At this point, I only "care" about Lando! Put him and Chewie back in the Falcon pulling off some over the top flying skills and blowing up something (NOT GETTING KILLED IN THE PROCESS...I STILL HAVEN'T FORGOT ABOUT THE WHOLE FALCON WAS SUPPOSED TO BLOW UP WITH THE DEATH STAR AT THE END OF ROTJ! ), then JJ you would have earned my trust!

 

there's an Adam Driver hair watch faction in the know; he'll be clean-shaven under the mask. XD

Billy Dee is 81. I suspect his part will be rather small. He will look cool and continue to be a smooth talker but I would suspect he is not going to get a lot of action. However, I would think he would be able to handle flipping a few switches sitting in the cockpit of the Falcon.

 

Does anybody else think Spy Vs. Spy when they look at B?!

 

Remember when People joked about the idea of Kylo wearing a mask again, because it would "undo" the character development of him in VIII?!

I actually think this is very logical. Kylo talks about killing the past but he more than anyone continues being a slave to it... He cannot shift his grudges and his obsession with family bloodline and Vader. His "you come from nothing" to Rey shows that he cares about this kind of thing. He perhaps places value in old possessions and probably fetishises them, maybe believing they represent who he is and where he comes from... He is like one of those aristocrats who are happy to live in a dilapidated house, sacrificing comfort for history and name... The repaired helmet is consistent with the representation of Kylo so far, with his unstable saber, his flowing, ragged robes, Vader's melted mask. He is a psychological mess full of contradictions and even more unhinged, I imagine, after his defeat to Luke in Crait and Rey's final rejection.

 

It does undo it, but it also kinda doesn't. Snoke teased him of not being like Vader and thus Kylo Ren finally realised, he can and has to be more than Vader. So, he crushed the mask. But he didn't crushed the dream of him being a new Vader, no, in the novelization of TLJ Kylo imagined the mask being Snoke's head. At this very moment he decided to become better than his grandfather and do something Vader never achieved. => Overthrowing his master.

Kylo went from the villain to the oppressor and as oppressor you have to look scary and dangerous. Hencefore the mask comes back. Yes, it's a step back for his development, but one which is fitting. By the end of TLJ Kylo had the chance to redeem himself, but he rather took a step back and go further into the darkness. So him having the mask back is logical IMO.

 

The rumor mill says that the mask will be off for the second half of the movie.

Rey's new outfit is follows a theme from TFA.

TFA treated her as an inversion of Luke. Luke wanted to leave home, go beyond his family, and he quickly embraced the Jedi path; Rey wants to stay home, find her family, and she fights against the call of the Force.

In the third movie of Luke's trilogy, we find him all in black; in the third movie of Rey's trilogy, we find her all in white.

I wonder if this will reflect more inversions of the Luke-arc.

 

What if... that's not a Knight of Ren holding a staff... but Rey in black, much like Luke in Jedi. The reason there's that smudgy looking mask is because it hide the fact hat Rey at one point is wearing that... maybe as a disguise, maybe to mislead someone. Just throwing it out there that images may not always be as obvious as they seem.

 

1977 Star Wars is Abrams's favorite. He didn't get to put the heroes in white in TFA, coming back to close it out in 2019 he did.

That was back when I cared a lot more. IDK how I feel about the white outfit being the same style as her TFA outfit again though.

 

It's fake because I and J contradict each other. If J is Kylo's Mask fixed then J Kylo in the Hood, masked should coincide with the fixed Mask with Red stripping and its not.

 

Too blurry to really tell. Perhaps the striping even fades away at some point. Either way, these pics confirm various other rumors and are consisted with leaked set photos of Poe. It's legit.

 

it's leaked concept art and reference photos.. only the movie itself will show us what gets used and what doesn't.

costume descriptions from MSW (that came before this art leak) do line up with some of these images.. giving it a lot of credibility.

doesn't mean that we will see a single thing from that leak in the final movie - but a leak it is.

 

I am surprised to see so many questioning the legitimacy of these images. Sure looks legit to me but keep in mind it is concept art. It is not meant to be internally consistent so you'll see multiple variations of the same character/outfit. Also, so much of what gets conceptualized artistically ends up being just a blink-and-you-miss-it background character (or one who never makes the final film at all).

These images look really cool. I especially like that unicycle droid thingy in image B. Reminds me of FLO from Dex's Diner...

 

Also some of these are photos of the characters in actual costume... and probably will be seen on screen. Some are concept designs/drawings/models and may have been altered before filming.
