    Hello everybody!

I’m just curious as to what everybody’s favorite game is. It can be a video game or even board game doesn’t really matter. Any type of game that you love to play.

I personally love video games myself so I thought I would make a thread where we can discuss our love for video games and share some of the best games that we have ever played!

The best video game I have ever played would have to be Red Dead Redemption 2. That game was amazing to play.
First of all, the time period that they chose was very interesting. I’m a huge history buff so I’m very interested in history and things like that so I loved the time period. I think they did an amazing job of creating a game in the late 1800s.
Then the story was phenomenal. The actors were very good and you grew to love most of the characters.
I also loved the open world of Red Dead 2. The small towns were lived in and there were people with different personalities and things going on. I enjoyed being able to interact with different people and earn small rewards for different interactions. There was so much to do within the world and it felt very realistic.
The game played very smooth. I liked riding my horses and shooting rifles. Little things like that ran very smooth.

Depends on what you mean by "best". The video game I enjoyed the most was probably Blade Runner (1997 PC game); that one brimmed over with atmosphere and intriguing story. Right now I'm having a lot of fun with Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion, and I really enjoy playing pen-&-paper RPGs.

Heat is easily Fallout New Vegas. Sure it has bugs especially at launch, but man you can’t beat that writing

I understand why it's here, but this thread may fit better in the videogames thread. Or not. It's fine either way to me.

Anyways, to answer the question...I'm not sure I can. But I'll try.

There are many games I've loved over the years, and many games that have things about them that I love while also possessing flaws that prevent them from being "the best."

For example, Kingdom Hearts 2 was my favorite game for a LONG time. I loved the combat, the story, the bosses, the music, and the one level where you fight 1000 enemies on your own. But the prologue stuff is so long, and while it may have been fun the first time, I don't look forward to it when I finally get the 2.5 edition.

Games like Fire Emblem Awakening isn't the best game, but I've spent more time with it than any other single game (around 900 hours), so it technically should be another qualifier.

Then there are games that I compromise things I love such as food or sleep for: Persona 5 (& P5 Royal), Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and the Mass Effect trilogy are the main contenders here. But by that standard, even games that I wouldn't qualify like Mass Effect Andromeda could be mentioned.

And we can't forget nostaligia-trap games. Sonic Adventure 2 Battle has some really big rough spots, but the story, fun gameplay, and nostalgia associated with it all push the game towards the top of the list in my heart.

Savage Worlds also, since it's one of the few games I've played with friends that I enjoyed. (Tabletop games are nearly always winners if you've got the right people and the right plot.)

But for me, I think it has to be Pokemon SoulSilver. This game was a wonderful remake. It brought all of the great changes Diamond/Pearl/Platinum made to the best game in Pokemon. And the the creators went on to add more features and stuff, polishing the game to near perfection. HGSS should be looked at as the golden (heh) standard for all Pokemon remakes...but given the direction the franchise has been going these past couple of years...we'll see what happens.

    The Witcher 3 & Bloodborne

But also Metal Gear Solid 1-3, Dark Souls, Sekiro, Kotor and the first few Splinter cell games are right up there as some of the best games I've ever played.

That game was all kinds of awesome
    [IMG]

Favourite video game for me would probably still be Final Fantasy VII... it was one of the first games I sat down and was transfixed by, ploughing hours into it’s crazy story and characters

On tabletop it’s way too hard to say as there’s so many decent titles out there, but arm twisted and forced to make a call right now, I’d make a tough call and say Battlestar Galactica...

...or maybe The Thing: Infection at Outpost 31
    [IMG]

    ...or maybe Xia :D

Sekiro is easily one of the best games I have ever played as well. But I'd take Dark Souls II over III, which I know is a minority opinion lol. There's something about DSII that is so special to me that even the first one doesn't have.

But for my best game ever, that is very hard to choose. So I'll just list some that I think would be up there: Rimworld, Factorio, Dark Souls II, Sekiro, Monster Hunter 4, and Portal 2.

Final Fantasy X would be the best game ever played in the RPG category, and best sport MLB 09 The Show, best non sports wrestling; WWE 13'. furthermore; Final Fantasy X is the biggest impact as I started with X in 2001 then got the remaster to celebrate it in 2013. It's a monumental story that every new generation will enjoy in endless time.

My first run-thru was on the Xbox, my second was on the PC with mods from Holowan labs and by Stoffe on the now defunct Lucasforums.

    Modsreloaded
has KotOR-TSL Holowan plugin that is still available for download. Nexusmods and Youtube KotOR mods would be where I'd look next.

My favorite(s) were Kreia's new mechno hand and the Revan robe mods.

    easy one for me.. KOTOR.

LOTRO isn’t too far behind. I’d be too embarrassed to admit to how much time I spent running around middle earth

I'm absolutely terrible at committing to a single "best" or "favorite," so here are *some of the best* games I've played:

Braid. Absolutely stunning puzzle plat-former using incredibly creative time mechanics, and all of it topped off with a really intriguing narrative.

Portal. Short but it's just so dang good. I think it's one of those games we're so used to now, it's easy to forget how incredibly original it is. And the storytelling just takes it to the next level.

Spider-Man (Ps4). I don't know if I've ever played a game that I so thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish.

Damm now there’s a blast from the past but yes that was a great game.

For me it’s the original ELITE now that was a game you could really spend hours or days on ok so the graphics were a bit minimal but & sure I crashed about 50 times at least before I could afford the auto dock computer which was an absolute must buy.
But then the galaxy opened up big time & just so menu choice be a straight forward trader, smuggle contraband goods to become a straight up pirate & lay in wait for a passing ship a destroy it before recovering it’s cargo.

Wooooah.. are you talking about the spectrum game from the mid 80’s?

edit: the game I’m thinking of actually came out on the acorn before the spectrum
