Screenshot_20200326_194345~2.jpg It's not on your list, but my favorite Planet to stay for a while would be Takodana..

I would like to visit that Castle... But it doesn't come close to Ahch-To, maybe simply we didn't get to see that much of takodana. Ahch- To had much more screentime. We got to see the island from each side (exposition shots), the cave, the beaches (deleted scenes) and we saw like the entire fauna - the porgs, caretakers, sea cows.

This is what I like about TLJ. Rian introduced only two planets, but we learn everything about them. What makes the planet special, who lives there, etc.? In TROS it is just jumping between locations.

You are right. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the whole Ahch-To scenery. Especially the arrival scene with Rey and "The Jedi steps". It's special and majestic and mysterious. I just wanted to bring in sthg on my own.

While we are at it- what are your favorite Star Wars planets in general?

If I had to choose five planets then I would pick:

    NABOO
    Naboo 1.gif Naboo 3.gif

This place is just beautiful, furthermore it was seen in every movie of the PT.

    CORUSCANT
    Coruscant 1.gif

I'm not much of a big city guy, but Courscant is simply awesome.

    BESPIN
    Bespin 1.gif

Bespin is more my type of city. Small, but beautiful.

    SCARIF
    Scarif 1.gif

The perfect place for a vacation.

    AHCH-TO
    Ahch-To 2.gif

I already explained in the OP why I like this planet.

I was fascinated by the concept of Bespin as a kid. The colors of the cloudy city are just beautiful.
I would love to see a lot more of Alderaan before it was destroyed in live action scenes.
The moon of Endor was also one of my favorites.

@Bligh.. I definitely would love to visit the Lake district once :)
Do you know a good place there to start, that isn't overcrowded ?
If it comes to holidays, I love to visit some nature reserves, just with my family or one or two good friends. I don't need a lot of people in general xD

My father has one in his garden. As you said, the old ones are really impressive. But I am not sure what future generations in the neighborhood will say about it in 2 or 3 hundred years, could get quite overwhelming.. :D

For the poll I chose that the PT had the best planets because it also had the most planets so there was more of a diverse selection to choose from.

But to answer the the Thread’s question, my favorite ST planet would have to be, hmmm, I guess Im going to have to go with Crait or Kef Bir. I like Crait because it reminds me of Hoth in a way. Both Hoth and Crait were icy planets and had rebel bases. I also like the Crait map in BF 2. Hehe. Also, I like Kef Bir because of the death star remains. I thought that was an interesting aspect of the planet. :)

I like this thread and I agree with the poll results (as of 8/7). The prequel trilogy wins, hands down, in originality, design and sheer awesomeness. I would also give the OT a nod because a lot of the aesthetics we recognize as star wars was partially derived from the planets/buildings/landscapes of the OT.

The ST on the other hand was, sorry to put it bluntly: a little on the bland, familiar side. (Though I liked Canto Byte and Ach To.)

Agreed. The PT planets were just so different and special in their own way. And I also agree that the ST was just a little repetitive, yet their are so many amazing planets in that trilogy like the ones you mentioned. :)

Crait its not an icy planet I guess, at least not the parts that we can see in the movie.

Crait its covered by salt and his interior is made of red crystals. But probably the Visual Dictionary can give us more information about that.

Crait, yes it doesn't have a lot of detail and is another barren wasteland, but visually it's impressive--the red crystals and the foxes! Fandom was all about the Porgs, but not enough people give the love to the crystal Foxes! I love the red salt things and it's visual metaphor for blood without showing blood.

I was torn between the PT and the OT on the poll. Because I feel the PT has probably the most creative planets overall, especially Coruscant. But the OT worlds are ultimately a bit more iconic to me, so I voted the latter. And while the PT has a more uniform look across the three films, I also love how each film of the OT looks distinct from each other. Episode 4 shows us a desert world, 5 has an ice world, and then 6 has a forest. Bespin/Cloud City was awesome too.

As for the ST, Crait is hands down the coolest planet there. :) I also enjoyed Kijimi; would've liked to have seen more of it.
