I'm not sure the exact time frame, but I remember I got into SW at an early age around 5 or 6. I grew up watching the OT on TV and I remember my parents taking me to Blockbuster to rent out the OT on VHS. The first SW game that I can recall playing was SW Arcade on the Sega Genesis 32X. I remember my parents bought me the OT SE on VHS when it first came out. Episode 1 was my first SW experience in theaters. Been a SW fan since then. I still have most my SW toys from the 90s.

Clarksville, Indiana summer of 1977 Greentree 4.
Somewhere between the tail end of June and the first week of August because that is usually the part of the summer I spent with my grandparents and eldest sister.
So this would be around 3 months to my 5th birthday, give or take.

I want to say between 2-4 PM because it was early enough for back to back viewings and it wasn't quite dark yet when we got home.

Easily one of the most impactful days of my life and would be the last time I wasn't there opening day for Star Wars.

My first time seeing Star Wars was more recent than everybody else’s it seems.

For me, it was Fall 2015 and there was a bunch if hype for some big pop culture movie coming out that December. My only familiarity with the series was watching the Star Wars Rebels show, so I figured it was time for me to dive into the movies. I was hanging out with my cousins one day and I shocked them by bringing up how I’d never seen any of the Star Wars movies. That changed the following evening when we watched A New Hope and my life was changed forever. I swear that my eyes were glued to the screen the entire time.

I was also ten years old in 1977. Saw Star Wars at the Murray Theater, a single screen independent theater that my brother and I pretty much grew up in. (Wow, ending a sentence with TWO prepositions? Threepio would certainly disapprove!)

The theater's not there anymore, destroyed in a natural gas pipeline explosion.
