I loved it! I still remember that first day waiting on line for the THX auditorium screening and the crowds from earlier showings pouring out and all like you guys are in for a treat!, it's awesome!, you are gonna love it!, etc. all giving thumbs up, smiling, energized and my packed house all erupting into wild cheers at the end! Rushed right over to the Barnes and Noble afterwards to get the novelization and some other merch! What a day!

It actually got relatively decent reviews at the time by the critics (better than for TPM and worse than for ROTS). I saw a ton of enthusiasm for it.

We got to see so many fascinating places, just think how crazy and exotic the cloner's and their world was, we'd seen nothing like that before in SW! What a sense of wonder and magic and endless fascination! The beautiful scenes filmed at Lake Como. Dooku, who in some ways, was cooler than Maul even I'd say. Anakin and beautiful Padme. Beautiful and stirring John Williams music. The stunning sunset wedding scenes at Lake Como at the end set to rousing music. We got to see more of Coruscant. Such wonderful creatures and design. Found that the original storm troopers acted as Republic troops. etc. etc. etc.

Exactly! I mean she was like sent of to government at age 14 and had to act super rigid and serious to be taken seriously and then was straight off to galaxy-wide govnerment and he is a freaking monk! He's hardly some Han Solo kinda guy! He was not gonna be some all suave and cool Solo. And even she had a more unusual background than most.

Not to mention has nobody ever overheard the lines and things people say to each other in the real world. Haha, it's not always like perfectly scripted Hollywood romance lines and can be pretty goofy or awkward but so what?

Also he was trying to make it feel of a totally different era and tried to more ape, ultra, ultra early U.S. cinema romance, from a totally different age.
