This is a thread for any theories which have different spin on something presumed to be fact by the community, maybe you think people have things mostly right but there's one vital thing you think will turn out different..

I have a theory that Finn doesn't crash a Tie Fighter in the desert, but is actually stranded there by Kylo after disobeying orders. He's left at the mercy of a nearby village (who were just attacked by stormtroopers) and Rey buys his freedom out of kindness, in return she asks for his help to get off the planet, as 'The Vicar' (Max Von Sydow) gives Rey the task of delivering a lightsaber to Luke, her father who she's not seen in years.

I also think Luke exiled himself and refused to teach Rey the ways of the force out of fear for her safety, when her cousin Kylo Ren goes nuts.. Luke has no choice but to teach Rey and Finn the ways of the force, but this will probably be in VIII. I believe some of the concept art we've seen may be early concepts from VIII (pirate cove, Rey vs Kylo)

I keep saying TFA will start with a big event(WMD, sneak attack, 9/11/2001 type event) then JUMP ahead 15/20 years. Everything will be in a mess and factions will be fighting for control of the galaxy.
Leia's leadership and motivations will be questioned. Han will be burned out or retired(bitter and depressed).
Luke, correctly will either be in hiding or secretly training a new cadre of Jedi, sensing a new threat to the force.
I doubt one object or lightsaber will be the main focus of the young leads. Like R2 in ANH, BB8 or Rey might have plans or information critical to the Republic. It would be cool and a clever twist if they hide in the smuggler bins of the Falcon, (falcon).
Id add that I doubt all the pieces of the villian puzzle will be played out. Like TESB, the main bad guy(I say Darth Plaguis) will not be revealed but brief glances or holograms might be in TFA.

PS: A big boom or shock  might be that Darth Plaguis is in fact Anakin's real father! He had a plot all along to secretly gain control over the entire galaxy....

I'd have loved it if they'd simply given Finn the Kyle Katarn treatment. He defects from the Empire, joins the Rebels, and later learns he's got the Force and decides to join Luke's students at a brand new Jedi Temple...
