Your list is impeccable. I agree with it wholeheartedly. I too love Vader’s March into the Jedi Temple with legions and the love story between Ani and Padme is a guilty fav of mine. :D

Well said! GL expanded our horizons and introduced us to characters and worlds we now love.

Yes! And I love how he played with the limits of what technology could do at the time! There are some true gold nuggets in the prequels. :)

The thing that the PT does for me is that it makes the Saga so much bigger in terms of scope and adds layers to the story. The PT has its flaws but the macro story is worth it as the OT and ST are more intimate/smaller scale stories.

The set designs and scenery is beautiful, in particular Naboo and it's underwater world Otoh Gunga. Tatooine, Kamino, Utapau, Coruscant and Mustafar were nice as well.

Seeing a live-action General Grievous, Darth Maul and Count Dooku is one of my favorite things about the prequels.

    The soundtrack is breath-taking.

We get to see the origins of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-wan Kenobi, the clones, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and in a way, Sheev Palpatine.

We get to see how the Empire rises in power, the climax being Order 66.

    I liked:
-A good level of technology. It really looks like we are in the future.
-I liked the planets. Naboo, Coruscant, Camino, Tatooine, Kashyyyk.
-Great battles, like Coruscant, Kashyyyk and Naboo.
-Beautiful, powerful and charismatic characters (except Jar Jar Binks).

Here are a few of my points that I like about the prequels:

    -Good acting performance.

    -Good special effects.

-Great world building. There were some wonderful planets.

-There are also some good characters. Like Darth Maul and Qui-Gon Jinn.

-Much better lightsaber fights than in the original trilogy.

    Nevertheless the prequels sucks.

I came here after reading this:

    https://slate.com/human-interest/2015/05/star-wars-why-does-everyone-hate-the-prequels.html

The writer is actually kvetching about the films politics. I actually think much of the best of the film are the points listed below.

The world building and the politics was what made the film for me. What ruined the PT for me was the romance and Hayden Christiensen as Anakin, the childish behaviour just ruined it for me. I really did like TPM. And I think that it was the poor reception why I don't think that LF and subsequently Disney decided to go further in that direction. Which I find a shame, because I find that there was so much to be mined.

They really did a good Job in showing us more Planets, they managed this "a wide and diverse Galaxy"-Thing for me.
    I also liked the Politics.

I love John Williams. He has really changed Star Wars for me and others. I also love the vast number of planets and characters added. And who doesn’t like the Clone Army. For the Republic!!!

I think Ewan's Obi-wan is the best thing about the PT. I'm so so so glad that Obi-wan just strait up laid the smackdown on Anakin in RotS. I was afraid they were going to make Obi-wan cheat or use a cheap trick in order to beat Anakin. Nope! He just sliced him up, fair and square.(ben)

There's a kind of a cultural shift/revisionism going on at the moment - Where some of the backlash to the sequel trilogy (there was a lot of praise too) has kind of transformed into new appreciation for the PT, like, 'it's not a bad as we remember'. I'd go one step further and say there are loads of endearing and rewarding aspects of the prequels, from the get-go.

    • Covered before, but George upped the ante on the scale. Think of all the new and distinct planets we got to see, Naboo, Kamino, Geonosis, Coruscant, Utapau etc. The glimpse into galactic politics also achieved this. The imposing size of the Senate building alone worked wonders. The exploration of Coruscant as the centre of galactic politics through all three films, and also as a den of debauchery in AOTC.
    • The depiction of the Jedi Order. You finally get to see the Jedi Order at its full capacity, as 'Guardians of Peace and Justice in the galaxy' as Obi-wan said so long ago . You also see how this position becomes distorted by the war, and their switching roles as Generals and upholders of democracy sets them further apart from The Living Force. They aren't perfect, they have forgotten the essence of their institution, it has morphed into something else entirely - leading to their downfall. Qui-Gon knew this, re-centred his focus and was estranged with The Council as a result. All of these conflicting aspects allows a lot of room for nuance.
    • On the topic of Qui-Gon, Duel of The Fates. The music, the fight sequence, the visuals. What more can I say. When Dave Filoni says that it's called DOTF because the fight is deciding Anakin's fate, wow, that blew my mind. Qui-Gon was the only one that could have trained Anakin, protected him and understood him. It shows how much thought has really gone into the prequels.
    • The Tragedy of Anakin Skywalker. We all know that the core of the first six films is the tragedy and subsequent redemption of The Chosen One, all through love, the feeling that partly led to his undoing in the first place. We see how the seeds of this tragedy are sown, even within TPM. The culmination of them leads to the strongest film in the prequels, ROTS. The dissolution of a friendship, an order, a love, a philosophy, morals, everything that makes someone a person. Hits hard.
    • Palps.
Anyway, I'm waffling - these are a few thoughts that come to mind. George Lucas is a f*cking king

For me the flaws of the ST don't make me reappreciate the PT. Neither do they cover the PT flaws. But anyway, to remain on-topic I will sum up a few things I have ALLWAYS liked about the PT:

    - Duel of the Fates, still one of the most iconic Star Wars-themes.
    - Palpatine: the way he was portrayed by Ian McDiarmid, the whole masterplan starting with the Naboo crisis and culminating into the Trojan-like Order 66. It makes the Emperor the ultimate Evil Genius. The PT established him as the most feared villain in the universe. In fact, no villain in the ST could ever be a greater threat than him.
    - the politics and the Republic: some people thought the PT showed too much politics. Why would that be a flaw? It's just a thematical difference from the OT and ST. The PT showed how a democratic Republic can fall down because of the flaws of its own system. The bureaucracy, the greediness, the lack of common interest, the fact that totalitarianism can rise in a democratic context.
    - Naboo: I don't like much of the fake CGI environments but I love the Renaissance look of Naboo, it's like the Meditteranean in the Star Wars Galaxy, a nice mixture of culture and beautiful nature. A world with a heart.

told me I was in store for all kinds of new Star Wars.

Then George did this to my new favorite ship:

    And it was awesome.
