and seemingly a total wreck of a person. She reminds me of a Star Wars character I created once upon a time...)

Pilot of Star Trek discovery yesterday, it's nice to see how jj set the style for these new series, but the show didn't grab us, Picard was so much better. I don't think @NinjaRen and I will continue watching this one.

I liked Discovery and thought it got better at Season 2. Picard was also nice, but it got a bit weaker at the end.

    Just finished [IMG]
just to learn that it won't get another season.
I have a talent in finding these shows.

My "primary" shows right now are Star Trek Discovery (currently up to Episode 9 of Season 1 as part of a rewatch ahead of Season 3 premiering in October), Doctor Who (currently up to the David Tennant Specials), and The Mandalorian (currently up to Episode 3).

Yeah my dad had similar feelings to both of y'all in regards to Picard - he LOVED it, but he thought the ending nearly ruined the entire show. He's still going back for Season 2 though.

I...don't know why I'm watching this, but I'm on Season Two. I guess I wanted something that had a similar dynamic to Friends & How I Met Your Mother, and this is what came up. It's not bad per-se, but I'd hesitate on calling it great. I laugh during the episodes, but I rarely find things completely hilarious. Maybe this season it'll get better.
And Alex (Elisha Cuthbert) looks eerily like Jennifer Morrison when she's Emma from Once Upon a Time (she also played Zoe from How I Met Your Mother, Dr. Cameron from House). It's both amusing and distracting.

Edit: Also after giving it more thought, I've decided to not have my dad watch the first episode of Star Trek: Lower Decks. It's not his style of humor, his pace in story, or his preferred tone for Star Trek. He dislikes it in the tone of concept, and I'm sure he'd hate it if he watched it.

Also, Power Rangers Wild Force has quite possibly the best anniversary episode in "Forever Red." It's a great team up and a super fun episode. Even if one was to skip the rest of the season, that's an episode worth watching.

Started watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Star Wars Resistance after work; loving Nine-Nine, but I've been falling asleep for the last few minutes of some Resistance episodes >_<

I gave up of Discovery after 8 or 10 episodes from the 1st season. Main reasons:

    - The cuts are too fast (something that I have problems to adapt even in movies and tv shows or cartoons);
    - The photography is too dark;
    - I didn't feel attached to any character except the new klingons.

I'm going through some shows I have left unfinished to wrap up: now it's Counterpart S2 and the 100 S6, then Daredevil S3 and Jessica Jones 3, and finally - Agents of Shield S6-7, Legion S3 and the 100 S7.
And I wrote all that to ensure that I follow through with my word.

It seems you and I have similar tastes!
Season 6 of The 100 is good, but I honestly think the show peaked around Season 4/5. I'm still looking forward to streaming Season 7.
I've liked what I've seen of Season 3 of Daredevil, so I have a feeling you will too.
I think I'm halfway through Season 5 (haven't watched in roughly a year), so it looks like both of us have a little way to go!

I've stalled my Doctor Who watch-through on account of wanting to do a Whovian podcast binge for the episodes I've already watched, but have started Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and will be starting a rewatch of Babylon 5 tomorrow.

Blasted through all 8 episodes of Alex Garland’s ‘Devs’ last week.
Felt like it could have been tighter in places and some of the acting felt off, but overall a good, slow burn drama which had some really thought provoking moments

I really enjoyed that show, especially the 1st and 2nd seasons. Gillian Anderson always excellent.
