When EPIX is done should Disney do a new special edition of EP I-VI including updated CGI and added scenes and changed scenes ? I say yes .They could even bring Snoke into the end of ROTJ for example. What do you mean?

No. No. No. Just leave Episodes I-VI be. They've been altered more than enough in the past.

But they still can be rescued.;) i mean I-III can easily be improved by updating the CGI.IV-VI can be restored to its original form and then edited wisely.

    Yes of course, brilliant idea.

Should they reboot the Cantine forum too ?

What I would love to see are special editions of TFA and RO. Add various familiar aliens to these movies so they can look like we are in the very same SW galaxy Lucas created and I'm good.

What about the Prequel Trilogy without any CG..... oh, right. Then there would be no PT.

Adywan's Empire Strikes Back Revisited will be released in the next month or two, which he advertises as "What the special editions should have been".

    https://swrevisited.wordpress.com/esbr-facts/

I thought his version of the original Star Wars was fantastic, give or take a couple of effects (though that said, many of the genuine Lucasfilm additions from 1997 like the dewback outside the Cantina look so badly composited that he's pretty much on par with the rest of the movie). I thought what he did to the Battle of Yavin in particular was incredible and really elevated its gravitas.

Can't wait to see what the end result with Empire is going to look like given the ridiculous amount of prop and miniature set building he's done to replace some matte paintings and out-dated effects.

It's going to make his own work on the original look like so simplistic once this one's complete.

George already altered the deal. Pray it doesn't get altered any further.

I think they should take the original theatrical releases of the OT, clean up the picture and audio, make it Bluray quality. Possibly add better special effects, explosions and so forth. Thats it. Just a Bluray quality pre special edition release.

The only two problems with the Empire special edition were the cutting of the "you're lucky you don't taste very good" line on Dagobah and the cuts to Vader going back to his Star Destroyer on Bespin (one of those cuts is actually a take of Vader going on to the Death Star from ROTJ), which breaks the tension horribly.

Everything else added in Empire is beautiful.

Totally agree. Both are absolute bizarre decisions for really minor scenes for him to nitpick. Quite why Lucas wasn't happy with Vader's blunt aggressive "bring my shuttle" I'll never understand; the frustration in his voice as he stomps off after losing his potential new apprentice was perfect.

And the "...taste..." line? I quite literally can't comprehend how it bothered him so much to change it? It's like applying concealer make-up to a small freckle behind your ear - what's the point? Who was even bothered by it?

My major annoyance with the special edition is Fett's new voice. Sure it's been revealed he was a clone, but accents develop and change based on your surroundings, he stopped being raised by his dad at what, 10? Then travelled the galaxy. He doesn't need a New Zealand accent. Or even voice - since likewise, lifestyle can severely alter your voice; a life of smoking "death sticks" (ugh) or that opium-looking stuff in the Cantina could easily result in him sounding completely different to Jango.

Case in point - Angus Young of AC/DC is Scottish, but he left there at aged 8 to move to Australia, these days he doesn't remotely sound like he's from Glasgow.

But my gripe comes from the most simple of criticisms; the original vocal delivery was just a hundred times better, with far more menace and enthusiasm.

Again, this is something Adywan's rectifying in ESB: Revisited if anyone's interested. Looking forward to hearing Jason Wingreen again :)

No big deal! As for updated Special Editions, I don't mind 'em as long as they make the original versions for folks that want to watch those instead.

They could dual release them...some of the movies on dvd/Blu-Ray have the option for extended or theatrical release. So why not....I want to see the originals like they were made.
