Not only does it have the green light, but I think I remember KK saying the scripts for the show are done. So I'd expect it to start filming sometime in the near future.

Kenobi deserves a series. He is the true embodiment of a noble Jedi. It was Jedi like him that almost kept me in the Light.

TPM...because the Jedi scum would be far more foolish and immature--hence he would be DOOMED if he were to duel me...

All jokes aside though I'd have to agree with the majority of casts and go with ROTS.

We could use your Jedi killing talents in the Dark Side Sanctum. ;)

Your renown for slaying Jedi in the Clone Wars is an inspiration fo myself and others.

I'd have to say RoTS. He feels much more ... relaxed? I don't know, just feels like he fills the role more in RoTS. Don't get me wrong, I think he did a great job in the two films prior to RoTS. But both aesthetics of Obi-Wan in RoTS and really how Ewan he plays the character... he just feels more at home there.

Exactly, exactly. Couldn't agree more @GeneralHugs IMO this was absolutely intended by Lucas, that the RotS Kenobi feels more like the one we know from the OT.

The first "version" OB1 I have seen was in ANH on a nearly wrecked VHS when I was 9 years old, in my grandfathers livingroom :D.
I have some troubles with the more arrogant parts of his personality in the PT though but I admire McGregors Duell skills after Qui Gons death. I also don't completely agree how Lucas handled the last scenes with OB1 and Anakin in ROTS.
Therefore I would stay with the Old Ben I first saw in Tatooine, characterwise, but there is absolutely nothing that I have to worry about, seeing McGregor as Old Ben in the upcoming series.
I am really looking forward to it. :D

I think he got a lot better in RoTS than in the other prequels, and it really shines through that he studied Alec Guiness' acting from the original trilogy and tried to get closer to it. He got a lot of good quotable one-liners in the movie too. Really happy that he is returning for the Obi Wan series. By the way, welcome to the forum!

Absolutely. I guess that much of it was because of how he progressed and developed as an actor, and how he became more and more comfortable with his character as he studied Alec's acting, as you mentioned.

After recently watching the prequels over again I feel much more attached to them, and I can definitely say that I am looking forward to the series as well!

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

I agree with everyrhing you said. I noticed watching AOTC and ROTS recently how Ewan evolves from rather dogmatic and even overbearing to the softer and more understanding Obi-Wan we all know and love in the late Sir Alic Guinness.

Fun fact, my screen writer mentor was mentored by Sir Alic Guinness in her past.

Ewan McGregor was the best casting choice of the PT.

AOTC obi and ROTS Obi are basically the same though. I prefer AOTC because I just personally like that movie better.

Revenge of The Sith Obi-Wan, because he was the most like a true jedi in that film. He was smart not to trust the Chancellor, strong against Grievous, and daring in what he had to do against Anakin.

Every version of OBI works out perfect for the story he is cast in. Except for the senial obi wan, in a new hope that claimed that when he met Anakin he was the best pilot in the galaxy. Or some BS like that. LOL

Obi-wan in AOTC looks more to the one we learned to know in the animated series. It also is the look of an Obi-one still with hope.

All this thread shows me is that Ewan McGregor ages like fine wine!

i have to say Revenge of the Sith, one of the strengths of the prequels is seeing how wiser and more mature Obi Wan becomes over the three movies and that is when he is at his peak.

ROTS.The version of Obi-Wan who defeated the chosen one in battle. If Yoda would have lived up to his name the empire wouldn't have lasted more than a day.

Yes, this version of Obi-Wan was very brave and is arguably the most iconic.
