A discussion on the crazy things said about TLJ after release

"Disney bought the critics and that's why they all love The Last Jedi".

and what about...

The craziest thing which was said was „this is the best SW movie ever „ and it was said by me.i believed that until recently but now i consider it the weakest movie of the saga together with TPM and AOTC and I am not sure to which spot it belongs.

 

"Rey has no challenges and she never fails at anything."

this, about a movie in which Rey basically has two goals and, yup, fails at both of them.
but she did lift some rocks, so she wins, right? even though Luke says quite literally that being strong in the Force isn't about lifting rocks. [shrug].

 

Which leads us into "Rey is still a Mary Sue, I don't have the argument yet, but I'm writing an article on it and will post it soon". Also here in the Cantina.....still waiting by the way.

I think there's a couple things buddy.

 

It is a very good movie . There is no reason why he should backtrack on his decisions.

 

Maybe a little less hubris? I mean he liked throwing that word around in the script.

 

Crazy things said about TLJ after release

-That it wasn't divisive, just a few angry people making noise on the internet
-That the bad reviews on iMDB was exclusively due to a bot campaign
-That it was merely fanboys disappointed that they didn't have their head canon confirmed that didn't like TLJ
-That if you didn't like the film, it's because you didn't understand the film
-That Rian had to write the story he did, his hands were tied he had no choice
-That ESB was as poorly received by fans and critics when it first opened too

There are tons more of examples like this but these were some of the worse offenders

 

-That the only people complaining about it were racists
-That you should watch it more than one time to decide if you like it or not

 

Are those the most crazy things. Wow. But okay

 

"That big exploding ship doesn't even make 'boom' or anything ..."

 

That's not crazy that's smart.

You can't make this stuff up.

 

@Rayjefury doesn't understand that you can rate something favorable (as in one of your favorites) but that doesn't mean the rest is unfavorable. Just that person is more favorable than the others. So I guess you can add his post to the craziest things I've heard about TLJ, and in particular, Finn.

 

That's just an argument based on perceived evidence. I don't really consider it a "crazy thing". This is a crazy thing.

"I hardly saw anything of the movie. I had to go the ladies room at least four times. I was so excited. I was so thirsty, but luckily I had enough to drink" (someone I know)
