There is saved Padme here on the list. Overall he failed to save Shmi as well that helped fuel his desire to save Padme. Saving the ones he loves from dying which isn't necessarily what Kylo wants, may be what happens in the end. Though I don't feel in TFA this is what Kylo meant by this. Anakin believed he could save her if he was powerful enough, Kylo is going after the same power. In the end love it was love that saved Anakin from Vader even though he died shortly after.

How aware is Kylo of everything that happened? It could be about finishing what Kylo believes Vader started, and not what actually happened.

I have always thought that what Vader's goal was had to do with either bringing back or protecting those he cared about from dying. And overcoming death has always been a Sith goal, so he was (too) easily led to the dark side.

In this specific instance, I would like to think that Kylo's goal to protect others from dying or to bring back the dead helped to justify in his mind killing his own father... if he someone how thought that he could some day learn the power to bring him back. If something like this, it wouldn't necessarily justify killing Han Solo to us, the audience, but it might be a wrinkle that helps us understand his twisted views of doing what he thinks is right. After all, before and around TFA, didn't Adam Driver say that Kylo Ren believes that what he is doing is on the side of right? Or for the greater good, or something?

I always liked the idea of Rey dying and then Kylo saving her like Anakin tried with Padme. But it's probably the other way around, what's nice too!

He's dead. I mean the living body, the former nabooian human, is dead.
What still lives - if something is supposed to still live - is not a "crude matter", I do think. Something unmetariel, like a spiritual legacy, perhaps csomething like a force ghost.... but Sheev is dead.

Bringing the Force into balance. That was Anakin's purpose according to the prophecy. Maybe Kylo thinks this prophecy has not been completelyfulfilled yet. Maybe bringing balance to the Force is the creation of the new order Kylo talked about in TLJ. No Sith. No Jedi. Order.

Anakin even discussed this with Padme on Naboo. He wants a system of government that actually works. He even asked Padme to rule with him at the end of ROTS. He wanted to make things the way he and Padme wanted them to be. He later tells Luke he wants to rule the galaxy and end the destructive conflict. And then we get back to Kylo's proposal to Rey.

So Kylo wants to finish what Anakin started by creating a perfect government. A perfect government will bring balance.

But I thought only Jedi can do the force ghost thing. My theory is that while Jedi can shed off the crude matter and be spirits, Sith can only return in crude matter form. Something like a zombie or a vampire. Or what whatever Voldemort was in Harry Potter.

Yes. Kylo learns to save what he loves rather than fighting what he hates.

    The whole point of
Everything that has happened in the ST happened to get Kylo Ren in the same room with C-3PO. In the final scene of the film, after killing everyone, Kylo Ren will place a gold lower leg covering on C-3PO, finally completing him. Anakin's ghost will show up, smile, and the credits will roll. Perfection.

He started dinners with Dorthimir, but most of the guests kept getting Force Choked, so the dinners were canceled. :D

Seriously, I would imagine it is the Jedi Purge, and bring Peace and Security to the Empire.

I think it is likely Palpatine is speaking to Kylo through Vader's helmet and, thus, Kylo is finishing what Palpatine started rather than Vader. Anakin was redeemed and became a force ghost so it would not make sense for him to be haunting or embodied in Vader's helmet.
