We’ve had the ‘Where are you from?’, ‘What do you do?’, plus the ‘What are you reading/watching/listening to/playing/drinking…’ threads – but as yet, nothing on what else floats your metaphorical (or literal, if you are so inclined) boat.

What are your other hobbies, interests or distractions? Are you a butcher, a baker, a candlestick maker? A hiker, a biker, an MMA fighter?

My other big loves away from a GFFA, tv/cinema, music, gaming and travel (when the world allows for it!) is being a car nerd... yes, a petrolhead in all it's various guises, whether that be owning, driving, racing (watching), shows or whatever.
I've been to numerous motorsport events, road-tripped all over Europe, been part of clubs and owned waaaay too many vehicles - I currently have an Abarth Evo Supersport, 1955 VW bug and an early 60s Tatra on the roster.
I also volunteer for a local hospital radio station, entertaining (or punishing depending on your POV) the patients with an eclectic mix of music, trivia and anecdotes.

So, come on Cantina… what else do you do with your time? Confess to Uncle Laz! :D

Great thread, this! :D It's always cool and wise for people to get to know one another better :)

Apart from Star Wars, I consume a lot of other SciFi/Fantasy shows and movies, as well as crime series in particular. I also like historical dramas, especially on HBO

Moreover, I'm trying hard to be a rock star (just released our debut album this year https://open.spotify.com/album/7znRKVKPwbSzcACvatUJWV <--self-promo, yay! :p ) and a writer (Bronze Age Fantasy -- PM me if you'd like to read a book of mine  ). I love to travel, to go on "culture holidays" and visit history-rich places full of ancient sites and museums; my idea of a perfect vacation is a trip to somewhere with lots of history, food, and drink to immerse in (not litterally!). Looking forward to going back to Egypt again next year for a 2-week ruins-&-museums marathon!

But my nr.1 vice is pen-&-paper RPGs (with boardgames on the side), and my life is basically me enduring grown-up life just to find the time and resources to enjoy as much RPGing as possible

I am a 237 year old woman who lives in Lilongwe, Madagascar.
For entertainment I read, especially A Song of Ice and Fire(over and over again). I also play games, principally all the Souls games(Sekiro, Dark Souls 1, 2, 3, Bloodborne, not Demon Souls yet). I also watch GOT(over and over again) TCW, and any series about Latin America in the 1980's. I also like anything by Ken Burns.
Sometimes I try to write books, with limited success. I also write poems. Since I live in the desert, interesting fauna and flora are scarce, but on the occasions that I go somewhere less dead, I do look out for interesting nature.

I like watching people's old VHS/Beta uploads containing the continuity announcements and adverts from back in the eighties. Especially the late night versions when TV would close down for the night. Listening to a BBC RP voice tell me "And now it's coming up to almost exactly seventeen and a half minutes past one o'clock and the end of our programming for today. If you are not going to bed right away, BBC Radio 2 is broadcasting through the night..."

I find it quite soothing (until the national anthem comes blaring out that is)

Brandon Sanderson books and the fandom, Fire Emblem games, Shonen manga and anime, movies, occasionally non-Fire Emblem games (so long as they're single-player story driven games on a Playstation). Books have historically been good, but I'm still coming out of my massive book slump from last year. Superhero stuff also keeps me busy, even if I don't watch nearly any of it anymore. Add to that real life stuff (not as much as I'd like, but more than what I'd think I'd be able to do in this season of life), and I'm pretty fulfilled.

Oh, and music. Lots of music. And YouTube (ChuggaaConroy's Let's Plays, lots of beekeeping videos despite me never wanting to be a bee keeper, and Cinema Therapy)

I highly recommend Brandon Sanderson's fantasy works, if you haven't tried them. The Mistborn trilogy is finished, the Stormlight Archive is lifechanging, and Elantris and Warbreaker don't have sequels out yet, so now's the perfect time to read them. If you're a fan of rereads, that's even better, because Brandon's books are even better on rereads - you catch all of the subtle foreshadowing and misdirection you missed the first time around. (And third reads help you see all of the Easter Eggs.) Other Cantina members also have enjoyed his books, such as @Addi Ras, @LadyMusashi, and @DigificWriter. And more!

Yup, I have. I'm a huge Alien fan and my gf an even bigger one, so this game was a must. I'm GMing a home made campaign for her and my buddy over Zoom and it's some tense stuff, heh heh. Latest game was yesterday, where the characters -- a Wayland-Yutani officer and a 10.yo girl, the last survivers of a Mining colony massacre -- arrived at a neighboring mine to seek shelter, only to find that there's definitelly something dark and evil going on there! ;)

You're too kind, my man :D No, I haven't heard of this game but it looks right up my alley! :D

I'm a landscaper, tree surgeon and garden designer. I love what I do. I have a huge passion for conservation & sustainability.

We have three dogs, so plenty of walking and running.

I'm a gamer and love role-playing games including The Witcher & SoulsBorne. I struggle to finish most games so I've found a bit of a niche; same with movies. I don't watch many TV shows, and spend more time watching YouTube. My favourite channels include Critical Drinker, Mr H Reviews, WorlsClasssBullShitters, and some political channels which I obviously won't share on here. And plenty of random stuff that I like to tune out to.

I'm a musician and music is in my blood, I can play a number of string instruments and still do from time to time though I've kinda lost the desire for it.

I like football, I'm a Manchester City & England fan.

I like books, but can't be bothered reading so listen to audiobooks.

And I love fishing, especially saltwater.

Apart from Star Wars my other great passions are Wine & Whisky. I have a rather substantial collection of both. Although I’m not a heavy drinker I do like a really good wine with food over the weekend & my Whisky collection is turning out to be a not half bad investment & if one does actually decline in value at least I can drink it :D.

Currently, as I am between contracts (read, a few free days), re-watch of my favorite wuxia drama and some excellent Thrawn post Rebels fanfiction (so still GFFA in a way).

Also, cooking. I started experimenting with Chinese and Asian dishes in general and I am quite good at experimenting, but I'll have to quit for a while, until I lose weight I gained after Covid (no gym took the toll, but I am going back soon).

You might need to see the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth then too @Lock_S_Foils ...you can see here that it's right next to the current RN port operation.

For reference, that's the top of HMS Warrior in foreground (with one of the last surviving WW2 motor-torpedo boats behind it, just above the forward stack of the big ship). HMS Victory is in the dry-dock in middle right and just to right of her is the Mary Rose museum (white roof). In the harbour proper, on left, is the recently inaugurated HMS Queen Elizabeth carrier with some other craft on the dock north and round to right alongside the quay. All of this is about 10mins drive from where I live
