I'm reading the Journey To The Force Awakens books, and I came across a couple of character names/illustrations of said characters that I think refer to characters who will appear in the film. If I'm right, then...
    • Jessica Henwick is Jessika Pava. This is based mostly on the way her character looks in the book's illustrations. Henwick was apparently cast fairly late into production, which would most likely limit her scenes to Act Three - which would make sense if she's playing a Resistance pilot, as quite a few of her scenes would take place in a cockpit.
    • Miltos Yerolemou is Sarco Plank. We know that Yerolemou's playing an alien, and that Sarco uses a melee weapon in his story - something his actor is proficient at using as a swordsman. Something tells me that Sarco will be an important supporting character in Act One.
    • Max Von Sydow is Ematt - not Corwin, "The Vicar". Ematt's outfit in the book looks a lot like the one I've seen - the one we talked about on our podcast - and I think that the illustration shown could potentially pass for a younger Max Von Sydow. The character also has ties to the Rebellion, which might extend to the Resistance.
Technically, we know that Sarco Plank and Ematt are both present in the film based on merchandise and production codenames, respectively. (Fun fact - all of the above cast members are/were/will be involved with Game Of Thrones, in addition to Gwendoline Christie.)

I'm mostly just spitballing here, as I'm working on an article covering these stories, but I get an odd feeling that I might be onto something with at least two of the three characters listed.

    Here's another one:

Andy Serkis is Snoke who is:

The unknown Admiral from the end of Aftermath

I think that's possible, but when you write that vaguely about a character, it could be essentially anybody. Including Darth Plagueis, Jar-Jar Binks, and Jaxxon.

(Still, it's not a bad guess by any stretch of the imagination.)

MSW have been under the same impression for some time... it make sense.

Not sure about this one. Sarco Plank may not look particularly tall, but I'm not sure he as short as Miltos Yerolemou... The news of his casting only broke 1st September.
Miltos was also at Comicpalooza Con in Texas on the 23rd and 24th of May, which would put him out of the bulk of the Act 1 filming, though it is entirely possible that Sarco Plank doesn't actually appear on Jakku.

    Highly unlikely.
As revealed in Moving Target, Major Ematt is with General Leia Organa at the Resistance base around the start of The Force Awakens, while Poe Dameron is already on Jakku.
If Ematt were in fact "The Vicar," it would mean that "The Vicar" plays a completely different role to what we were aware of.
Corwin is still the more likely character, although Collider's Jedi Council have speculated that he may actually be the gay Imperial turncoat Sinjir Rath Velus, also from Aftermath, based on another character referring to him as "the tall man" (MVS is 1.94m/6'4").
Corwin has the advantage that he's already been placed on Jakku.

I don't know... if the Empire was full of powerful dark side force users, such as Snoke, I don't think things would have turned out the way they did...

But the Admiral wasn't with the Empire, we was out in the far reaches of the Galaxy, and wasn't able to make it back until a year after ROTJ. This lines up with another tidbit from Aftermath, which says that the emperor had sent people out into deep space to find the source of the dark side. While the Admiral (if he is Snoke) could have been a regular imperial commander when he left, if he DID find the source of the dark side, then it would stand to reason that he came back a powerful force user on a mission to recreate the empire. Although I'm really just playing devils advocate here, my gut tells me it's Thrawn.

You misunderstand me - I was proposing that Ematt was not "The Vicar" - Corwin is. Ematt is as Ematt does.

I do feel like there's a reason as to why they haven't shown Max Von Sydow yet.

I see... so you're saying that MVS is not the Vicar at all.
The problem with that theory is that MVS is a bit old for Ematt. Major Ematt is only supposed to be in his 50s during TFA, while MVS is in his 80s.
We'll probably find that Ematt was one of the officers visible in the SDCC video.

    It could be.

I will say that the costume shown in the book is suspiciously similar to MVS's costume in the image we saw.

Which book are you referring to?
I hardly think his costume seen in Smuggler's Run is indicative of how he dresses in TFA. For starters, he was working recon, trying to keep a low profile back then... now he's at the Resistance Base, with only the rank of Major. He would be wearing a Resistance uniform like all the other officers.

The second-to-last illustration in Smuggler's Run. Upon closer inspection, I see much less of a match.

I do think MSW said that they thought Ematt - as he had been drawn - looked like Sydow.

This is who MSW were thinking could be a match for Ematt.

I posted this pic/theory below a long time ago. Now we have the name Unkar Plutt who runs the scavenger business with his Unkar thugs. I still think Simon Pegg could play this character.
    Pegg - BB8.jpg

Perhaps this blue guy to the right is Plutt ? He looks very Jakku and scavenger like. But maybe not , somehow the name (and pegs costume ) suggests a fat guy to me.
    Le Jedi 7.jpg

Or maybe the blue concept is just a early version of this guy

    Time will tell...

I was actually just thinking this.
He's one of the only other actors we know of who was in Abu Dhabi...
