A discussion on the crazy things said about TLJ after release

I don't think many people here are trying to do that. Ticket sales, good or bad, are never a direct correlation of a film's quality. I mean, I guarantee you that The Emoji Movie outsold Three Billboard Outside Ebbing, Missouri last year by a huge margin.

Rather, we're actually agreeing that ticket sales are not reflective of a film's quality. Just because TLJ didn't sell as well as TFA doesn't mean it's a significantly worse film. I think there are a lot of factors that go into ticket sales, with quality being only one of them.

This is, after all, a discussion on "crazy things said about TLJ after release", so what we're citing are claims made by people that this comparison to TFA means TLJ was of worse quality. Not sure how the goalposts got moved so badly.

And to try to mark the film as objectively bad... come on, you're better than that.
